  1. if you look around you can find a new Daiwa Cielo TDCEL 6101DSS for 130-150 and let me tell you this you cant touch another rod for any where close to that and it be even half the rod it is... Its the SAME blank as the Steez sticks are with SVF Graphite... When TW had them on sell a while ago I bought gift cards at 10% off and then bought them when they was 119.99 (marked down form the mid 300 range) and 15% more off that so I got them at 25% off 119.99 and bought 12 I believe.. I fish mostly SUPER high end JDM sticks but those sticks at that price are awesome and you will love one.. That model will do what you was asking about in spades! Check them out they have been sold out of most retailers/etailers for a good while now but you can find them for a great price on Ebay, In fact I just bought a new TDCEL 661DS casting rod just to have it a few days ago on ebay for 72.XX shipped from Simmons sporting goods. The ones I bought are mostly unused and bought them because of how nice a stick they are and the deal Ive only fished with two the TDCEL 701WJ casting stick and the TDCEL 6101DSS spinning rod and both fish just like my Steez sticks of similar size/action they are just a tick heavier but very sensitive and well built with great action/tapers.. Anyhow check them out I assure you if you get one it will go head to head with ANY stick in the 350.00ish range and can be had for great prices with just a little searching..
  2. The resin is different, the graphite is the same but like whats been said the resin is different and that is a BIG part of the blank.
  3. I mainly fish Sunline FC's and Megabass Dragon call.. Sniper is a awesome line and I just bought 4X spools of 20# 4X of 16# 4X of 12# 4X of 10 and 4X of 7# its a really good FC and I bought so much because its my #2 FC and at that price I should have bought more. paying for ten spools and getting 20 cant be beat!!! It has some stretch to it anything under 10# but its not overly stretchy but handles just about as good as the softest of Monos... My main FC is Sunline Shooter the stuff is awesome if it was buy one get one I would have bought 400-500 worth and got 1000 worth of line!! but to bad lol Im used to paying 40 bucks for 164 yards lol... if you are looking for low stretch FC this is it, in 22# Ive bent out Owner 5/0 Wide gap plus hooks and if you have used those hooks that have a Extra hvy wire and are super stout hooks and Ive opened them up when punching matts with 20-30 feet of line out and stick them really hard... with 7-8# you will open up light wire hooks if you have the drag to tight and set the hook hard... its not as low stretch as braid but its VERY LOW stretch, Abrasion resistant and good handling line.. I well say this 7# shooter needs at least a 2000 size spool on a spinning reel and better a 2500 size spool because its a pretty stiff line and will spring off if the spool is to small L&L helps but still needs a bigger spool to handle well on a spinning reel, I dont fish spinning reels hardly at all but the two I keep in the boat a Steez 2500 and 2508 are both spooled with Sniper 2500 with 8# and 2508 with 7#. I use Sniper for Shallow cranking on 4 rigs in 10-12-14-16 on Steez 103 reels with Steez Flexlite sticks.. the line is solid enough to provide solid hook sets on long casts and not stretch to much with a lot of line out, If I used Shooter in the same number tests I would tear off a lot more fish due to hardly any stretch. IMHO the only line that compares to shooter is Tatsu and I have used it but like the sensitivity and long distance hook setting power of Shooter better. Sniper is IMHO the best handling FC on the market period but does have a little stretch to it... I will tell you this and maybe give you a better idea.. = Pound test its slightly less stretchy then Berkley 100% and to me quite a bit less stretchy then Invizx. 16# Sniper about the same stretch as 20# Berkley 100%. this should give you an idea of what the two lines will do for you.
