  1. Looking for opinions on what the best techniques to use these setups for? Im looking to minimize the time spent changing lures out on the water and more time concentrating on actually fishing. I find myself constantly "trying" to figure out what i "should" be throwing than actually throwing, or just fishing one setup cause Im not really sure what to throw on what....give a newbie a hand?? So these are the 4 setups i got... Pflueger Supreme MGX Spinning 4000, St.Croix Triumph, 6'6 M/F 20lb Power Pro BPS PQ, Abu Garcie Vendetta 7'0 M/F 30lb Power Pro Lew's Tourny, Abu Garcia Veritas 7'3 MH/F 40lb Suffix 832 Lew's Tourny, Dobyns 734c H/F 50lb Suffix 832 I do have some idea of what to throw on what set up as Im here everyday pretty much reading, learning. But do to the fact that I only and Can only have 4 setups at the moment It seems that Im going to need these setups to do double duty as I see the majority of you guys have a setup for every technique which is not feasible at this point for me. Please give me some direction so I can stop running around in circles an actually have fun fishing...LOL!!!
  2. So I've been reading here that big worms are a good bait to throw in mid summer. So my question is, what do I throw it on, rod, M,MH,H...reel, line, etc? How you would rig it? My main concern is the line, I got four setups all running braid from 15lb. to 65lb. And the one I'm thinking I really want to throw it on is a 7'3 H/F Dobyns with 50lb. Is this NOT a good idea?
  3. Hahaha...I thought you were...Asking... Why polarized glasses! I couldn't imagine fishing without them. Just yesterday I made my buddy wear em...let's just say...we're fishing right now an my buddy's got a new set of shades...hahaha!
  4. So I'm looking to pick up some worms while there's July 4th sales going on everywhere. I've been wanting to try these and they seem to get good reviews and results, so I decided to get 104 pc kit, its cheaper than two bags of Senkos, I get two sizes, a ton a colors, and 3700 box. That last one is actually my question, I always leave all my plastics in their original bag and then put them into a big container, its going to take me awhile to work through 104 sticks, how well are they going to do loose in that container?
  5. Not necessarily true...If your fishing ANY kind of structure, Senkos will start to tear apart were the hook enters the Senko, whether T-rig or Wacky. And if your putting Any kind of back into your casts, once again they will start to tear. For wacky set up I myself use the Gama Wide Gap Finesse Hook Weedless with the shrink tube method an its been far an away the BEST Senko saving system so far. Im still losing them just nowhere near the rate as before. But in the end as been said here before...they catch fish an thats what were all trying to do here right...LOL Just the name of the game!!!
  6. Braid: Suffix 832 Mono: Suffix Siege Dont use Flouro... maybe i should??? Just tried PP #10 on my light spinning rig an Really like it, so Im thinking about trying some on my other rigs.
  7. This is what I do, pretty easy an you end up knowing pretty much exactly what you got on there. That being said...you guys think this over filled...
  8. Sorry for bringing it back ...Hahaha I got a question though So I ended up getting the 7'M V1 got away with it for $29 plus tax. I finally got a chance to put a real on it..PQ 6.4.1 an some 40lb Suffix 832 on it this morning and was going to get out with it today but unfortunately it started to pour out... after recalling the 10 pages a lot of guys here saying...like the one above...first cast snapped the rod... So my question...would it be a really bad idea to use this set up, specifically the rod, with horny toads?
  9. Yea, to bad I need a Lefty an all the really good deals are on the the rightys...but still some good deals for sure. But that is where I was going to pick it up from. I think im just gonna go with the Tournament.
  10. Whats up guys. I cant decide between these two for my first baitcastor? I really want to purchase something of good quality as I've read here and other places that its really common for people to buy a cheap castor and be really dissatisfied with the experiences then ultimately giving up on it. Plus this will be going on my Dobyns Savvy which deserves something better than a cheap reel hahah. So that being said as my first setup will i even see the difference between the pro and the tournament? I would say I'm not really being cheap but the price difference is considerable when in the end if I really cant' as a beginner know or even see the difference?
  11. HAHAHA...The rod in my dominant right hand is absolute...which is the reason righties using righty reels confuses the hell outta me.... There is NO way i could work the rod, IMO the harder/more important part, with my left hand... Im righthanded....
  12. Well it looks like 7' is out of stock. You think think it'll come back at this price? My buddy missed out so hes contemplating on getting the 6'6 an then trying to return it for the 7' at this this price, when its in stock again. Think this will work...LOL! Is this just an online price???
  13. Screw it... I'm buying one. If I don't like it I'll give it to my budy...
  14. I'm so tempted to buy one of these, seems like a really good deal. Although I really need MH, anybody know if the Vendetta 2 is like the Veritas where the MH is more like a H, which is what everyone says .... that way the M vendetta will be more like a MH...that would be awesome.
  15. Hahah i hear you, i should be receiving the PQ Tue and would love to pick up a rod asap so i can get out in the yard to start practicing so im not cursing the world when i hit the water. I was actually looking at the Mojo Bass...was hoping Dicks would have a sale since i got some points on my account. So how heavy is the MH, heavy enough to throw a 3" frog in Heavy cover with NO worries or go with a heavy?
  16. thanks for all the suggestions. But I ended up actually picking up a pro qualifier instead figuring it would be better to pick up something a little more quality it would just be better in the long run. But now the question is is what rod do I get...Hahaha since my spinning set up, a 6'6 M st crox triumph with a pfluger Supreme reel, hi in 10 to use my lighter stuff, I'm looking at a 7 mhf with braid for the heaviest stuff Again, its my first bait caster set up so I'm not looking to spend really more than 100 for the rod since the PQ ended up costing me $80 on sale I really don't want to go over $100
  17. Well Im going to be picking up my first baitcaster tomorrow, Im pretty exited. My question is, I dont want to spend more than $100 on my first set up, but I have read and do agree with the thoughts of, dont waste your time/money on a piece of junk. That being said this is what Ive come up with and was hoping to get you guys thoughts or even more, better suggestions.... 1. Abu Garcia Black Max Combo $60 2. Abu Garcia Siver Max / Berkley Amp Rod $60 3. Bass Pro Shops Tourney Special Rod and Reel Baitcast Combo $79 4. Abu Garcia Silver Max/Cabela's Tourney Trail Split-Grip Casting Combo $89 The reason I choose these is because I need a Left hand retrieve set up. Again I know you get what u pay for but I really cant do more than $100. Thanks guys.
  18. Thank you so much, see i didnt realize the hook was actually going through the worm to...I couldnt find a picture of it, once again thank you. Really looking forward to trying wacky rig this year...I got an unlimited amount of black an clear shrink tube from work...hahaha! Now in the pic I see the tubing is not in the center of the worm, Is this preference or can it be placed anywhere? Sorry if this is not the right place but...How, when, and where do you typically wacky rig? Oh an what size hook are you guys using. Sorry if these are dumb questions, its my second season of fishing an i love it. Just trying to learn as I havent used anything other than Texas Senko.
  19. could someone explain how to rig the shrink tube method
