  1. I agree with all who said to forget about fishing for yourself and focus on the child. And yes, they need to catch fish and don't care if it's a bass or a bluegill. It's all about the kid catching fish
  2. Can't comment about Pinellas county but the canal fishing by me.....St. lucie and Martin counties is so-so....Crappie better than bass
  3. Exactly. My last ride was an old towne canoe that I rigged up with a trolling motor, outriggers and some fishy extras. It was a great fishing platform, but it just got to the point where loading and unloading was too much of a chore. I'm really limited to space so a trailer isn't an option. I just missed fishing from own boat and after some research realized that modern materials and methods can put me back on the water. Progress is a wonderful thing.
  4. I'm an old hand at bass fishing but a complete newb to kayaks. Not being as young as I used to be and not having room for a trailer, I decided the only way to get back into it was with a lightweight Kayak so after shopping around and demo'ing a few I dropped the hammer on an eddyline Caribbean angler 12. weighs 45 lbs and I can slide it in the back of suv with some orange hunter ribbon and a bicyle strobe taillight to make me as visible as possible. Fortunately I have some productive water within a mile so I won't be travelling far unless I decide to go to the bay for some snook and redfish. All in all, I'm very excited about getting back into fishing http://eddyline.com/kayak-model/caribbean-12-angler
