Couldn't Resist Price

I respect Shimanos gear and they make awesome reels for sure but us Daiwa guys get the cream of the crop. I agree, in the $100-$200 range Shimano is the best value, but once you get up to say, $250, it's Daiwa all the way. My Zillions make a Curado look like a $10 reel. I agree with this as well, Daiwas are high end reels and if you buy a cheap one you get a cheap one... but a good one get a good one.... buy a great one get a great one... All priced accordingly

Lol and if you fish Shimano you get a reel that is Re-branded painted has a bearing taken out of it and called the next higher model... I guess all you gotta do is paint it white and black and call it a step up even tho you took a bearing out of it and charge more now thats a joke! I guess they didnt make enough off the tooling of the Citica and curado E's so they updated the bread and butter reels and down graded a highly sought after line of reels by making it a 1 less bearing painted white n black Curado. and then taking the tooling for another reel and building a ALUM frame and calling it a Citica and curdo, even tho all the tooling is a Ceanne. Daiwa will limited edition a reel or super tune it and release it for sell but they wont paint a Aggrest and call it a Zillion... or dress a Zillion up and call it a Steez.... Shimano is funny, I used to fish a lot of Loomis rods Pre Shimano I havent bought a Loomis rod other then 2 NRX's and sold off one just to try them because Shimano owns them now and they just arent a Loomis anymore.

Man I Hate
Bluebasser I totally agree it makes me SICK and SO MAD to see someone keeping bass to start with and would eat me alive if it was big fish. All my mounts are replicas I never do skin mounts because Im 110% C&R this is the first time ive ever brought one home EVER and its only because she died in the live well after me doing everything I could I turned on raw Oxygen, added Chems, some Iceto slightly drop water temps.. I have really good live wells in my Z-9 and know how to treat fish for release she just wasnt coming back she bled way to much to quick.

Man I Hate
I HATE AND I MEAN HATE Hooking bass bad and killing them it makes me SICK I hooked a soild 7# fish right before dark this evening on a Lucky Craft jointed wake bait and she just inhaled it and you could see where it tore loose a few times and re hooked her in the gills and tore them to hell and back... she was bleeding so bad I put her in the live well and loaded it up with Release Chems and she just wouldnt come back so I took her home, cleaned it and fryed it for my little girl.. She always is with me unless its tourney time and she cried so hard knowing it died... Anyone else like this? like it really truly upsets you really bad to kill a fish? Its part of the game some are gonna get hooked bad and die and thats just Bass fishing, I just REALLY try and keep it from happening and thank god it doesnt much or I would stop doing it probably it really makes me feel that crappy that I took its life for my fun. I know I sound like a Tree hugger and trust me Iam not, Its just taking somethings life really bothers me, and I HATE hooking them in the eye really bad it bothers me a lot too... Heres a pic of the pretty girl with my 4 Y/O holding her I got her to not be upset by making her be pretty and smile for the cam lol... But its sad seeing such a beautiful fish die.

Beginner Baitcasting Tips
If you have the breaks clicked off and then you cast and they pop on WOW you have a hella powerful cast! must be like spool speeds of 80,000 RPMS!!!! LoL just kidding if thats happening there is something wrong with the shoes they shouldnt be able to slip past the click from casting.

If you take them off and then you are back lashing I think it because they was never off to start with you only thought they was, there is no way unless something is wrong with the post/shoes that you could engage a break that was turned off casting.

Tips And Tricks On Casting A Baitcaster
I dont fish spinning gear hardly at all however I will say this when using spinning gear you will release the line later in the cast pointing the rod more to the target when casting side arm, with Casting reel you will release sooner with the rod pointing more to the right side of the target (This is if you are a righty and cast right handed) and if you release at the same point you would a spinning reel you will go far left of target. check it out, cast at a target side arm with your spinning reel and see how much so the rod is pointing at the target when released and then take a casting reel and you will see that the rod tip doesnt come close to pointing at the target as much as the spinning rod does and you release will be far later as a result.

