  1. Just when it gets low on the spool. That always happens before it goes bad but I fish snag infested water.
  2. I think its just the nature of them. I have one and have tried everything to it. Complete tear down and cleaning, iv'e even tried to shim the noise out.
  3. Yea dont feel bad about it I bought some Z-Man worms and put them with my regulars. And the guys here pointed it out to me.
  4. Sharp! Wish they were in my tacklebox.
  5. I've been using 6lb C21 for my trout setup and I think its alright strength wise but twists up bad and doesn't hold up well.
  6. The fine should be higher since the size of the fish. In W.V. they started to base fines on Deer poaching on antler size, the bigger the buck the more it's gonna cost you.
  7. I looked up West Virginia's state records. Largemouth=12.28lb Smallmouth=9.75lb I'd like to break the LM so I could collect on the Mustad challenge. Everybody has their dream.
  8. I got mine but havent used it enough to give reliable feedback. It does feel and look good, no flaws. I'm happy so far just waiting for the weekend to get some more time in. Also should have a new smoke to put on it tomorrow. I know you want info on the rod so I will let you.
  9. I'll join if there's no problem.
  10. What is the breaking strength of 8lb Ultra-Soft?
  11. I made the choice today to buy a Quantum Smoke spinning reel I got it for $127 from TW on a price match. I have already made one mistake just hope this isn't another. I bought a Powell Diesel rod and a Abu Orra S reel. Love the rod but Im sorry to anyone that has one the reel felt cheap and was defective had to send it back(didn't have threads in it to screw in handle). This is why I ordered the smoke, I have had the chance to try one out and fell in love with it. My point is all I use are Shimano's and just cant say anything bad about them but the ones I have and tried on the rod just dont feel right with it. So that meant trying another brand and so far it hasn't worked out.
  12. I mainly use spinning rods for my fishing since where I live anything over 5lb is a monster. I suggest starting with one try to find a rod rated 1/8 to 1/2 oz MF. It would work for throwing topwater poppers, small walking baits, t-rigs, wacky, shakeyhead, in the range of the rod rating and 3/16-1/4 oz spinnerbaits. If you want to use cranks or heavier spinnerbaits and want to stay with spinning you will need another rod a MH to have the backbone to handle the lures.
  13. I hooked a beaver while workin a spook. On spinning rod with 8 lb it was a good fight but broke me off.