  4. I bought my wife a 9030 Patriarch and she likes it both of us only fish Daiwa reels however she loved the blue and had to have one so I bought it for her (I fish only Casting reels no need for Spinning reels I have Pixys and TD-Z 105's for that) but I do have two Steez spinning reels a 2500 and a 2508 for when its really windy and Im skipping docks normally I skip with a Steez 103 but one those windy days sometimes a spinning reel will allow me to get it farther back depending on how the wind blows... Her Fav spinning reel is a daiwa Exist Native Custom on Custom built Loomis GLX stick. but this reel should be her fav and the best she owns as you can buy 4-5 Patriarchs for what it cost. I know im running off subject just want to let you know she knows what a QUALITY reel is and feels like. She Loves her Fuego 2000A and I'm willing to bet the Ballistic is going to be close in performance to it for 100 bucks less. she fishes about 50/50 Spinning and casting reels. The patriarch she said is a very nice reel and pretty smooth not so much as the Fuego but once again its a 100 dollar more reel. she hates to things about the Patriarch #1 the drag its smooth buts its a light switch (Her words I asked her what she thought about the reel to reply to this post so Im typing what shes saying) you have locked down and then a very light drag setting and very little in between so when you try and back the drag off it will get to light with very little mid range adjustment and when you try and tighten it its the same thing it goes from to light to to much and no matter the settings that how it is. and #2 the reels a bit to close to the rod handle because the reel seat post is to short (And she has small hands) and makes you have to adjust from your other reels for feathering the spool to control distance and it takes a bit of getting used to and in till you do what will happen is when you move your finger to feather the line you will hit the spool and stop the cast in till you get used to it and when you switch back from another reel you will do it a few times till you adjust again. other then that she says its a great reel and she loves it. but would take another Fuego in a heart beat for it and will be selling it soon in trade for a Ballistic 2000. Her advice lol is get you a Daiwa PX Type R and forget about a spinning reel shes in love with hers... and I have 5 for a reason to and wanting one more.
  5. Never touched a Fenwick stick I dont have but a few minutes with one in hand as all I fish are Daiwa reels however I can say they are nice reels for the brief time I fished a Skt Revo when a Non-boater that was fishing with me wanted me to see what I thought about his setup. really smooth casting reel that bombed a 3/8th oz Red Eye shad a very long ways with ease on a Duckett cranking stick. Berkley 100%= very low on my list of FC's... My Evergreen Black raven (Ive bought 2 and thinking about 2 more my all time FAV stick out of all my Evergreens, Megabass, Daiwas and Customs. my #2 fav stick are my JDM Daiwa Steez Harriers I have three.) W/a Daiwa TD-Z Type R And 16# Sunline Shooter FC. This is by far the SWEETEST T-Rig setup Ive ever fished. (My other Black Raven has a Pixzilla built on a Airy Red.)
  6. double san diego jam or Three tag knot are the knots I use with my Sunline FC's 12 and under pound test I use the double san diego jam and over 12 is the T/T/K.. On Megabass FC's (Dragon call mainly) ties best with a palomar knot I have had knots fail on Sunline FC's with a well tied Palomar knot never with the other two, Im VERY OCD with knot tying and ALWAYS take the time to tie perfect knots.. On the Megabass FC's palomar knots are king and are the strongest but once again arent the best knot with Sunline FC's (These are the only two brands on FC's I use so cant speak for others) I believe the reason that the Palomar knot is great with Megabass lines is because M/B FC's are much softer then the stiffer/harder Sunline top end FC's and the harder/stiffer lines will cut its self with a Palomar knot and the Softer and more supple Megabass FC's dont/wont cut its self. Main thing with any knot tied with FC is that you lube it well and KEEP THE KNOT LOOSE IN TILL ITS AT THE HOOK EYE THEN TIGHTEN IT ALL UP SLOWLY!!!!!
