Which Reel Would You Pick
Lews for me. Have a team lews that I like a lot and will most likely be getting the low speed TP for crankbaits.

Braiding A Baitcaster
- Braiding A Baitcaster
Yes. It will stop the braid from slipping on the spool.- Which Reel?
Wow your a stand up guy. Buy the way my phone has auto correct. Which obviously failed.- Which Reel?
Or you could think like human being for a minute and let people who want to use it a good deal on a real the may already want.- To Stradic Or Not To Stradic
I don't like the ci4 knob either. The eva is ok just don't like the shape. I like the patriarch eva a lot.- Strongest Framed Reel For Pitchin
I took it as he is cracking the frame. Which is why I said he needs to change what he does.- Strongest Framed Reel For Pitchin
There's no need for a hookset that will break a reel. That's so beyond overkill its unbelievable. The reels are not the problem you are. You gottta change your ways.- Feed The Monkey
I've never heard of this site. Have you ever used them. I want to order an mgx but would like some feedback from people who have used this site.- Abu Garcia Veritas
The cranking versions are in as well. They are listed under the regular section.- Dawia Aggrest Reel
I do not own one but the word on the street is your money will be better spent elsewhere. Based on what I've read about it I don't think you'll even find a daiwa fanboy who will tell you to buy it. The consensus seems to be its a souped up exceller.- Braided Line???
Yes, you can use braid with no problems with that combo.- Braided Line???
These days it seems most rods and reels can handle braid. Unless you using a $30 wal mart combo you should he ok. What did you want to pit it on?- Stradic Supertuned???
If your gonna have blind hate for a brand at least spell it right.- Seaguar Flour Problems
Is it only on one rod? If so maybe there is a nick in one of the guides.- Carbon Fiber Baitcast Handels
In my mind a carbon handle is 99% Bling. If I laid my rod down and it was reel handle down and something fell/stepped on it I wouldn't trust it at all.- Carbon Fiber Baitcast Handels
[quote name='Tom D.' timestamp='1319732045' post='1041865' Better? I wouldn't go that far, aluminum is strong yet its better at absorbing shock. Can't say the same for carbon fiber. Far as durable goes, I'd stick with aluminum over CF- Tip-Heaviness Of Rods
Yea there rods are all pre-balanced "I think". All I know is what I remember from reading the thread. I don't think its a weight system.- Tip-Heaviness Of Rods
I'm not sure if what they do exactly what your saying, but there is a thread in here about a rod from "6th sense" I believe is the brand. Never heard of it before. They use tungsten somewhere in the rod to balance it. Not sure if its in the blank or not.- Lews Speed Spool & Veritas/vendetta
Same story here but fewer rods. The veritas is the better rod.- Carbon Fiber Baitcast Handels
I would be interested. Depending on price and how they look. Can you make swept cf handles?- Palomar Knot With Fluoro, Yay Or Nay?
I use polymer knots for everything but flouro. It's a fact that flourocarbon can cut itself when using a polymer. My logic is its not about the 99/100 that it works its the 1/100 that it doesn't work.- Phenix Power Ratings?
I can't compare it to the umbx or any phenix rod for that matter. This is my first and I'm very impressed. As far as weight goes I do not have a scale to way it with, but it is very light. It's tough to tell in hand but it feels to be lighter than my 7'2 cumara. It also balaces a little better at approximately 3in from the center of the reel seat with a 6.8 oz reel. The tip is soft and works great for weightless plasctics or light t- rigs. It would also do a good job pitching but I think it may be too soft for something like dragging a 1/2 oz football head. Also the fast action is not as fast a the cumara similar to my cabelas XML. Any other questions feel free to ask.- Phenix Power Ratings?
I have the first rod already. It's the 714 and I like it a lot. However its a little under powered in my opinion which leads me to believe the 764 will be too light for froging even here in NY, but I have a feeling the 6 may be too powerful. This is driving me crazy though if they just made the model number 765 I would have already bought it. Maybe I will anyway. I think this rod could be exactly what I need to rekindle my love that I lost for my zillion. Anyway thanks for the help DVT it is appreciated. Maybe ill try calling phenix. If I get an answer ill post back for anyone who cares.- Phenix Power Ratings?
Thanks for trying to help, but we can't seem to get on the same page. Let me try to explain my question better. If 1=L , 2=ML , 3=M , 4= MH across the entire line shouldn't 5=H regardless if the rod is 1 foot or 50 feet? - Braiding A Baitcaster
