Scary Day At The Ramp
That or it happened somewhere where they still float logs as part of logging. I think you'd have heard some screams from the other boat if they weren't expecting it, but they sure didn't appear to be panicking or crying about losing their tow vehicle as I would expect if it were an actual boat launch,

Someone Tell Me How This Works.
I don't know what they mean by that, but I frequently give cranks just a little slack when I bump something with them

Share Your Heartbreak Stories!
Here's one. Was out with my dad trolling for lakers on L. Superior. Landed a monster of a lake trout, came in at 40" and fat, bottomed out our 30# scale. Well, we get back to the ramp and I am trying to figure out where the nearest certified scale is, I want the cool master angler patch and a chance to get on TV. By the time I find someone to ask my dad has the thing filleted, said he just could't take a chance on the meat going bad. So the end result is I never got an actual weight on it, I say 30 lbs, he claims the scale was broke and it was 25 lbs, didn't get the recognition I wanted for landing that one, and had to eat one of the worst tasting lake trout to ever swim. Truely heartbreaking.

Fisherman Interrupted (Girl Interrupted....get It?)
Yea, but unlike Ike, don't let your moodiness get the best of you and start breaking your rods when the fish you want don't bite.

Need Help On Chosing Crankbait And Crankbait Color
If I can find any that aren't crappie sized I may try some, I can guarantee the fish around me haven't seen anything like that in awhile. For whatever reason, I can do OK with about anything as long as it isn't primarily bright chartreuse.

Explain Please
Well everyone is going to have a different style, and different companies rods feel different, so its going to be hard to get two opinions that are exactly the same. Here's my theory. The faster action and stiffer the rod, the more feel you get from it. So, when fishing bottom baits, jigs and soft plastics, a slightly heavier faster rod helps transmit information better. With both soft plastcs and jigs, you not only have to drive the hood through the fish, but also through a weedguard or plastic usually, and a more flexible rod will absorb much of your hookset. Keep in mind that with spinnerbaits you are usually already retreiving the bait and bass tend to hammer them. The rod is already flexing to some extent when the fish hits, and, imo, they get hit with enough force that they probably usually hook themselves.

Need Help On Chosing Crankbait And Crankbait Color
For me anyway, the most realistic looking cranks haven't really done as well as baits that offer the right shades and hues in a less lifelike pattern. Same thing with profile, I'd only throw minnow baits or flat sided cranks if I wanted to match the hatch, but there are alot of times when the traditional rounder styles work well even though I've never seen bait in the shapes most manufacturers offer. So, IMO, go for the depth and action, and then get some natural looking colors, but don't get too hung up on it looking just like the prey.

Topic For The Middle Age Fishermen
I received some gear from my grandfather I considered junk. Put it in an auction and found out other people felt differently.

7 Biology Questions About Bass And Crawfish?
We used to catch crawfish every spring out of a seasonal pond behind our house. Was nothing but submerged grass and mud, and dry 8 months of the year. Closest permanent water source was 1/2 mile away. I don't think they need much to survive.

Fishing Fast Waters
Also, don't overlook inline spinners. For the most part I cast slightly upstream to give the bait a chance to get down than work the bait as the current takes it down. Basically letting the current do the work and not doing much if any reeling until either the current gets too slack or I am past where I think the fish are.

Fishing Fast Waters
There can be some good fishing below dams for summer smallies. Pretty much anything will work, the rivers I fish mainly run shallow, so shallow cranks, minnowbaits, grubs or tubes on 1/8 oz heads all work. Thing is, even though the current appears to be moving fast, there are usually alot of rocks breaking it up.

Fireworks Or Pipe Bomb?
He was definately trying to make a firework, I would still classify it as a pipe bomb. I don't know or really care which government agency questions him, dumb drunk tourists are a part of life for us most of the summer. From what I heard there was no fuse, he just lit the tube in his hand

Craw On A Worm
It kinda reminds me of the craw worms they sold in the '80s tbh. Haven't seen one in awhile, though

Topic For The Middle Age Fishermen
Its not the gear, its the stories and memories that go with it imo. They just will want cash to buy their own anyway

Trout
For lures, as mentioned smaller spoons, spinners and minnowbaits. I have gotten more numbers on spoons and spinners and a little better quality on minnowbaits on average. For livebait, worms are the usual summer choice, and salmon eggs will get you any trout type fish in the river around here in fall or spring. Stand a chance of stream trout, salmon or steelhead with those.

Fireworks Or Pipe Bomb?
Watched this guy get airlifted out Saturday as well.. its not every day we get the medavac chopper in so had to go gawk. Anyway, after finally getting the official story, would you classify what this guy lit off as a homemade firework or poor attempt at a pipe bomb? It does appear to be "here's your sign" worthy, either way. 42-year-old Charles Harbin of Riverside, Illinois says that he was burned when a homemade firework exploded. Harbin made the firework out of a paper towel tube and black powder. When he tried to ignite the firework it blew up, injuring his hand, right arm and part of his torso. He was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

Your Thoughts On The Nba Draft
I agree. Beyond the tournament, I don't watch enough college basketball outside of the Big Ten to have an opinion on most of the players. I do hope Kentucky doesn't end up with a starting line-up all draftable again, though. That could get old and start too many changes in college BB as it is now.

Your Thoughts On The Nba Draft
They are probably going to wish they had watched him play too. Good coaching can do alot, but its the sitting on the bench crying that would concern me. Who knows, though, maybe he'll channel that passion in a positive way I guess. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/7601431/the-hype-crying-basketball-mid-major-bids-officials-college-basketball

Well I guess Shimano had to catch up with ABU and finally released their $500 version of the Revo Toro.

2005 is 7 years, yes I did look. They were introduced 13 years ago would be correct, though.