  7. Anytime I have a Custom built I do it with Fuji Ti/Sic Micros they are pretty much awesome and I love everything about them other then this one thing if you are fishing in algae chocked area and using braid the line will pick up a lot of it and will clog up the tip and one or two guides below it and it will get on your nerves after a while. I love them so much I just had two Steez Flex lites rewrapped to Ti/Sic micros because they do increase casting distance by a good bit and I wanted more distance out of my 7' Med and my 7'2MH for bombing lipless cranks and the 7'M for smaller square bills... I still have one of each of the 7M and 7.2MH that I didnt change over to Micros for times when the water has lots of junk floating on top and I dont want my Micros clogging up on me. I also had one of my 7.1 Compile-X rods swapped over to Ti/Sic Micros as well and IMHO they are very sensitive rods to start with however side by side with my other one both have same reel (TD-Z Type R's) same line same lures and I will say the one with Micros is more sensitive by a noticeable amount. so I totally say go Micro SO long as your area is coating in film or algae real bad so you dont clog up all the time, or if you have another rod you can use when it areas like that and same the Micro rod for cleaner water. if having a rod built you can have the builder go up one size on the guides and that will pretty much stop that.
  8. I also got Dicks real good to, spools of 300YD Fireline braid was 19.97 and 75% off that I bought them out I got 8 spools of 30#, 8 of 50# and 8 of 65 I had a coupon I got from a girl scouts coupon book I bought for 20% off at dicks on orders over 100 bucks so I got them for a total of 104.58 I also got 6 spools of 300YD 40# Sonic braid for 3.83 a box because it was 75% off the discount price. I killed them on Strike king spinner baits, buzz baits, King shads and a LOT more, I spent a total of about 200.00 and I would be willing to bet I got 600 worth of lures for 200 bucks and thats not including the line. I was buying Rage tail stuff for like 60 cents a pack and R/I Flirts, Sweet beavers and more for less then a buck a pack... The deals that are going on now are crazy... I bought three Sustain 2500's for 92 bucks each about 3 weeks ago and I dont fish ANYTHING but Daiwa reels needless to say they went to Ebay and I more then doubled my money on them... I missed the Citicas and curados or I would have bought all they had to resell... I did get5 Carrot stixs at 99.97 and 75% off that I also sold and made pretty good on. Check the dicks in your area the sales are still going on but well picked through... I dont know if its all stores but its at both in my area.. 75% off all tackle thats on sale... the 75% on rods is over now its only 25%.
  9. Not sure how many I want to sell right now but I will surely let you know if/when I do thanks and have a great day.
  10. yes I bought 6 this AM and he is right 149.99 with your CC visa. that card has been a money saving machine when buying from them... Most everything in the B/B is discounted even more when bought with your CC visa. I bought a 1600 dollar Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25X50 30MM ILLUM REC scope a few weeks ago for 732.99 I bought 2 of them they had at that store, I normally only shoot Night Force scopes but wow that is a sick scope for even 1200 bucks but at less then 750 WOW insane deal and I would have bought more had they had them. my CC visa knocked them from 999.99 to 732.99 each a CC that saved me 500 bucks on a single transaction is MY KINDA CC LOL!!!
  11. I was at a local Gander Mnt store and I found a Lot of LC on sale for 9.97 and 50% off that so less then 4.50 a pop I bought 20 100SP Pointers in American Shad 10 100SP in Aurora black 5 78SP in American shad 5 78SP in Aurora black. 10 G-splash in American shad, 3 in Aurora black 13 Fat mini SR's all in A/S 9 LV 300S and 20 packs of Berkley Havoc devil spears and spent a total of 380.70 I bought all the LC they had I will resell enough to get my money back and keep the rest. I got a total of 75 LC lures the Havoc stuff was 1.00 each.
  12. I just ordered 6 of them what a deal Zillions with 4BB handles for 179.99, I bought 6 and thinking about ordering two more.
