It really is a shame, but having this go all over the internet is the best thing that can happen. Hopefully they never get a chance to rip people off again.

Gas mileage is SO much better on the newer half ton trucks (and I mean just within the last few years). I wanted to get an F-150 eco boost last summer when I got a truck, but I got such a sick deal on one of the remaining 2013 F-150 STX's that I couldn't pass it up. The gas mileage is pretty good still, 21-22 highway and 16 city, I average over 18 mpg over all. The STX came with the towing package and suspension and also a transmission cooler. It is rated to tow 9000 lbs so a bass boat is not bad for it at all.

Went out to "tick hole" yesterday after work to catch a few from shore in the shallows. I caught a nice one on the first cast and immediately was met by wind and clouds which killed any hope of sight fishing. Only stayed about an hour, but will be going back on a better day this week. I believe this is the same "tick hole" from Iaconelli's videos on YouTube. I will not say where the actual location is! This place can be awesome though!

Hard paper magazine sales are not profitable anymore, that is why they are disappearing. As for B.A.S.S. declining, have you seen how many of the "rookies" this season are FLW pros? I don't see either league declining at all. As for the rainy day comment, GO FISHING! That is all I have to say about that. You'll find they can be some of your best days.

I did not realize that was still his total weight. The way posters above made it sound, or at least the way I interpreted it, it seemed as though he had to release bigger fish. I do agree with slot limits as far as actually keeping fish, don't get me wrong, but I think that livewelling a fish that will eventually be released needs to be a clear distinction from keeping. As for tournaments that the fish will be released from in the end anyways, I think there needs to be exceptions. I would love to see what size fish come out of a legitimate tournament on Dale Hollow Lake or something, but you can't "keep" 5 smallmouth, or so I have heard. I don't see why an exception cannot be granted for a tournament where the fish will all be released anyways.

Man I hate slot limits. I wish we could see what he really would have had. The state should grant exceptions for tournaments that they know will be livewell and then release.

I've got about 75 bass already. I think that's pretty d**n good considering where I live and the fact that its only been about 4-5 weeks since thaw and I work full time.

I've always used a Palomar knot with jerkbaits and I haven't lost a jerkbait in 3 years. That was using 10-12 lb fluoro and recently copolymer.

These do look really nice. I have liked most rage tail stuff so far so I might as well pick some of these up when they are out!

For me personally it is definitely a spinnerbait. I fish it so many different ways and times. Overall though I would agree with what seems to be the consensus, and that is texas-rigged soft plastics.

I used to rig mine with a Gamakatsu 5/0 EWG; these toads have a pretty thick body. My one issue with this bait was always hook up ratio. It has a pretty thick body and it is not a hollow body; it doesn't just compress on a bite. You definitely need a wide gap hook to make this work well.

It takes 6-8 weeks people. Calm down and wait a little longer! It is definitely worth it if you plan on fishing BASS affiliated tournaments (or with affiliated clubs). Even without getting any gear from them it would be worth it.

I have done much better with a spinnerbait for smallies if that type of presentation is working. I usually use the chatterbait if there is too much grass or too thick of weeds for the spinnerbait. The chatterbait comes through them clean as a whistle 99% of the time and the fish smash it right when it comes through weeds or grass. Granted, this is usually a largemouth presentation. I usually use a spinnerbait for smallies because the water is usually open near the surface. In the end, it all depends, though!

There was a 7.88 lb largemouth caught in that lake in a tournament last summer. That is the only bass I've seen bigger than 2 lbs out of there, lol. We are from the Poconos! I actually play poker down at the Sands all the time though and I go to Allentown occasionally. Thanks for checking out the videos!

That's a great start!

Went out to Promised Land on Saturday, AKA land of the little fish. Pretty much every fish in the like is between 10 and 13 inches and not very heavy. We always make a Spring trip here just to see how many little fish, and mostly little pickerel, that we can catch in one day. We broke our own record and caught 103 fish this time; 79 pickerel and 24 bass. I made a little joke video that I posted below. If you just want to see the one big fish, skip to the last minute. My buddy caught a 5lb 3oz pickerel. Biggest I've ever seen.

After a good rain storm like this, if you can find any areas where there is a lot of runoff coming into the lake you can probably catch a bunch on almost anything you throw. That would be where I would start. I'm sure there are fish engorging themselves on whatever food is being pushed into the lake at those spots. I'm sure a worm could work, but me being me, I would start throwing a spinnerbait in those areas first just to see if they're hitting it. I'd jerk it around too to make the blades flare out in any current there might be.

Yeah. Once the main summer time hits, the day time can be really difficult with all the boat traffic. Gotta go up the creek in Ledgedale in the secluded area or go really deep. Either way it isn't easy.

Wallenpaupack always takes awhile to warm up. My family is from the Stroudsburg area (45-60 minutes from Wallenpaupack) and it is consistently 5+ degrees colder air temp up by the lake.

I was throwing one of the Strike King KVD jerkbaits in sexy shad and an old school Smithwick Rogue silver with black on the top. The sexy shad Strike King jerkbait has always worked well there for me. I have never tried anything with an orange belly though, so if you do let us know how it does!

It's gonna be cold still I would assume. It can be tough. If the water is between 46 and 51, go to the bridge by the south end of the lake near Ledgedale. It's at the very end by the river that feeds it. You can always catch at least a few smallmouth on jerkbaits around the rocks there this time of year. Half of the fish in my video above were caught there. I hope you catch a bunch!

I use 10 or 12 lb line for either technique depending on water clarity and how deep I want the bait to go. 12# is more common for me with jerkbaits and shallow or medium cranks, 10# for deep cranks. As always, it depends!

Always find the grass. This time of year though the warmest water will be in the canals in between Lake Hopatcong and Lake Shawnee. You have to go past Brady's bridge and then to the right to get there. It is really shallow but it is probably 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. I have done well in there in the spring. In about 2-3 weeks when spawn is in full swing Hopatcong will be the land of giants! I'm not exactly sure on the water temperature currently, but if it is between 45-50 degrees you can do really well with a jerkbait on the outside of the grass areas where the water is a bit deeper.
