I want to buy the right Float Tube
For a lake fishing bass I would go with one of these ones that you sit up out of the water with your legs and feet in the water with the oars. Will be much nicer.

I want to buy the right Float Tube
want kind of waters are you planing on fishing with the tube. Are you fly fishing or spinning/baitcasting. That one there should be fine for rivers, creeks and ponds. Now are you looking into a rod holder for your tube too. I have the old full round intertube tube float and like it but getting in and out is a pain. That one there you posted link to is easier to that, but again you have to look at the waters and type of fishing your doing.

Can I tow with a ford 6
WOW, all I have is a little Tacoma 4cyl. and I pull my 17' TX tracker, about 1 - 3/4 hour drives up into the Adirondack mts. to camp 4-5 times a year. But mostly still with in an hour to the house and my little truck pulls it just fine, take your time and I always make it. Have been thinking of pulling it from upstate NY to SouthWest VA this spring. :-/

Ice Fishing?
sure, if you want to take your son ice fishing, go for it. Dress him the same as if you were going to go outside and play in the snow, sledding, etc. And remember to bring extra glove, too. Here check this link out: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1134371099/0#0 a few pictures into it, there is my son at just less than 3 months old on the ice with me. so go for it, I've had him running and pulling in tipup line since he was 3 years old. Fish On!

bass nightfishing?
One of my go too's at night. I throwing big jointed jitterbugs, in black and red/white. It is awesome to throw that jitterbug out there, start reeling while watching for shooting stars and hear a hugh pop on the water and fell a tug, SET THE HOOK and hang on. Just about any top water plug is awesome at night along with the stick-baits too. If you know the bass are tight in structure, big dark plastic worms and pig/jigs are good too. So again, everything that works during the day, should work at night. Good luck, I love my time on the water at night.

Finding Topo Maps of lakes
try www.topozone.com if you stay in the lower scales, you can see the contour line, it doesn't show depth of water, but will show the natural contours ever where the water is. Good Luck

gess, the ice by late Jan. and Feb. we're normally up in the 18"-24" of ice and are driving our truck right out on the ice too. A power auger is most needed, 8-) the 1st few years I only had a hand auger and after hand augering thru 20"+ the arms are screaming.

couldn't relax? to worried about falling in? Yea, no good ice fishing down in fairfax, VA. My father from Roanoke, VA and has only lived in the south without anyice, a few years back wasn't to happy about the ice, too. but once the flags and the fish started rolling, it's all good after that. But, even still now after a few years under his belt on the ice, either snowmoblieing or icefishing, the Southern boy, just isn't at home on the ice. But, if you really get into it and iron out the bugs and the "skunks" it is awesome to get out on the ice and fish. ;D

Cool pics, chevy, those eyes are awesome and some crazy big fat perch. I have an old flasher like a Vexilar. But, I only use it when I'm over deeper waters and jigging. But, most of the time it is drill and error when you find a good spot, I mark it on my GPS. When your tipup fishing, just have to drill and go.

Medium or heavy shinners under a tip-up with 12# test line and #6 or #4 red-trebles, from 1'-2' off bottom. 8-) And yes, you still have to set the hook and pull them in my hand. AWESOME FUN

Ethics question
yep, I've use gills, whole and cutbait. Also have used perch while pike fishing, well my brother has, and caught a monster pike on it. So go for it, the bigger the bait, the bigger the fish.

AnyOne in here ice fish? And if so where abouts? Would like to share some ice fishing reports, pictures, and just plain talk about the cold sport of Ice Fishing. See how fun it can be. At first, I thought it was a little NUTZ, that is for a southern boy, fishing through a single hole in the ice, in the middle of a lake somewhere. And you WHAT? You want me to pull a fish out of that hole. ;D But, after I tried, it was love at first trip. Fishing in the winter , instead of being inside with the walls closing in on ya, waiting for open water again. I'd rather ice fishing And the best thing is sharing your love of ICE FISHING. My son at 3 months old. : And again at 3 years old. 8-) Now he is 5 years old and this year is going to be dinamite.
