Matching Hook Size To Bait
couple quick question about the hooks and size everyone uses. first i normally use gamakatsu ewg xtra wide for pretty much all applications and was wondering if im wrong in doing so. i think my hook up ratio is okay and im happy with. now these are the size baits i normally fish and wanted to see what hook size is best, something i tend to either overthink due to me changing it ofthen. 1.7in ribbontail work 2.4-5 inch creature baits brush hog 3.3-4 inch creature, craws (brush hogs, rodents, yuki bug, craws) 4.stick baits sizes 4/5/6inch. seeing what type of hook and size works best. thanks for the info

Avid Vs Duckett Micro Magic
I have used and tried the ones that you have mentioned. Now for me my opinion i would go with a Kistler helium micro. i have compared that rod to my avid, duckett, dobyns and crucial and the kistler is hands down a better rod in my opinion. Now it is more money, so to keep that price range of $150-$160 i would go with either a dobyns or duckett. I personally really dont care for the avid for some reason. i had the 7ft mh and it was very tip heavy and heavy in general compared to the others. now for a spinnerbait rod i really like the avid 7ft m/f for this application, so my point is just handle as many rods as possible and see which one feels best to you.good luck

New Shakeyhead Combo
Well i finally made my choices and so far im pleased with the looks and feel. I got the Clark wendlandt shakey head rod for 50% off so it only cost my $100bucks. Now i love the look and feel, very light but have not tested it on the water. For the reel i was between the stradic 2500, saros 2500 and the ci4. now i was planning to get the CI4, which was super light but honestly a little rough when reeling. You would think for $200 it will be smooth when reeling but it wasnt and i was not to happy about the reel handle. The Saros 2500 felt ok but wasnt "in love" with it. The stradic FJ was alittle heavier then the others but was super smooth and when reeling you can sense that it is a very powerful reel. so long story short i got the stradic fj, which so far with non water use i am very happy.

Spinning Rod & Reel, Which To Cut Cost
I mainly fish baitcasters and have eventually gotten my equipment the way i wanted it. meaning qualitly rods and reels. However towards a spinning outfit preferrbly one geared towards shakey head fishing, where do you need to put your money towards. a rod for feel or since your using light line you need a reel with a good drag system?? im in the market for a good spinning outfit and looking to spend total $300 and seem to be caught inbetween on where to put the most of my money and trying to get the best bang for my buck.

In The Market For A Shakey Head Rod
hi everyone, i am in the market for a shakey head rod and really dont know which direction to go. currently i am using a st croix avid 6'8 med xtra fast for my drop shotting and shakey head fishing and have missed a decent amount of fish while fishing the shakey head. my price range max's out at around $230 and hear are a few that i been eyeing up: *denali rosewood matrix 7ft mh *duckett 7ft mh *G-loomis shakey head 6'10mag med *kistler mirco helium 6'9ft mh shimano cumara 6'8ft mh powell endurance 7'1mh st croix xtreme 7'1 med Again just some opinions from people and if you guys reccommend any others. unfortunately i will only be able to handle a handful of these in person, but dont mind buying without feeling them, i have had nice luck with dobyns and kistlers in the past. thank you and have a great christmas

Ok i am looking for a spinning outfit to fish shaeky heads on and some drop shotting.i am leaning towards a 7ft med with either fast or xfast, but here are the combos i had in mind. Lew's Tournament Pro Question
Hey guys just got the lews tourney pro and it seems to be built very well. my question is with the centifical braking there are 4pins, if i dont touch those pins and leave them alone then the braking is on its fulliest, and if i was to engage two of the pins by snapping down into place that would lower the braking system and give me more free spool, correct??? i just want to make sure i understand the online directions. thank you

Dobyns Vs Kistler
i have dobyns savvy and have been very happy with the rod, but i recently just ordered the kistler heliums and i must say they physically better then the dobyns. they are very good looking rod very light and real nice feel. i havent got to use it to much but i cant wait.
-
Well My Order Came Today
received my lew tournament pro 6:4-1 reel from TW and from Kistler i recieved my Helium mirco guide and Helium LTX both 7ft med/hvy. Everything looks and feels great. the lew reel is so light and so far feels smooth i cant wait to use it. Kistler makes a very goodlooking rod, very light and seems to be made with good components. Can not wait to try them on the water.

Which Reel Would You Pick
Actually they are all 200 bucks expecxt for the lews n curado which are cheaper.its an all purpose reel I'm looking forusing baits from 1/4oz to 3/8oz.if u have a different reel for every application then more power to you but I find that highly unlikey amd pointless so please don't bother saying I need 3 of them to fish these patterns.a

Which Reel Would You Pick
If you had to pick one of these reels which would it e.curado, chronach, revo stx, lews tournament pro, smoke 100 and the ardent ege
