  1. It does that in all of them and the patriarch also. I returned a supreme thinking there was something wrong but apparently not. I read in another thread that it was due to a sacrificial piece of tape under the rotor that they used in painting. I have the 30 and 35 patriarchs but haven't bother to check for the tape it does not bother me now that I know they all due it.
  2. If you like gamakatsu try the superline ewg hooks. They are made from thicker wire and are much stronger. I use them for braid and other situations. When I need a stronger hook.
  3. I also really like eva. The 5 combos I use most are 3 cumaras with patriarch XT for casting and 2 veritas with patriarch spinners. All foam grips and knobs. Next combo is gonna be a villain rod with an mgx also all Eva grips and knobs
  4. If I needed a new rod for 140 I don't think I would look any further than the NEW crucial. If this thing is really the same blank as the cumara all I have to say is WOW
  5. Just looked at the new crucial looks like a really nice rod. It is built on an IM10 blank with alconite guides. I have a few cumaras and absolute love them, they are also built on an IM 10 blank with sic guides. I was wondering if anyone knew if the new crucial is built on the same blank as the cumara. It seems possible but I hard to believe. If it is this may be the best value out there for a quality rod. I would buy one in a heartbeat. Thanks for any info you guys may have.
  6. I'm up in the northeast too. My favorite color for zoom is by far glimmer blue. Last year a friend and I were fishing he was using pearl and even had a spray on scent I had glimmer blue and no scent . I out fished him 3 to 1 and it wasn't due to talent he's a good fisherman. I truly believe it was the glimmer blue, and can't believe I'm the only one to mention it so far. Honestly if not for glimmer blue I maybe would make a switch to the caffeine shad.
  7. These are the ones I fish with regularly CASTING 7"2 MH/F shimano cumara with pflueger patriarch XT 6"8 MH/F shimano cumara with pflueger patriarch XT 7"4 H/F shimano cumara with pflueger patriarch XT SPINNING 6"9 ML/XF abu veritas with pflueger patriarch 6"6 M/XF abu veritas with pflueger patriarch These sit at home G Loomis dropshot with old revolving premier 6"6 cabelas XML with daiwa zillion 7"0 cabelas XML with pflueger president 7"3 fenwick elite tech riggin stick with old pflueger president
  8. My most productive jig has been a 1/2 oz strike king tour grade football jig in Texas craw color with an okeechobee rage craw trailer
  9. although i do use a casting rod for senkos this is a very good point. when using a casting rod its a good idea to pull some line to ensure a vertical fall. On the rare occasion i use a 3 in senko i will use spinning gear but thats it. Using Yamamoto senkos will definately improve casting distance on casting gear because they are packed with salt and much heavier
  10. i have 2 cumaras both on a patriarch xt the 7' 2 m/h fast wich i use for jig fishing and the 6'8 m/h fast that i use primarily for senkos but i have thrown swim jigs ,neko rigs, spinnerbaits ,texas rigs and more and they can do it all. Ive been waiting to get a rod to pair up with a 3rd patriarch xt i have been sitting on and the cumara is the only rod that comes to mind. they make a sick combo.
  11. So far its been a glimmer blue zoom fluke this time of year its the best thing to throw where I do most of my fishing
  12. I don't push the limits too far when it come to.returning stuff but the truth is I don't feel.bad when I do. These huge chain stores of.any kind pay people millions of dollars to figure how to squeeze every penny they can out of middle class America. I know many stores that will knowingly resell a broken returned item. I have no respect for large retailers and I'm not going to worry about returning my $200 rod or reel when there CEO makes that in 5 minutes sitting on his fat useless ***
  13. I just saw shaw at a seminar last month and I got a pretty good look at it I'm about 90% sure it was a winged wire nut like an electrician would use
