Why No Lews At Bps
They do have Lews. It is BP brand and Revos.

Do You Think Anyone Will Ever Catch ' The ' Bass, you Know The 24Lb Monster
,Having spent the past 50 years chasing the WR bass, I hope someone somewhere catches a new record. So have you ever seen or hung a world record? Nothing like a good fish story, especially a true one from a man who is credible.

Baby Angler Names
I would never name a kid that wasn't some sort of family name, but if you are going to just make up a fish name how about Anglin, Mariner, Fisher, Fish, Shakespeare (Shakin or Shake for short), Flipper, Ranger, Skeeter, Catfish, Okee, Toled0, Sam Rayburn, Tennessee, Tex (Short for a great bass fishing state), Roland, Dance, Houston. I have known or heard of people named after most of these. Heck of it is, your son will probably hate fishing if you name something for it. Known many a "Hunter" that was more of a city slicker who never spent a day in the woods. Your boy will probably want to be at his band meet on Saturdays, and you will be there too.

From 1Minute 56 Minutes To 25 Seconds
Listen to the men who work on reels for a living but I believe right here is your right answer if you want to change your reel again and make it behave the way you want it.

Tatula Vs. Lews Tournament Mg. Vs. New Curado.
Get yourself a new Curado I. It is a way better reel than the others and leaves them in the dust. Taking a distant second would be a Tatula. The Revo with the different badge comes in third.

How Much Line Should I Spool? And How Can I Tell?
Neat post aavery2. Here is my method. It involves trial and error at first. I only use it on high dollar line and don't sweat the yardage on cheap mono. I happen to use 50 braid a lot. I always put 75 yards of braid on the top, so I put mono on, and then I add 75 yards of braid and see if I have enough or t0o much mono. If there is not enough mono, I pull all the braid off and I add a bit of mono. If there is to much, I pull the braid back off and take some mono off and repeat the process. That sounds complicated, but once you have the right amount of mono to properly fill your braid or floro, you can either market your spool, or just not worry about it at all. The braided line spools I use are normally 150 yards. I possibly could third it into 50 yard sections, but I prefer to half it into 75 yards. I have a place in the yard that I have marked out to 75 yards. I tie off on that spot, walk to the spot 75 yards away, tie the line to the reel and walk and reel as I go until I have all the line pulled onto the reel. Very accurate, very simple, and if you ever get the proper line amount on your reel, and you remain constant on your line size, you can do this from now on. The only problem with my method is if you are constantly changing line size, and if so, AAvery2's math will be the only way you can quickly solve the problem without trial and error.

Bark River? Wheewww. Now there is a great customized knife for cutting braid and fishing!

Reel Oil?
Based on your wants, I was going to suggest ABU lube, rather than their oil, assuming that is not what you are talking about. Have you tried 3 and 1 oil? It is pretty thick.

Braid Cutting
One has to remember, there are a lot of girls on the forum. You can't really tell by their handle. So fingernail clippers and snips are pretty common. Maybe even the norm. Don't even ask about hook sharpeners. They use nail files.

Braid Cutting
I think that OP stated something to "cut braid". A sharp knife will do it. And it will cut it off the O rings as well. I don't use a lighter after tying. Just an overhand knot cynched down to the main knot, just for safe measure.

Braid Cutting
What is with all the metrosexuals carrying snips and such. Get yourself a pocket knife and be a man. Spyderco, Benchmade, Buck, Case, Kershaw all make great knives that will slice enough braid for a lifetime with a few sharpenings. I have a lot of knives, but when I bought a Spyderco Delica Full Flat Grind with Japanese steel, I quit buying the others. Love my Bucks though too.

How Old Is Too Old
That is a good question. It all depends. You won't be outgunned with a mid 90's IM6 All Star or that era GLoomis, Castaway or Falcon and I've got 20 year old Calcuttas that work about as good as new. So my theory is this. Upgrade when there is a game changer. Shimano changed the game with "Instant Anti-Reverse" with their use of a one way bearing and weighted spools that are adjustable. Prior to that Diawa changed the game with magnetics. I really believe that you can buy a 15 year old Shimano BSF and or Chronarch SF and nobody will have a reel that will outdo yours. And that is 15 year old technology. Rods are a bit different, as they are supposedly more and more light and sensitive. Put a $34 6' 6" inch Berkley Lightning Rod in KVD's hands and he will catch more fish than 99% of us posters on any given day, so rod sensitivity is only moderately important.

Buying A Baitcasting Reel
Assuming you can't find a used Calcutta, do yourself a huge favor and buy a 4600C3 off Ebay in new or like new condition. It will fit your budget and perform with the best of reels for years to come with a little maitenance.

