What is the weight of your best 5 bass in a day?
I had a day last summer where I caught only 5 but they were all big. I figured that I had about 29 lbs in the 5 I caught. Doin the summer thing, deep cranks and carolina rig.

Drained Lake pics Update
KU, cool deal to have the pics of the lake and be able to go around and GPS stuff. Wish I would have been smart enough to do that here. In my post from last week about catching a 20.33 lb stringer, the lake I did that at was drained about 4-5 years ago, also for dam repairs. It is a really shallow lake and had all that same type of grass grow while the lake was empty. That grass dies off once the water starts to cover it. Our lake was electrofished several times by fish commission personnel prior to complete draining. The fish were re-located to other bodies of water and the actual size of the fish were monitored. When the lake was allowed to re-fill it was re-stocked with same size and types of fish that were taken out. To date the lake is in excellent condition. I hope your lake turns out the same!

Fishing Deep for Bass
What fivebasslimit said plus drop shot!

How would you fish this?
Man, there could be multiple patterns that coud produce fish. IMHO, I would fish what you have confidence in. If your good at shallow fishing, target the docks and shallow wood. Deep, target breaks and humps. As far as locating the offshore structure, I would try to find a good map of the lake and look for offshore breaks and humps etc..

Dropshot question
Is there a such thing as using bigger baits and bigger hooks when dropshotting? Yes, as previously said, adjust your tackle to match the size of fish, water conditions etc.. I regularly drop shot in water that has big fish, I just bump up my line size, hook size, bait size. Apply the technique to what best suits how and where your fising. My second largest tournament stringer came in stained water, 12 lb test, size 2 hook, 6" senko rigged wacky on a gammy drop shot hook.

Carp as Bass repellent
Carp always seem to want to make the biggest commotion on the lake, man they sure like to splash and wallow in the prettiest cover don't they? I usually lick my chops when I see that, don't forget that bait and forage for the bass get scared out that cover too and the bass are usaully in close proximity with the feed bag on.

Do You Remember Your First Bass?
man, we had to cross paths at some point. We are about the same age and I grew up also fishing 10 mile. My dad used to take me on their trips for muskies. small world........

is this a healthy bass?
Catch a bunch of the smaller ones (if allowed), keep em, give them to the amish folks, they'll eat em!! ;D

best 12v foot control tr motor
Whatever brand you settle on, make sure you get enough thrust. You'll be dissapointed if it ends up being underpowered.

setting the hook on big fish
Man, I agree, I've caught 6 lb smallies on Lake Erie that didn't look that big. What a TANK!

What do you guys think about this idea?
Man, sounds like no risk to you at all, you have everything already paid for. Are you considering this as a new career or just a side job? Guess for me that would be the determining factor. Don't know about your state but make sure you check into what licenses and certifcations you will have to have. Also, insurance is a must and from speaking to some friends whom are guides, it can be fairly costly. Good luck if you give it a go!

The Worst
Tough one for me, I catch fish on soo many different types of baits and presentations, I'd say buzzbait first (strange cause I whack em on a spinnerbait), second probably would be a carolina rig. I'm shocked how many reponses where jigs, tubes, spinnerbaits, are guys nemesis. Those 3 things along with cranks and plastics are my top 5 producers.

deep bassin' in the north
Jig, drop shot, deep cranks, carolina rigs. Get on humps, outside edges of weedlines, channel swings.

My boat ramp complaint
What burns me is boaters trying to load their boats back onto the trailer by pulling it on with ropes or wading around attempting to get the boat on. Makes you wonder why they fiddle around when they see multitudes of people just drive their boat onto the trailer.

Structure and cover??
Humps (structure) with some type of wood or rock (cover). Seems I can always catch larger fish offshore............

Bow mount or transom mount trolling motor.
Big difference, all depends on how you plan on fishing and out of which end of the boat. My 2 boats both have bow mount and couldn't imagine going without.

How Much Trouble
If I may............................. What I'm going to explain applies to the law here in PA. "A cop can't ask you for a hunting or fishing license" and "A Game Warden is the only one who can check you" In PA, the 2 statements above in quotes are wrong. A municipal police officer, state trooper, PA fish and boat commission conservation officer, can enforce ALL the laws of the commonwealth including ANYTHING in the fish and game codes, crimes code, vehicle code, drug code etc... A PA game commission officer (game warden) can also enforce the fishing laws (along with the game code of course) plus they may detain and arrest for certain criminal and vehicle code violations. I'm only passing this on so someone dosen't incorrectly tell a law enforcement officer that they don't have the authority to check them for a fishing license. That may not sit too well with the officer................. BTW, to Darrickp, man I would just get the license if you plan on fishing somewhere you are required to have one.....

WANTED: Soft Plastic or Spinnerbait Sponsor
After reading some of the young lads other posts I was kind of thinking the same thing. Gotta love the enthusiasm though............

Just a Question or two....
If I may ask, why would info on where you fish, biggest fish, greatest experience, have to do with a presentation on fishing CAREER? Just an opinion, I would be gathering data from people who have made fishing a career such as guides, retailers, store/business owners, lodge owners, touring professionals etc...

Is Minn Kota Auto Pilot worth it? Please respond
I think the Edge would be a good choice. It's my opinion that 55 lbs would probably be a little better for 3-4 people.
-
Scented Dye Markers
I also use the markers and dip. I have found that making subtle color adjustments are easier with a marker, dipping tails of baits or a whole bait is easier with the dip. Yes, it would make a mess if spilled on carpet!

Is Minn Kota Auto Pilot worth it? Please respond
I've also had the power Drive style of Minn Kota, I'll never own one again. As mentioned it's way too slow turning and will give you absolute fits in the wind. Also, with a cable style tm, when you put your foot on the pedal you know here the head is pointing. With the pd style foot pads you have to contstantly look down to see where the head is. That did actually did cause me some missed strikes when looking down and not watching my line or bait. I went back to an All Terrain.........
