Alberto knot is an excellent knot but I have started using the 13 knot ( Youtube ). It's similar to the Slim Beauty, easy to tie, small diameter and appears to be very strong. It's also a saltwater knot, so should be plenty strong for bass fishing.

I've had good luck with Nanofil but I always use a leader. No problems and it casts great. My breakoffs with it have come from hanging up. I have used the 10 and 12 lb test, both on spinning reels. I use the alberto knot with a couple of extra wraps. I read somewhere on the internet that one of the Berkley guys said that's how he tied Nanofil. No idea if a Berkley guy actually said that but it seemed to make sense and it's worked for me. Your mileage may vary.

I mostly kayak fish and always use braid with a leader on my spinning outfits. Main reason I use a leader is if I get hung up I can usually break off with the flouro a lot easier than with braid. If I get hung up deep with braid and no leader I usually wind up cutting the line at the kayak. Saves me a lot of main line.

I just picked up a spinning reel yesterday. Only I was choosing between the President Limited Edition and the Pfleuger Supreme. The LE is priced at $79 and the Supreme is $99 with a $20 rebate. Basically the same price. I went with the Supreme and got the full magnesium frame. Supreme has a 6:2 gear ratio. Haven't fished with it yet but it's very smooth and I'm really happy with my purchase. Good luck on your choice.

I thought they were too, but found out differently. Better leak test them before you put valuables in them.

I've carried my zinkerz and TRD's in a double sided plano box ( 4x6 ) for about six months and they still look like they did when I took them out of the package. Except for those I've used of course. I keep my jig heads and hooks in there also. I could fish out of the box for months without refilling it and it's much handier on the kayak than the original packages (tried that). Like most things fishing, it's a personal choice.

I've been using it for a couple of years and really like it, especially the bright green. I read on another site ( don't remember which or I'd post a link ) that one of the Berkley guys said he always puts a few extra wraps on a knot with Nanofil. I've been doing that and haven't had any slippage ( I use the Alberto knot ). My line has frayed too, but no break-offs.

Picked up a Berkley Shock spinning rod today. Haven't fished it but I'm impressed so far. Only problem is I really didn't need it. Bait monkey....

I used the duct seal on my Ride and would do it again. Cheap and if you need to relocate it comes up easily. Like Bartdude said, you can find it in the electrical section at Lowes or HD and it's cheap.

I had a similar experience. Broke a 6'3" Smallmouth spinning rod (my fault, not the company's) and they replaced the rod at a substantial discount. I didn't expect them to just give me a new rod when i was the one who broke it and was very happy with their response. Will definitely buy Fenwick again.

Zoom makes a super fluke in glow with chart. tail which I have found to be very effective in low light conditions ( mostly dusk, don't do a lot of morning fishing). I do know it is visible to me when other baits can't be seen. Maybe just right place and right time, but I don't leave home without it.

I usually take one sandwich bag filled with flukes and other shallow soft plastics and one sandwich bag with craws, beavers, and worms. A small tin that carries extra hooks, sinkers, ect. One small spool of leader material. One spinning outfit and one baitcaster. I know, most people don't fish like I do, but I still catch fish and have fun. Tight lines.

Bass Pro, Dicks, Gander Mountain, and Academy Sports all have kayaks at a reasonable price. They are not bad kayaks. Do some research on the internet and ask around before buying. Demo if possible. I have a Caster 12.5 I got at Dicks ( about five years ago ) with the angler package for under $500. I've since upgraded to a different kayak, but I'm also beginning to figure out that none of them are perfect and you can fish out of all of them.

I'm now the proud owner of a pair of P17's with the green emerald lens. My buddy made an offer I couldn't refuse ( free ) and I wore them fishing again today. VERY lightly scratched but they make a great sunglass for fishing. If I were going to wear them as my regular sunglasses, they would be a little on the small side but for fishing they work out fine, especially with a hat. Now if I could just get the fish to bite............

Went fishing today and got to borrow a pair of Wiley X P-17's with the Green Emerald lens. Great pair of glasses. The lens was very easy on the eyes and we were in bright sunlight a good part of the trip. Excellent polarization. I only have some Cocoons and my prescription polarized to compare but I could see much better under the surface. The P-17 frames were a little small on me so I'll need to look for a larger frame but I'm leaning towards Wiley X with this lens.

Something to consider -- when you hang your bait and give it a yank to release it, there is frequently a lead missile flying through the air in your direction. I wouldn't want to be wearing glass lenses if that lead missile hit my sunglasses. While I agree that glass is going to be a more uniform lens, I'll take a polycarbonate lens for the safety aspect. I have had polycarbonate lenes in my prescription glasses for years and if there is distortion, it is not noticeable. JMO

I own the Supreme XT ( I fish freshwater only) and it is a very good reel. Very smooth and a good drag. I have a Shimano CI4 which I like a little better but it is the next level up in price range. XT is a very good reel for the price and I would recommend without hesitation.

I'm slowly switching all my spinning reels over to Nanofil ( with a leader ). Throws a mile, no twist issues and I haven't had a breakoff in two years of fishing it. I use both the 10 and 12 pound test.

I'm with Roadwarrior with this one. My soft plastics fishing is with braid ( w 6' to 8' leader ) and a medium rod. Hookset is not a problem and pretty much have zero problems with line ( Nanofil ).

I've used the Nanofil about four trips now. I like it and just added it to another reel. I've been using the 10 lb test and I am pretty much amazed at the casting distance I am getting. It will outcast any line I have ever used, including Suffix 832 ( 832 was a 20 lb test though ). It does look slinky-like on the water but I have yet to have an issue with it ( birds-nest, ect. ). It handles well and I like the white color ( easy to see - I'm a line watcher ) and I use a floro leader so the color doesn't bother me. Knots have to be tied well as the line is slippery like a mono/flouro. It doesn't seem to be near as visible under water as the Fireline Crystal was. Am I going to strip the Suffix 832 off my other reels and replace with Nanofil ? No, but the next time I buy line I'll probably buy Nanofil if it continues to perform as it has so far. My .02 cents worth.

The last time I used Vanish ( about 3 years ago ) the Smallmouth of my lifetime vanished before my eyes when I bent over to lip it. Shortly after my Vanish line disappeared off my reel.