  13. I snake heads a lot and have tons of fun doing I wouldnt use many of my Steez sitcks for them but I have caught plenty of them on my 7.1 Complie-X and never had a issue but the four setups I use for them when thats my target fish is a Steez SVF-XBD frog stick/Zillion Type R(Tons of power very light and plenty tough) Awesome combo, two Zillion 6.9MHXF/Steez 103's and a Daiwa Light and Tough frog rod 7.4Hvy and a Zillion 100SHA. The Steez XBD is a big money rod and I bought 2 of them for frogging and flipping matts for Large mouth of course but decided to snake head fish with one once and was amazed at the job it did so it goes with me most the time when chasing heads however I WOULD NOT BUY IT AS A SNAKE HEAD ROD!!!!! The 2 6.9MHXF Zillions are awesome snake head sticks, Tough, light and plenty sensitive for light biting bass and with the normal Head bite it feels like a bolt of lightning lol... The L&T Frog stick is IMHO the perfect Head rod its TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH, fairly light and has enough feel to get by with and has GOBS of power and the next time I buy another setup that will be used for just heads it will be another L&T Frog rod and Zillion 100SHA the rod is 145-150 and well worth it as it will handle them and you wont have to worry about breaking sticks with that rod and it has the power to yank that out of the nasty stuff and also because its a cheaper priced rod and you wont be scared to really lean on it when fighting them.
  14. the most comfortable seats made are on the Steez rods, I love the seats that are on the Daiwa L&T rods and also the seats on the S rods are very comfortable... as far as ECS and ACS I like both, I have big hands and both are a fine seat, I love the looks of the ACS and if I have a custom built it will always have a ACS on it because they look sexy.
  15. I dont fish spinning reels much but when I do it will have Sunline Sniper FC on it, pretty much if you are having 10# jump off then the spool may be a little to small for that heavy of FC so drop to 8# that will help a lot if you can get away with a lower LB test line. also I NEVER spool FC line with the spool flat, I spool it just like I would a bait cast reel with a lot of tension on it then let it sit for like 30 mins and it stays put just fine.. On Spinning reels I never fish more then 8# test and the smaller DIA line will be more limp and sit on the spool better then lets thicker line plus Sniper is a pretty limp FC as well.. Now if I spooled up with Shooter I would have to drop down a pound or two in test because its a much stiffer line. The spinning reels I use are two Steez 2508 and a Fuego 1500A and have no problems with 8LB Sniper and 7LB shooter so long as it was spooled how I said EVERY TIME I have spooled a Spinning reel with the spool laying on its side I have had line twist like it was tied to a boat prop at WOT, spool it with the line coming off the bottom (On Sunline lines) like a bait caster and bingo no problems never. I still make sure its coming off the spool the same way its going on the reel and on Sunline lines that will be line coming off the bottom of the spool some lines are different (Toray off the top) also I DO NOT use any line conditioners what so ever, and Im sure they help I just wont spray that stuff on any of my high end reels but to each their own. Anyhow good luck with it and just make sure you spool it like a casting reel and spool it tight and you will be good, if its still doing it check your line roller and make sure it isnt stuck and causing the line to twist slightly and that will cause it to jump off the spool. The fail say to stop it is drop to a smaller pound test limper line.
  16. Its all in a persons hands buddy, you may think a Ugly stick is sensitive and you may think a Steez isnt.. I have plenty and each and everyone is a very sensitive stick and its not just because I bought them and have to tell my self they are to be happy Plain and simple they are VERY sensitive sticks. To me my Steez 7'1 Compile-X's are more sensitive then a NRX 854C and I had one sold it and kept the 853C the lighter in action 843C is about the same as the 7'1 Compile-X as far as sensitivity is concerned. Ive never fished a rod that I have felt each and every strike on theres no rod that can do that... however I will say pitching with 22# Sunline Shooter FC on the Compile-X feel 95% of the strikes even with a good bit of slack in the line. when a rod is as light as ALL the steez are they cant help but be sensitive sticks. Take the 6.3MHF Steez SVF and that is one of the most if not the most sensitive sticks Ive touched EVER even tackletour agrees that it is one of the most Sensitive sticks they have fished read the review. If you cant feel bites with ANY of the steez sticks then thats just how subjective sensitivity is to each person. To me you can take a Steez flexlite and worm with it and its plenty sensitive and with a moving bait you feel EVERYTHING. If you dont think a Steez is worth the cost then a NRX is a joke because IMHO the Steez line of rods are built with such detail and quality that if you arent buying Megabass or Evergreen you arent getting the same detail or quality as the Steez sticks I have NEVER seen a Steez that was built anything less then flawless, my first NRX had to be sent back because the thread wraps on 6 guides was a absolute joke. Not saying loomis are awesome sticks and super high quality as they are and I enjoy the few loomis sticks I still on one NRX and 2 GLX that I would never sell I love them. The comments made by both of us are right and wrong at the same time its a hugely subjective matter and thats why I said "One of the most sensitive rods IVE ever fished" but IMHO no one can say none of the Steez family of rods are not sensitive rods because they are.
