  1. Just thought I would share; had a monster blow up last night on my brush hog as soon as it hit the water. I saw the splash, but then nothing. I jigged the hog a bit, and then there it was, the tick and the line walk. I waited about 3 seconds, then set the hook. d**n thing must have had just the tail end in its mouth because I ripped the bait out of its jaws. I would estimate the fish based on what I saw come out of the water a good 5-6lbs. d**n thing almost gave me a heart attack. Havent fished in about a month, so it was heart racing for me. I need to make a trip to BPS tomorrow afternoon to get me some new line for my Super Duty, but need to make it back in time to catch the UM game. FML
  2. He might want to be careful because Im the meanest routin' tootin' sideways shootin' cowboy in the East!
  3. I just realized now I have to carry a ruler with me. 12 inches is big enough right?
  4. Rumors of my demise? Meh, been busy the past couple of months. Just finished building my new boat puller. Now its time to get some fishing in. Might get 3 solid days in this month, but come October when I get the big motor on the boat, it should be a different story.
  5. Its gonna be a busy month for me, but lets have some fun.
  6. I don't want to be a proponent for anything. Its just for my 20 years of hardcore fishing, I know what I see, and I see what I know. I have seen things come and go, and notice the changes that companies are making. I will give credit where I believe credit is due, much as I really like the Lews Super Duty but not crazy about their other models. What I am saying is that what Shimano is doing is, shall I say, a different approach to up their marketing. Do I think a reel frame made of anything but metal is a good idea, no. Will it work for certain types of fishermen, yes. Lets just say the idea is there, but being able to pull a 10# Bass out of a the mat with heavy line, its just not gonna hold up very long. If I were gonna opt for the ultimate finesse reel, I would gladly mount that bad boy on a nice rod, but that type of fishing is not in the dictionary of S FL Bassin'. So, for someone looking for a good all around reel, this might not be the ticket. I would rate this reel as a technique specific style, spen d the money if you have nothing better to do with it reel. Does that help at all?
  7. WOW! Nice. Hey Ninja, how about the FLW Cup at Lake Murray next year! I cant wait to see that. Was telling the wife, and just remembered how beautiful it was to fish up there with you.
  8. OH crap! Forgot about the Daiwas, my mistake. They are amazing, but to get a good one....$$$$. I figured to try and stay in somewhat of a budget. We all cant be big ballers like you new2BC4bass, lol. But sure, if you can swing the $$$, then a baller Daiwa is the way to go! I hear ya on the metal clunks vs the plastic sound. It is one thing that I don't like about the Lews. But so far its been good. Time will tell.
  9. What? I like how it pitches baits with the mag brakes. I mean, I could pitch with my Chronarch, but we all know mag brakes are better. I would just take a Lews over any other brand out there with mag only option. I only got 1 Lews and that's it. I swear.
  10. I would opt for a Lews Super Duty.
  11. I had a feeling that was coming, lol.
  12. Though I am not allowed to show anything or elaborate too much on this reel, I will say that I bought a Lews Super Duty instead, so what does that tell you?
  13. Stick to the E, it has an aluminum frame. The Ci4 has a "plastic" frame, and will not hold up to what a 200E can. If you are going to be doing some light line finesse fishing, then by all means if you want to spend the $$. I have heard and seen too many issues due to the construction, and for another $70, nah.
  14. The advantage of the 200 is that you can get it in a 7 speed.
  15. Never happen. The Super Duty is the only Lews I actually like. I will keep my Shimanos, they perform way better.
  16. I only have 1, but its a Super Duty. Oh crap, cats out.
  17. I wouldn't waste the money for the CuradoG, get the CiticaG, its almost the same reel and performance. Save your money for some baits, or future reel purchase.
  18. I use a Cardiff200A for Snook and inshore fishing. Just spool it with 40# braid and use a good leader if needed. I haven't had a problem yet.
  19. Hmmmm......lets just say between the boat and the few other rigs I have picked up in the last year, it might have cost me a divorce if my wife found out, lol.
  20. Ah, OK. Just wanted to make sure you didn't get ripped off. That's a great deal.
  21. I think its time for you to put the glove back on! lol
  22. Anybody else curious as to why he paid $160-$180 for a $100-$120 rod? I just bought one for $99.95
  23. Come to Lake Okeechobee, you will prove your friend wrong.
