Got out to black hills the other day. Caught about 6 crappie and 1 nice bass around 3lbs. david301 where did you catch those bad boys?

Hey guys, havent posted in a few weeks. Question. Anyone ever fish big pool? My dad went out there the other day..he had never been there before and I am not sure if its great fishing or what...any thoughts are appreciated

Great fishing last night at Black Hills. For me personally, I didn't catch a thing...I think I need to improve my tackle box, however I watched this kid on a boat pull in 3-4lb bass one after another down by the boat ramp to the right. One guy fishing from the shore caught one as well. Also, a group of spanish guys caught a 5lbr right under one of the docks and immediately ran to their car with it. The kid said he was using a popper. I tried anything from spinnerbait to lizard to frog to like a rapla minnow. I am pretty sure the spinnerbaits I use may be to large. Off to buy some new tackle before work today, any suggestions and from where??

Yeah it is very slow from the shore. I was trying to night fish black hills as well but everyone left the park around 8. I too had set up my rods with dark lures but when everyone left I felt awkward not to mention that stupid snake almost attacked me this time. I need to figure out a plan there. On those boats they rent to you will they allow you to bring you fishing gear?

Welp...off work it may rain it may not who knows but look out black hills here I come!!!! hopefully out until late!

Anyone heading out to Black Hills on wednesday the 18th for night fishing since the parks opened until 12 midnight? I get off early and plan on being out there all afternoon and night!

Thanks basser, Black Hills has been rough lately, all of a sudden there renting boats and stuff so it has been packed!!! Standing elbow to elbow trying to cast from shore. Thought I could make it out today or tomorrow however a girl called outta work so I have 0 days off this week and with rain coming this weekend I dont know when I will be back out. Hopefully it will be soon!

Hey Brian. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!. I'll be anxiously awaiting that pm. I ended up heading back out after my post, no luck. Tried fishing then a family thought it would be nice to take photos around me!. Anyway, ended up talking to a guy on a boat. He said he pulled out like a 8-9lb'r last week? He was trying to point me to a few spots but was hard to on the boat lol. Thanks for anyone willing to help I will def. be heading out there alot more this week and weekend!

Hey there, new user here. i am a young fisherman just 22. I am sort of new to this fishing thing. I have fished here and there growing up but recently go out every chance I get. Have been reading this forum for the past few days and saw alot of talk about black hills so I thought I would give it a shot. Normally I fish the monoc. or at dickerson. No luck at dickerson lately. Today I did venture out to black hills. started off slow almost hooked a snake going across the water ( terrified of snakes!). Since I am new to Black Hills I had no idea of where to go. I found myself on a dock over the water. I ended up catching a pretty decent size bass. My fellow fisherman, I like Black HIlls but would like some advice on spots to go where success has been had. I am fishing from the bank. Thanks for any help!
