it looks like you just put the plastic onto the screw type bait holder but I wonder if anyone is 'secretly' threading the bait onto the hook

Ned Rig=fantastic
Outstanding! what kind of plastic were you using?

Brackish water bass reels?
Down here in Florida there are canals, lot's of em. they run fresh, but toward the mouth they mix with the salt creating some very cool fishing opportunities I have been in canals where you could catch LMB, and snook on the same trip. I've acutally done it, but am concerned how the slightly water would affect the reels. I use a Daiwa steez, a Daiwa Sol, and Daiwa TDZ's all beautiful reels in excellent condition and not cheap so I wouldn't want to ruin them, but man, I just can't resist catching bass and snook at the same time!

anyone catching crappie on finesse rig while bass fishing
I guess pretty much any lake that holds bass will hold crappie and vice versa finesse bass fishing seems all the rage these days, so I can't help but wonder how many crappie are scoffing up the little jigs like the ned rig. I'll bet a lot

A little taste of the space coast (video)
that was outstanding! what a thrill it must have been. I was doubly glad to see you were in kayak. they can really take you to the spots silently. great work!

chatterbait techniques
As with ALL baits there are various ways of fishing it that will work, but it seems with chatterbaits the PREFERRED method is slow and steady. thanks to all who replied

cheaper alternative to senko's
I usually buy too much of everything, but eventually they run out. It's time for me to re-stock my senko drawer, but hey, thems is some pricey bait. they've always been expensive but they work so dern well I just kept buying them. but right now I'm open to trying something else. There are other stick baits out there that I know BR types are using so let's hear from ya' . the only catch is THEY GOTTA CATCH BASS.................if you get my drift ......HeHeHe

chatterbait techniques
I'm wondering how y'all fish the chatterbait? straight retrieve, vary the speed, sweeping motion etc. like any bait there are a lot of ways to fish it, and they will all work at one time or another, but that being said most baits have a "best" way, that can vary from lake to lake. What's your 'best' technque

Organizing my tackle
I've been bass fishing for a loooooooooooooooong time. Way longer than most of you whippersnappers have been alive. so it goes without saying that I have tons of tackle. Most of it hasn't seen water since Noah and the flood. well, almost anyway. so I need to make some room and in order to throw out useless wifey crap, I had to demonstrate my own willingness to sacrifice. Man, what a chore. It actually was a labor of love, going through the old tackle boxes finding lures that are no longer made, and some that shouldn't have been made LOL. I did manage to thin out the herd by about half which is pretty good. Will donate the still good but no longer useful to me stuff to the police who sponsor free clinics for kids along with a local club. It took me three days to go through it all, but it was fun, and oddly satisfying on that deep level no non-fisherman could ever understand.

Can we talk about finesse Casting rigs?
I guess deifinitions can vary. To me, a finesse technique is all stealthy and quiet. Based on this definition flipping a 1/2 oz. jig silently with no splash using an 8' rod and 30lb test line is finesse fishing. On the other hand "ultra light" is a whole different ball game. I don't know many baitcasters that can easily cast a 1/16 oz jig under an overhanging limb for bream or crappie. I am truly a baitcaster kind of guy, but this talk of 'sissy stick' is just stupid. KVD uses spinning rods when he deems it the best choice and no one would ever call him a sissy.

closed loop spinner baits.
do you find you get better hook ups and they hold the hold the fish better than regular spinnerbaits? After watching the icast video it looks like the body of the bait could run out of alignment with the blades. do you find that to be a problem?

closed loop spinner baits.
Nobody that I can find is making spinner baits that have a closed loop line tie. The all use the U bend. The ones that do use closed loops are small like strike king mini spins or beetle spins or of an ancient design using rubber skirts and other vintage materials. So I guess if i'm going to have closed loop spinner baits, I'm going to have to make them myself. Is there a company where I can buy the parts that I need to make these? thanks

kayakers, how do you transport your boat?
I have a 2014 Honda crv which is not a big suv My local lake is a mile away, so transporting my 12 foot eddyline to it is a simple cargo area deal with a couple of bungees but for my longer treks I need to car top it. I have the factory installed roof rails and crossbars, but I'm still not sure which kayak transport system to attach. I'm only 5'6" so the j hook system probably won't work for me. How do y'all get your yaks to the lake?

fleck spinnerbaits
back in the early days of B.A.S.S. a big winner on the circuit were fleck spinnerbaits. They are nearly impossible to find now a days, but I am trying to buy some. I like them because the wire where you tie the line to the bait is a closed loop. I actually think this is why they lost popularity. some pr man decided to market his companies spinnerbaits as 'superior' because the line tie area was not a closed loop thereby exciting bass by blah blah blah. anyway. does anyone know where I can get these? They were made by lunker lure and called Fleck weed wader spinnerbait. and yes they were great in weeds. I can't even find them on ebay. I would consider any other closed loop spinnerbait but it's the fleck I'm really searching for thanks.

People In Long Island/nyc
Before moving to florida 11 years ago I fished all over Suffolk county. I agree that forge pond can, or rather was a pretty good pond by L.I. standards. I say was only because I haven't fished in nigh on 15 years. But I have caught big bass in there. I won 2 contests with 7 lb class LM's. You do need a boat of some kind. all the popular bass baits work, one of the biggies was caught on a bush hog spinnerbait and the other on a Johnson silver minnow with pork rind. both are excellent in the weeds good luck

Kayaks and flipping jigs?
I caught a 7.5 lb bass on a spinnerbait fishing from a 14 foot jon boat. that sucker towed me a good 20 feet. And then there was the time I caught a 22 lb carp on 1/16 th oz. crappie jig. No lie. I was fishing for crappie using the ultra light outfit under a bobber. the carp just inhaled the jig and towed me and the jon boat nearly back to the dock before I could land him on 4 lb test line. It was one of more memorable days on the water.
