  1. Nothing like sticking a bass with your own creation! nice one...
  2. Welcome! i'm pretty new to the forum too. I also live in VA Beach. Good go to lures here are senkos, crawfish, and purple worms. these are bread and butter for lakes and ponds around here! I agree with "Sam", B.A.S.S. Magazine is one of the best publications for seasoned bass anglers and beginners alike. -Sean
  3. Tobias, Are you still living/fishing in Virginia Beach? I know this thread is old, but I live in Virginia Beach and agree with Wdy. In the spring you also might try a crawfish soft plastic. good colors would be brown and orange, black and yellow and any dark blues or greens. A red or purple 7.5 inch Culprit worm work wonders on summer evenings. you will be surprised what you can reel in from the shore or a decent dock. you might try Western Branch Reservoir, there is alot of info on that lake. I also use Google earth religiously to find places to fish from shore (i dont have a bass boat either). tight lines... -Sean
  4. The weirdest thing i ever caught was a baby duckling. (i know...i have no soul!) The best my wife and i could figure was that it had dove after the lure while flippin and pitchin near some over hanging shrubs. i thought momma duck was going to land on our heads. Anyways, the screaming duckling reeled in (awful excuse for a fight), hook removed, antibiotic applied and released back to momma duck!
  5. Hey, My name is Sean. I've been snooping around the forum for sometime now but never started a membership til now. This should go without saying but I love to fish especially for large mouth. there's so much to learn and so little time to fish! I hope to gain alot and give some back too if I can. I live in a heavily overfished, highly restricted (lots of private property that I can't fish) area, so I hope to perfect my skills to pull in the big one in the city lake! Fish alot cuz life is short, Tight lines y'all!
