  1. Revo LTZ when paired with my Poison Adrena, almost $800
  2. In short there is nothing the Metanium cant do and do very well. Its light, palms great, refined, has a huge casting range and has optional spools available. Its a super long caster out of the box with the stock red brakes and casts even farther if you switch out to the smaller white brakes which are included. And as you can see, while its not a Morrum ZX in the looks department, it still is quite a looker in my opinion.
  3. Ive owned both(XG Metanium and the JDM Mag version Morrum ZX). The Morrum got returned because it had a loose thumb bar and a very geary retrieve, and the clutch sometimes wouldn't re engage. I found that unacceptable in a Swedish made and engineered top of the line reel. I didn't get to fish it before returning it, but the reel itself was stunning, palmed really nice. Wouldn't be my first choice for jerkbaits though. With the Xship, oversized main gear and micro module teeth the XG actually can handle medium diving cranks pretty easy. For straight performance I think the Metanium would win but the Morrum wins the beauty contest lol.
  4. I have feels with handles ranging from 80mm to 100mm. After using them I personally think my sweet spot is 85-90mm for moving reaction lures. Just feels less cumbersome than the 100mm handles.
  5. The new scorpion is the curado I equivalent. The older scorpion 1000\1001xt has not been replaced yet.
  6. Treat yourself and get a Shimano Exsence DC.
  7. Thanks goose, and enjoy!
  8. I ordered a 1600 from Japan and the thumb bar was loose and the retrieve felt really Geary, how is yours? How does it compare against its main rival the 14 conquest?
  9. I'd go aftermarket and get an avail wishbone. They come in different lenghths and colors.
  10. Chronarch CI4 or spend a little more for a Metanium from Japan.
  11. What makes it better is the newer technology. If they manufactured then I in Japan then I'm thinking the msrp would be at least 200. If I recall the D was $199
  12. Labor costs a lot less in Malaysia than Japan. The Curado I is better due to the newer technology and design.
  13. Im gonna have to disagree with this, Shimano originally intended to sell the Curado E for $199 but gave anglers a break and sold it for $179, made in Japan and still made in Japan to this day as the Chronarch E. The Curado G and the Current I are made in Malaysia in a new facility they opened after the big earthquake. Labor costs are a lot less in Malaysia than Japan. Granted couple of components changed on the G and it had a couple less bearings, but the MSRP was also cheaper. Rising cost of raw materials contributed to this too. See the huge price hikes Daiwa implemented in its made in Japan reels. I dont think it was unnecessary to rebrand the Curado into a Chronarch but they can do what they want to do. Just because they bash the Curado G on this forum doesn't mean it wasn't a success. Notice how the T3s have been half price for almost a year and not sold out at TW, yet when the Curado G goes on sale for 99$ its gone within a day or 2.
  14. Your benefits are going to be longer casting, smoother and more power on the retrieve, possibly better ergos.
  15. How light a lure are you trying to throw?
  16. The way I fish the SVS Infinity systems is to pick how many tabs I want to activate, I ususally use 1 or 2 for heavier good casting lures, and if I have a really light bait or its windy then I use 3 with my Curado I(same 4 brake tab configuration as the Chronarch). Then if Im getting backlashes I turn the outside dial all the way to 6. This adds more friction to the activated brake tabs and usually will handle any backlash or overrun. Then I slowly back the dial down to get the maximum distance.
  17. The external dial loosens up over time but you can just take a screw driver and slightly loosen the screw like it did for immediate results.
  18. Curado I over the Tatula R all day long. And yes I own both. Casts farther, palms better, smoother under load. And IMO it looks better.
  19. You can track EMS packages on the USPS website, and unless they shipped it UPS or FedEx you wont have to pay customs.
  20. 50 sized shimano are like crack! Lol
  21. Clear/gray is the same thing, they are the lightest. They come stock on the shimano/yumeya bfs spools.
  22. The Daiwa rep on TT stated that they used the long shaft spool design to save money but I don't believe it for one second. In my eyes he was taking an indirect jab at Shimano. Lews uses a long shaft spool design as well and they are known to be great casters, possibly outcasting their doyo brethren Abu Garcia according to user reports. Im not sure what the advantage of a short shaft spool design is.
  23. Put a Core 50 thumbar on there and are all set