  17. Daiwa Steez SPX Mega Top 6'10" Med Lt. that rod is BEAST the best ive ever fished at the job you are looking to do with it, I dont fish this setup a lot other then when thats the only way I can catch them good but when I do fish Shaky heads, Small jigs, 4.5in worm 1/16th oz T-Rigs, custom poured 3in flukes and even wacky rigged trick worms this Steez SPX/Airy Red Pixzilla will be on call. Spooled with 10# Sunline shooter or 15# Daiwa Samurai braid/Toray BAWO Superhard Premium Plus FC leader (When its really deep water and I have a lot of line out I use braid/FC leader for hook setting power, you dont need braid even in deep water for sensitivity the rod has plenty even with copoly it has plenty) and this combo is AWESOME at its job, one of the most sensitive rods Ive ever fished and the tip of that rod shakes a shaky head like no other... and the rod is Med Lt but has plenty of back bone to handle good fish, Ive caught plenty of 4-5# fish and one real close to 9# fish on the setup and it handles them very well... The rod doesnt feel like it will handle big fish well in your hand but once you hookup you will understand you have plenty of rod in your hand. I know its A LOT more costly then the ABU rod but if you fish those types of baits a lot then its worth its weight in gold this rod will deliver in spades EVERY TIME. If you want a silly light super high quality stick for this duty you can not beat this stick even going custom you will have a hard time beating it.
  18. LMAO a reel thats under a pound, and WOWOWOWOWOW A rod and reel thats UNDER TWO POUNDS!!!! People we are in for a REVOLUTION!!!! Mikes a dummy lmao.. I do love the IVCB system in my AE74's... and Im really glad they brought that breaking system over to the US its the best CEN breaking system out and almost as good as Daiwas Magforce V-Z... I Only fish Daiwa reels and two AE74's and have two new ones in the Display case... I can say that I will buy two or three of these MGX's just because I love that breaking system and this reel will cast light baits close to a Steez 103 I would bet I mean its not gonna Replace a TD-Z105 or Pixy family of reels but it will go light and still handle heavier stuff to because its an Abu... I think this is gonna be a nice reel and will change things up some as people will FALL IN LOVE with that breaking system... If you have never used it you will be in for a treat when you get to, its very liner hugely adjustable its one of the best breaking systems ever made it controls the spool really good even in the low settings allowing for really high spool speeds, I mean my AE74's are some of the best casting reels I own and will throw ANY bait 3/16th and up and thats own 14# FC on a Evergreen Black Raven so just think of what they will do on a lighter rod with lighter line? and Im willing to bet this reel will do the same thing.
  19. LOL Anyone remember them? I bought a BIG bag of them ten or more years ago in Red shad I think it was a 500 ct. bag and Wow they are some stupid looking things but WOW have I been killing them and BIG fish on them over the past month.. Ive caught two over 7 on them and lots of 4 and 5's and tons of little guys... I have used probably 100 of them in two half days on the water. I think I may have to buy more if this keeps up, I believe its because its something the fish havent seen and they are jumping all over it at Lake Kissimmee. Anyone else catch them on those worms before?