C&r Rant
Call in sick(if you are really dedicated just quit your job) and sit in your boat and follow him around all day long. Get a drone(you can get a cheap one for a few hundred dollars) and put it over his head and shoot pictures of him. If you get a good enough drone you can tell the difference between a keeper and one that is a half inch short.. After you have collected a bunch of photos send it to the law game warden and have his butt hauled to jail.

Bps Pro Qualifier Bc Reel – 5 Year Challenge – 4 Years Down, 1 To Go
Go ahead and indulge. Yeah, technically we may be hijacking, but the PQ guys appear to enjoy calling names such as bots and posse, so it's all in good fun. This board would be boring without differing points of view. I have some from the early 70's ABU's as well. Those were good reels for their day and decades later, if maintained, good as they ever were. Heavy but built like tanks. Replace a pawl every now and then and you are good for decades. At Guntersville this last spring I looked on the deck of a boat of an old man (appeared late 70's) who was hard of hearing who got very close so we could converse, and on his deck were the Chronarch 100A's and Black Abus with knobs on both sides. He was so old I was worried if he should be out by himself. The stories those baitcasters could tell. LOL There was a dark era in reel design in the 80's. Actually in the early to mid 80's there were some breakthroughs, the ABU Ultracast spool AKA super free and Diawas magnetic braking. But basically the reels were graphite junk. Then in 1992 with the debut of the Shimano Calcutta the modern reel was born. If there is a missing link between humans and our ancestors, the Shimano Calcutta was link between the old technology and the contemporary baitcaster. And really, almost nothing about them has changed. They were engineered that well and really that was their only secret. Take what was good and worked and perfect the tolerances and create instant anti reverse. You can use a Calcutta and you will never be outgunned or "out reeled" by any reel, assuming you need the gear ratio it had. They eventually upped the speed. Everything else is just some sort of copy, including other Shimano models. To stay on point, the PQ is an excellent borrow design of the Curado 200B (low profile cousin of the Calcutta) and Goose has possibly proved it. It isn't all that different than the Gary Yamamoto designed Senko and the BPS copy Sticko. Lead, follow or get out of the way, BPS is a good follower and excellent loss leader marketer. Come let us give you a PQ for free ($80 for that reel? Come on.) and we will double our money on the soft plastics and other fishing gear and clothing you buy. But BPS will never, ever change the industry the way Shimano did. Maybe no other reel manufacturer ever will. It was like we were using rocks and stones for weapons and they invented gunpowder. Or maybe a better analogy would be we were using muskets and they designed the modern rifle. Not knocking BPS stuff. Love their stickos and my mid 90's 7 MH Extreme that was well worn when I got it at a pawn shop has caught me countless bass. Love that stick! I remember when BPS sold them with the $119.00 Shimano Curado for $129.00. Did someone mention BPS knows about loss leaders. LOL

Bps Pro Qualifier Bc Reel – 5 Year Challenge – 4 Years Down, 1 To Go
Don't try the Chronarch then. I might re-read my posts, but I didn't mean it as a rant. Opinion, admittedly. Opinion of a lot of people. Many consider the dated Curado 200B to be the finest baitcasting reel ever made, and they can be picked up in like new condition for $100. They hold their own against saltwater, which can't be said of many reels. The surf boys love em. Did I back this opinion by 5 years of almost daily use? No. 20 years of weekends if I'm lucky. Kind regards.

Shimano bot short circuited. Buy the Shimano and quit worrying about it. They are not good reels at their price point. They are superior reels at their price point. I would love to see the trash bin that BPS has for all their returned reels. Got a Johnny Morris. It ain't all that. Drag is pathetic. It is supposed ot be superior to the PQ. Going on a trip of a lifetime. It would stay in the garage for sure.- Bps Pro Qualifier Bc Reel – 5 Year Challenge – 4 Years Down, 1 To Go
The one PQ that was tested is solid. It could be an anomaly. There are Chevy Chevettes and Dodge Neons out there with 300,000 miles. Get yourself a Chronarch and forget about it. Shimano is the best period. Every other reel maker aims at them as their goal, and bows before them. There are 20 year old Chronarchs in the locals boats that frequent Castaic, Clear Lake, Delta, Fork, Guntersville, Falcon, Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Kentucky Lake, Toho, Okeechobee, Eufala, Amazon River, etc. that are still running solid. Why buy a Korean made Kia when you can own a Japanese engineered Toyota or Lexus? Or any Dodge truck when you could buy a Ford, which are clearly superior if you study Consumer Reports carefully.- Moved Back To Middle Tn (Need Some Help)
Pick any TN River lake. The ones within 2 hours of you are some of the best in the US. Priest can be fun. - Bps Pro Qualifier Bc Reel – 5 Year Challenge – 4 Years Down, 1 To Go
