  1. 3:16 rising son hudd 68 mattlures soft baits All of these will be fished best with a swimbat rod,and heavier duty reel. If you are talking about baits that you want to throw on regular bass gear, the skinny dipper, trash fish, and northland mimic minnow all get bit but you won't really be "swimbait" fishing.
  2. Big bass by a guy who fishes hard and most of us that live where there isn't 17 pound bass who live off of trout. It's easy to think, them baits are to big for me.Don't think like that if you are going to dabble in swimbaits it will just hold you back. Actually don't dabble in swimbaits you'll just waste money. You need to fish them hard. Good post speed.
  3. Slow. Just let the drift of the canoe move the worm most the time picking it up off the bottom when it hangs up. I prefer big worms or sweet beavers with just enough weight to occasionally bump the cover I'm fishing. Once I get going faster than a very slow crawl I go to a skinny dipper or a hudd. I rarely fish from a boat but when I do you'd think I was fishing live bait I move the bait so little.
  4. Everybody seems to be focusing on soft swimbaits but floating and slow sink hardbaits are way more fun to fish and most of the Wisconsin bass season you'll be fishing warm water when the hard baits work as good or better. I mostly throw 3:16 hardbaits but rago, triple trout,ms slammer, matt lures, and plenty of others make baits that will catch fish. They are expensive but if you buy one at a time and catch a bunch of fish on it (as you should anyways) before you buy more it hurts less. Matt lures hard gill, and 3:16 baby wake are great numbers baits to get your feet wet.
  5. I'd fish big top water baits,or hard swimbaits at night over points, road beds,or a flat.
  6. Heavier rod/reel/line maybe?
