Extreme Cleaning/super Tuning
i tried my hand at super tuning,i bought a cheap little dremmel , and appropriate sandpaper to polish pinion and other friction points, and one thing that i think is crucial, is flushing the bearings in lighter fluid, then while they soak, spin them ocasssionally, then flush them in rubbing alcohol to flush out the lighter fluid, as i believe i read the lighter fluid may leave a residue of some sort, and i wish i had acess to to yellow rocket fuel, as i read thats the best for bearings, i use ardent reel butter oil i believe its called, i spent many a hour reading up on super tuning, and many a hour trying it, it is worth the time and effort, i found a clip on you tube where a gentleman doesnt use grease, just sprays down gears with rem oil, but services his reels often, so the person says grease isnt neccesary if cleaned often with rem oil, which sounds good to me, as if there is a little grease on gears , it could splatter, and cause casting distance issues,, now , i dont know if thats true, it just sounded good,, but my reels seem like they could use a tune every 2 to 3 weeks, i go fishin to the same spots, and when im having trouble hitting certain structure, its tune up time, and its not realistic to pay for that to be done,,,so i had like 4 reels to be tuned every 2 to 3 weeks, and they do take a little time, one article i read from estimated about 3 hours per reel, , i didnt believe it, but sure enough , he was pretty accurate on the estimate,,this is my second season bass fishin, and first servicing my reels, i serviced a daiwa zillion type r , curado e7, revo winch, chronarch mg, they all had much better performance once i tuned them,,, im learning , and still learning,, i hope i helped,, basically in a nutshell,, flush bearings, and your good, and if you have time, give your reel the works, good luck

Summoning Reel Mechanics!
i think i know what your talking about,, im tired , and half read your post, so forgive me if im not helpful,, i tried my hand at reel repair, so i hope i can help,, i believe in usuing no grease anywhere, if you service it yourself, use rem oil on gears, and clean often, as you have to without grease, and if you soak rem oil in the base where the axle turns, that (sorry dont know names, just know by sight)it should break down grease, or better yet, use lighter fluid on base, and it will definatly makes handle spin better, but rem oil is probaly enough,, and it pobaly isnt a issue, so its up to you, and im sure there will be people that will dis agree with me,, but hey,, i ve done it , it gets better perfomance to me when all grease is gone from everywhere. but i felt like my reels needed service within a month, and i only fished a couple hours a day so,, depends on how much free time you have, as i was unemployed when trying to get into reel repair, ,,now the last thing i want to do after work, is tinker with a baitcaster,, hope i helped

New Curado And Chonarch Made In Malaysia?
All i want is the chronarch to be around 5.5 ounces, super smooth, good drag and under $250. But in reality, i hope whatever comes out is worth putting in my lineup. The rumors are fun. Gotta give tackle junkies something to do. I feel a little better now knowing the stradic is made, in malaysia, as people swear by them. I saw a pic of what was supposed to be the new chronarch,, and if it was a real pic, of the actual new chronarch, and not a decoy pic, it doesnt look like it can be too light, or as light as i want anyway.

New Curado And Chonarch Made In Malaysia?
I believe i read somewhere that the new curado, chronarch will be made in malaysia. Some say its the same factory as the one in japan, just different location. just curious to see if anyone out there thinks the quality will suffer. Im sure price will come down, as its cheaper to assemble there, but a new better cheaper chronarch or curado sounds far fetched

Hi Guys Please Help A Noob!
Good rods can be found at that price, Take your reel with you and try it on the rod before you buy it, The lower end shimano stuff can be heavy, maybe not all, but the ones i held, I saw a berkley amp rod for like $40, It was a 1 piece and seemed ok. The shimano clarus 1 piece spinning rod is good for a little extra, its like 70 i think, but it is in the quality zone,,, Try to get a 7 foot 2 or 7 foot at the very least.

My 1St Baitcaster... Now Need Some Direction
yeah i hate cutting line when its my fault.,which is always the case i suppose,,,.... as for when your done fishing, loosen the drag all the way, i tried my hand at reel repair, and learned from a gentlemen, and he says if you leave your drags tight after fishing, its like a couch on the carpet, the legs leave a compressed spot, so over time, the washer will begin to stutter because of the flat spots, i know for some reels you could use a fine wire brush, to smooth out bad drags. Im new to reel repair, so i cant say i know from experience , but it made sense the way he explained it. good luck ..

Floroclear Vs Seaguar Vs Yo Zuri Hybrid
if anyone has used all 3, what would be the smallest diameter, and cast the best. I know there are probaly pros and cons of each, i would like to use 15 pound floroclear pline, i used some seaguar that came with a reel i got, but i got a backlash and the line got warped, or something, as i am new to florocarbon i dont know what i did, but i dont want to waste a whole spool of line , as it is expensive stuff. Is this a problem with seaguar only, or do all florocarbons do it, the line wasnt smooth, it has bad creases in it, like it got mangled, it was casting fine before the backlash,,, sorry to be such a noob. any advice would help alot. thank you in advance