Made Out Like A Bandit!!!
I made out like one at Acamedy last week.... I bought them out lol for re sell I only fish Daiwa reels but couldnt pass this up to make a pretty penny!! I got 6 Calcutta 250DC's and 3 200DCs for 201.99 each! out the door I paid 1817.91 and have already sold 7 of them Avg 410.00 each lol... I think I may keep the last 2 200's for my self I casted one and was wowed so Im pretty sure even tho I only fish Daiwa I will make room and put Daiwa stickers on the 2 and use them for bombing Lipless cranks! Whats funny is I went there to get some Flappin shads and spend 20 bucks and came out spending 2000 bucks after all was said and done, I also got 8 spools of Sufix 832 for 8 bucks a spool.

Yozuri Hybrid Breaking At Knot
Ive always called that a 3 tag knot and its what I use for FC lines, it WILL slip if used with braided lines but for FC and mono its a AWESOME knot.

Best Pole Size And Line Weight For Deep Crankbaits
My main DD crank setup is a Daiwa Zillion Crazy cranker (Great reel and has gobs o torque) Sunline Shooter in 12# Steez flexlite 7'2MH. This combo is deadly with every deep crank ive ever used, it handles 1oz plugs sooooooooo wonderful! I like the shooter because it has very very little stretch less then any other FC ive ever used and allows me solid hook sets at the end of a very long cast... no mushy feeling with that line and if you set your drag good you wont break a fish off unless theres a line failure some where or a bad knot has been tied.. I used to use braid a lot for deep cranking but if you do you need to use a much softer rod or you will loose fish due to ripping the hooks out mainly at the boat side but if you use a softer rod braid is a great deep cranking line.

Having Trouble Staying Hooked Up With Hollow Body Frogs!
your not really on slack line to much when frogging over the slop so you will fill the fish quick I love frogging and do it as much as I can and IMO Im very good with a frog... when the strike happens the moment I feel the fish I stick the heck out of him I use 65# Daiwa braid and a Steez XBD Frog rod on one rod I have a Zillion Type R on the other XBD I have a Super Tuned Steez, Drags buttoned down and bust them hard, your not going to break that heavy braid unless theres a line issue some where between you and the fish... so you can stick them hard, those frog hooks are thick and most have long points so you gotta move the hook a good ways before you pass the barb.... also dont set the hook off to the side stick her pulling the rod straight up and dont back off or give her an inch keep all you got on her till you pull her loose, the more you give the more you will get pulled down in the trash... the longer you wait to set the hook the more she will get you down in the junk because she hits it and swims right back down... so the faster you can stick her the better just dont stick to quick or you miss her its a fine line and what makes a good frog guy. If you arent hooking 85% or your hits theres a issue and if you are landing 90% of your hookups theres a problem, frogging isnt tons of missed and lost fish like some people make it out to believe.

Your Choice Of Best Pitching Rod. 200 Or Less.
A good stick for a about 120 bucks is a 7.6 Flipping/Pitching stick Its a Daiwa S model. I used to fish them when I was on a budget not something I would fish anymore but they are a very good rod for the money. fairly light and well balanced and pretty sensitive really. I mean IMHO in they cant be beat for the money... If you wanted to go a little higher then 200 the Daiwa Zillion F/Ping sticks are very nice rods. IMHO a short handle on a F/P rod would be not so good you want that long handle for leverage to pull them out of heavy cover, plus you arent going to find a NON custom F/P stick with a short handle, you would have to have one built for you because 99% of ppl prefer a longer handle on that type of rod and a shorter handle on a F/P stick would throw that stick WAYYYYY outta balance it would be so tip heavy it wouldnt be funny...

Do I Need A Baitcasting Setup?
Once you fish a high quality casting setup you wont want to go back to spinning once you learn how to use it. you could get you a decent BPS setup for that price range, Im a Daiwa guy but I would really try and find me a Citica E for about 65-70 bucks and then a used stick for about 70-100 bucks.. I have seen a few IMX's for about 100-120 recently and thats a heck of a deal on a very nice rod.

G Loomis Nrx Recomendations
find you a Daiwa Fuego 2000 on the Bay for about 140... or the TD-A 2000 on TW for 99.99 is a very nice reel and a steal at that price.
