Anyone Else Neglecting Their Spinnerbaits
Sometimes the bass have. Went to a place where one week the bass were almost insisting on spinnerbaits and then a week later...nothing. They had "moved on" to soft plastics. You just never can tell what fancy a bass might (or might not) have.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I'm pretty sure I'm preaching to the choir and i think the number of threads supports my contention but why, why, WHY doesn't the Bass Raider have more "hard points" for securing such things as cleats, fish finders and/or transducers, anchor mounts, etc?!!!! If it did, I think Pelican could really slay the aftermarket accessories market. I can think of at least a dozen things which could really optimize this boat. The Bass Raider is a pretty good product overall but it could be even better!

Kill It In The Turns?
I've not any experience with fast boats but IMO don't listen to your friend and, really, don't let him drive your boat. "kill it in the turns" might quickly grind down to "kill you in the turns"

Girlfriend With A Caster
Gardening is too much like work. My girlfriend is a gardener too. And not a fisherwoman. We see enough of each other already so that's okay by me.

A Good Beer
I hear Guinness is much better in Ireland than the stuff we get here-no preservatives I think.

Tired Of Line Twist
I had a pinnacle spinning reel which, for whatever reason, twisted the devil out of line. I oiled and worked the bail bearing to be sure it was turning freely but to no avail. Even though it was in perfect shape otherwise, I give it to a friend (with the requisite warning) as it was cursed in my sight. Myadvice: either switch to braid or get rid of it. Eventually, if it hasn't already, it will destroy more line than what the reel is worth- not to mention the headaches it will cause.

A Good Beer
Bought Michelob Lager because....well, because it was on sale. But I have to say it's a pretty darn good beer. I may have to get it again.

Tough Day Today
When the fish are biting tentatively, a lipless crankbaitj, with it's smaller than average back trebles, will lose a lot of fish. In Canada I lost something like 7 smallies in a row on rattle spots. I wasn't a happy camper after awhile.

Where Do You Draw The Line?
I'd let the bass draw the line. My rule of thumb, at least initially, is this: The darker or muddier the water, the darker (or sometimes brighter) the bait I will go to and the slower I will generally fish it. It doesn't always play out that way but that's where I begin.

No Such Thing As A Bad Day Of Fishing?
One day my bow mounted trolling motor ripped out of it's mountings (after getting caught in a tree root). Then, about an hour later, the transom motor had an electrical meltdown. Needless to say, I too, almost had a meltdown. Fortunately, however, whereas the day was windy, I somehow remained calm and reasonably well composed. THAT was a pretty crappy day! and I don't mean "crappie."

Ok People, Out With It!
Went out one day to a lake with flooded cattails. Couldn't buy a strike on soft plastics but white spinnerbaits were tearing them up. Fast forward one week. Same lake. Same cattails. Same basic conditions. Bass wanted nothing to do with spinnerbaits and, naturally, demanded soft plastics. Going out again on Thursday. I wonder what kind of curve they will throw at us this time. Post cold front-may be tougher.

Went Out Fishing Today People Are So Mean
I don't NEED to have ink done. I'm just waiting for my age spots to merge into a pattern. Everything ELSE being equal, my tendency would be to hire someone withOUT a visible tattoo. Sorry if you don't like that but get used to it. Life is tough.

Most Epic Success Of Your Life?
Hmmm...epic success.... Difficult to differentiate between success and being blessed, sometimes. Well, I somehow managed to get a masters degree (when I was scarcely a C student in high school), I receive an honorable discharge from the Air Force, and I have my house paid off (minus whatever taxes the "gubment" deems necessary). I have some friends, a sweet and devoted girlfriend, and a cat I actually like-even though I'd still rather have a dog. My health is good-relative to some. With regards to some earlier comments about divorce...nah, it's not worth the bother. Unless you've "been there, done that", you can't know what it's like. Glass houses.

Focus
Fish like absolute mad the first hour, stop, sit down, prop your feet up, have a coke and a cupcake, and then begin your serious fishing.

Bad Experience For First Tournament.
This guy sounds like an utter (insert vulgar expletive here). Every once in awhile we are treated to the lowest form of life and you got your experience out of the way early. Most people aren't like this rare "gem." Although I personally don't and won't fish tournaments, I encourage you to continuing. But establish some boundaries. I wouldn't EVER fish with him again-unless I could first get him in the sparring ring. I also encourage you to speak to the president of your club. Crap like what you had to endure will only stop if the powers that be know about it.