  20. rboat and BB HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!!!! Well put my friend Well put!!!! Big fish grow slow, there are plenty of them in the lakes I fish and I catch many big fish and kill very few that I know about... Its just tough to kill a big fish knowing how long that fish has been alive and top of the food chain in those waters in til it makes a mistake and grabs the wrong lure... I have PLENTY of big fish lakes around me, I have Lake O, Stick marsh, Lower St johns, Kissimmee chain, Harris chain and many more all within an hour to 1 and a 1/2 hour drive. I have big Golf course lakes that I have access to fish and put my bass boat in that no one else gets to fish... but still kills me to see a big fish die. North GA We see you dont care to much about C&R as your Avatar is you holding a Bass in your house...... Fishing for food is far out dated because you can go to Walmart and buy a 4lb bag of Tilapia for 11 dollars... one plug along cost 2X that much for most of what I fish. anyhow keep on sticking them fellas and have fun!
  21. Think the Zillions Smooth??? Fish the New Type R Zillion, now that thing is SMOOOOOOOTH
  22. lol yeah, I have 4 of them I love that rod SO much, IMHO its awesome for Pitching, Big worming, Big jigs and punching I need two more lol I bought me one Steez XBD a while back and wow what a frog stick but then I used it for punching really heavy matted grass and loved it so much I bought 1 more just for punching the super heavy stuff that Is to much for my 7.1 Compile-x's. They are really good about replacing the Zillion rods to! My dad broke a 6.9MHXF from high sticking a 6 1/2 pound fish and it was totally his fault and they replaced it no questions asked without a receipt as well. He broke a L&T Frog rod and a 7.6 Daiwa S pitching stick a few years ago and once again flawless customer service and lightning fast returns. the S rod got broke in the rod locker cause him being stupid and the frog rod broke on about a 15LB Mud fish that sucked a frog down and got way down in a thick hydrilla matt and he was REALLY leaning HARD on the fish (We knew it was a mud fish) and POP broke it about 6in above the first guide.. So anyone that has a problem with a Daiwa stick dont be scared to call them if you dont have a sells ticket they will take care of you 100% I have never once heard of them turning down a rod replacement.
  23. Red Earth, The comment about mind your own business is dead on, If someone wants to keep fish thats them even tho its not right in my mind and many others as well but hey do what you wish but take to many big fish from a not so large lake and you will have issues after a while its a fact.... keep a fish just to do it to make someone mad? says a lot about some people in the sport. Raul yes you are right it happens and it was the first nor will it be the last, my point in the post was to see how many others really truly care about killing fish that you didnt want to. I would guess 95% of real bass fisherman are C&R and care about releasing the fish healthy... If my OP was read you would see where I said I know it happens and thats life but I hate it and it makes me feel really bad I hate killing any but really hate killing a good one. I have let 13LB fish go without even a picture as to get them back in the water lightning fast I want the fish to be in as good shape as it can be after I catch it. sure some are gonna die and some arent but when they do does it bother you or do you just not even think about it again was what I was getting at. it upsets me but if Im in a tourney my main worry is the Oz I lose for a dead fish so its not the biggest deal there is but it does bother me enough to try to prevent it any way I can. 90% of the time I fish Barbless hooks unless its tourney time and yesterday was a rare time I just tied on a bait that was in the tourney bag and it was barbed. I really wish the fish would have gotten off but of course it didnt, if that would have been in a tourney it would have came off first jump lol. Anyhow Im not worried about it because some people express rude comment on a simple subject because this is the net and people like to run all different ways and turn it in to something different then what was Said/asked. I got what I wanted to know and thats most people care enough about the fish to have bad feelings of killing one and that makes me happy to know our sport has evolved in to a true sportsmans sport and C&R is at a high and hopefully gets higher! Thanks all for the comments Im done with mine tho before people starting getting cranky about there views.
  24. I mean I dont let it ruin my day or anything but I feel bad I dont like killing stuff but I love bass fishing and that part of it sometimes and you gotta live with it. its just it makes me feel crappy that I took its life.
