Dixon Bass Submitted for WR?
As I recall, a conservation agent was present at the weighing to verify the fish. If I'm not mistaken, it was weighed on a postal scale. Far more accurate and reliable than one of those carry around personal scales you can buy from Bass Pro Shops. Remember, Perry entered his fish into a big bass contest at the time in order to win a rod and reel. It was also at a time when most people couldn't afford to own a camera so it's not unusual that the fish wasn't photographed. As I posted in the other thread, a new world record, caught in the late 70's-early 80's by a woman in CA was later found to have a lead diving weight in it's belly after X-rayed. No Carcass, dead or alive, no record.

taking boat matter into my own hands(literally)
Good grief! Save your money. Get a second job. I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those things which is exactly what could happen if you actually tried fishing out of one of those. That first picture is a joke. The waterline is at the top of the gunwhale at the back of the boat!

boat for me and the bro
8' is too small for one of those things with 2 people in it. Add tackle, battery, rods, small cooler and I'm not sure there'd be room for 2 people.

Looking for opinions on 2002 Nitro NX882
Kelly blue book only has personal watercraft pricing. But here is a web site for pricing any boat, and I mean any boat. http://www.nadaguides.com/ I just bought a 1977 polar craft 16" and did searches for it on the web and came up with vary little imformation and no pictures. So I was surprised when www.nadaguides.com not only found my 1977 polar craft but had every modol for every lenght made that year. 30 all together, 11 differnt 16 footers. Polar craft must have been a populer boat 30 years ago. There are three blue books generally accepted in the U.S. and used by boat dealers, the NADA Marine Appraisal Guide, the BUC Used Price Guide, and the ABOS Marine Blue Book. You can find copies of them at marine insurance agents or banks that handle boat financing. They come in handy when buying and selling a boat. Oops, you're right, it's NADA. Got them mixed up with Kelley. As for the boat, that's a pretty good price. That particular boat was selling for around $20-21k new. The seller has depreciated the thing 50% which is about right for a Nitro. That brand doesn't hold it's value well in a resell.

22lbs 7oz reported from Dixon Ca
No carcass, dead or alive, no record. I remember a gal weighing in a big un from CA. back in the 70's, xray's found a lead diving weight down in it's belly. These guys knew the importance of that fish. Releasing it back into the water is a crock. That fish was near the end of it's lifespan, it was worth far more in a tank at BPS than it was back in the lake.

Dixon Bass Submitted for WR?
: Oh brother, at least George Perry had his fish weighed on something resembling a legitimate scale. We don't need another controversial World record. No carcass, no record. Sorry.

Looking for opinions on 2002 Nitro NX882
I don't have a link but Kelley blue book has a service available on the net for pricing boats. You might want to google them up and run that boat through their ringer to see if the price is close. By the way! Go over the trailer, especially the crossmembers with a fine tooth comb. Nitro trailers were infamous for their crossmembers rusting out FAST!!

1990 Nitro 150 Evinrude XP
That would be a pre-Bass Pro shops Nitro. Pretty decent boat but as previously stated, you'll need to check for floor and transom rot. The 150 XP's were pretty good engines, you'll want to do a compression test, numbers aren't as important as the cylinders being close to one another. Those 150's were kinda fuel hoggy though.

Possible Boat...
Fisher Marine made good boats. My only concern would be the engine and how long it's sat without use. That's actually NOT a good thing. Offer $800.

Locations of fish finders on boat?
The high end goes at the wheel. I'm looking for potential structure while I'm motoring so I want a larger screen and much more detail. When I'm upfront fishing I'm using that locator as a referance only.

Price this boat
I wouldn't give over a $1000 for that thing. No motor, trolling motor looks like it needs replacement, no fishing seats, steering system may or may not need replacement, no electronics, no batteries, no fuel tank, can't tell the condition of the carpet or the hull and what's with a tandem trailer on that small of a boat??? :-?

Arrow Pro Fiberglass Boats
If it's an Arrowglass, it's going to be fairly old. They made boats during the early years of bass fishing including some fairly nice pad hull boats and then they came out with their Freedom line of Vhulls. I think they went out of business in the late 80's early 90's.

Is this worth looking at???
Bumblebee makes a good boat though it's got a very regional following. Sorta like Charger here in Missouri. If the thing is Garage kept and immaculate I'd say that price is fairly close. You've got about $1k to go lower IMO. Make sure you have that Johnson checked out. Pretty sure it's a FICHT and they had some serious issues with those engines.

Arrow Pro Fiberglass Boats
Never heard of it. Is this an old boat? Are you sure it isn't an ArrowGlass?

HELP, I have a hole in my boat!!
Bass Pro shops sells that stuff too. It works good from the guys I've talked to who used it.

How to fish cold muddy waters
Water under 50 degrees that's muddy isn't worth wasting your time on. I just went out last Saturday fishing the same conditions. So much water was going over the spillway there was a a pretty decent current. Muddy, trash and debris in the water. Dead shad everywhere, too bad the water wasn't clean, would've been a fantastic jerkbait bite. anyway, tried fishing as many current breaks as possible with noisy jigs, spinnerbaits slo-rolled and some crankbaits just slowly bumped along the bottom. Nothing, nada. Shoulda stayed home.

Family fishing club...
There's a local club in my area called the Hawg Hawlers Bass Club of St. Louis. Here's a link to their website if you'd like to see how they're doing it. http://www.hawghawlers.com/ They're a family oriented club with a pretty good sized membership. I've considered joining this club but haven't made up my mind.

How old a Champion do you have?

What do you float on?
18 1/2 ft Champion Bass boat with Yamaha 150hp ProV outboard.

no Boat Ramp
I'm SOL without a ramp. Now, if I had a johnboat or one of those little 2 man deals that's another story altogether.

Muddy Fishing
Tried that yesterday, didn't help. The crappie fishing only happened because the bass fishing was such a washout. Heavy rains Fri nite followed by another big storm Sat morning had the lake a mud hole. So much water was washing over the spillway on the 120 acre lake there was actually a slight current. Add to that surface temps of only 48-50 degrees and I should've stayed home. Shame too, dead shad everywhere. Would've been a fantastic jerkbait bite if the fish could've just seen the bait.

Night Fishing?

Bass Boat Opinion......
Buy used!!!!!! Bassboats depreciate worse than cars. A boat that has been well maintained and cared for will last for years with only minor maintenance from time to time. There's a guy that's had a 20 foot 1993 Stratos with 200 Johnson on it on the flea market for a while. I think it's finally sold but he was only asking $10k and that boat looked new. Look around, there are deals to be found especially this time of year.

getting gas out of bass boat tank?
Plan on the amount needed for the 52 gallons and then add a tad of good measure. Better to over oil than under.
