  1. Get yourself some store credit, then get a Shimano.
  2. Good stuff. The first little area to the left as you head into the canal to get going north is a good spot to throw some hollow frogs in the morning. Also, try walking a spook along the pad line. Watch the wake as they come out for the kill.
  3. Flipping with Gambler Why Nots and Ugly Otters.
  4. Its good for the fish to keep a hold of the bait longer for the scent part. If its also a dye, like chartreuse, its a good visual aspect too.
  5. Big producers in the local canals are Zoom lizards watermelon red chart. As far as in the Everglades, its Gambler eZ swimmer in Bright Copper.
  6. Yeah I talked to him today. He said he spoke to you about the handles. He's excited to try it out. I told him how great they were for flipping/pitching. I saw they had a hard time at the BFL. Oh well, that's fish in. Can't getem all the time. Looks like you guys are going to Holiday next. Good luck, I heard its starting to get better out there.
  7. Because of the snakeheads sharp teeth, its 50# braid, or 20# YoZuri.
  8. The fish are staging, ready for spawn. Gonna be tough the next couple of weeks.
  9. Your better off to angle the guard than to trim from the bottom. At least when you angle you get strength at the bottom to mid area for deflection purposes.
  10. You could just take I95 S down here and get off at Griffin Rd, lol.
  11. your a funny guy, eh? Lol
  12. While my lure is in flight my thumb is not on the spool (they are tuned). As soon as the lure hits the water, I have to stop the spool with my thumb. No loss of distance, still easily a 40yd cast with a 1/4oz bait.
  13. Sure. Just take the rig, throw it in the trash, and use something that actually works. Seriously though, those things are not worth the money.
  14. Snobs? SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO SHIMANO! LOL
  15. You will want a reel with cent. brakes, mag brakes only is a finicky reel to adjust and cast. Get a Shimano Citica, then you will have cent. brakes, and Shimanos great longevity.
  16. Great all around rod.
  17. Look, dont let anybody tell you you cant use that rod for any application you want, because you can. You can put whatever you want on that rod, you just have to consider the limited flex it will put out, and adjust your drag to make up for the difference. Im not a big fan of my rods bending too much because for me it takes away any power that I may want to have at any given time. I throw a crankbait on a MH XF rod, so what? Is it wrong? Maybe to some people who like to buy stuff that is "technique specific". Pretty much all of my rods are MH XF except 1, my hollow frog rod which is H XF. Its a good rod to have, and you can tie on whatever you want, and not have to worry about not having the power to do something.
  18. Zebco is not a bad brand, think about the spincast reels.
  19. Use a shake head rig and an unsalted worm if you want them to float tail up.
  20. Since you were looking into the Revo S, you are making a good choice for that brand. You won't be disappointed, many on here would tell you that. I'm a Shimano guy, but still know the S is a great reel, and will serve you very well. If you decide to get rid of it, people will buy them, but I doubt you will.
  21. PM me some pics of what it is you use/do? Im curious, but I dont think the wife will be too excited about me using the microwave, lol
  22. I have been saving (hiding $ from the wife) for a couple of months now. Getting ready to make a run to BPS to pick me up another Chronarch50E. She caught me the other night switching some reels and rods around to prepare for the new setup. She knows I traded a few rods on here recently for a diffferent one, so I just told her I was making some adjustments with the new rod. She then saw I had one rod alone and asked what I was going to do with it. She might be on to me.
  23. I would just get a Revo S on a new Vendetta rod in a M, and spool it with 12# YoZuri. You will be able to cover many types of fishing while bankining it.
  24. I have a total of 8 setups, but only use all on a tournament. Bank fishing, I do it all with 1. I just use a Curado50E on a MH Compre and 12# YoZuri. I can fish everything from soft plastics, cranks, topwater, jigs, etc with this setup.
  25. I have about 7lbs of used soft plastics. I dont know why I dont throw them out. I wonder if anybody would like to take them and make new baits, maybe send me some in return. Some of the ones that are decent I may use as trailers.
