  1. MH, best all around action. Even if you fish treble hook baits, you can just adjust the drag on the reel to accomidate.
  2. Put a big treble hook and a weight on the end of your line. Cast out and reel fast, your bound to snag something! Lol.
  3. Did this today. When you pack all your fishing stuff before even touching clothes to pack for a weekend away.
  4. You dont have to back off ALL the way. Just back the star off untill it feels loose, thats enough. You dont have to crank it back.
  5. No, I think it was the gold ones they had on special last year as well. A few people I know had purchased them back then, and ended up going through 2 or 3 before getting one that wasnt noisey or grindy.
  6. My daily fisher is a MH Compre 6'8. I fish everything from soft plastics to crankbaits with it. Dont worry, its good all around action.
  7. Dont put grease on the wormshaft, just lightly oil. Grease will attract too much dirt. Only use grease for the gears that are behind the crank side plate.
  8. You will want MH to be able to get a good hookset on a jig.
  9. I dont get it...lol.
  10. I know, but IF I were to buy one............IF! Lol
  11. Yeah. No problem. I dont use bantam oil on my Shimanos. I use a cleaning kit from Ardent.
  12. I keep him in my pocket!
  13. Never was a spinning reel person, but recently acquiring one, it does help with very slow techniques. Now, normally I dont use these techniques, but lately have been experimenting with them. Plus the little Sienna on a M rod is fun to fish 4-5lb bass with.
  14. So last night I found myself really bored. I decided I was going to conduct an experiment for myself. I had my spools of line out, and decided to do a visibility test utilizing my fish tank. Its a 10 gal tank with 3 shiners and a bunch of black and white minnows caught locally out of the canals. Now they were an interesting aspect to the test as I watched their reactions to each line I had dropped in the tank. Now I didnt have equal diameters of line for each type, but more or less wanted to see how visible it was to me in the water. The lines were 6 and 12# Stren fluoro, 12 and 20# YoZuri clear, 20# YoZuri green, 6 and 10# Trilene clear, 10 and 12# Trilene green, and I didnt bother with braid due to the tank water is clean and clear, and that would be pointless lol. Anyway, to my surprise, I thought the YoZuri clear was 2nd best to the fluoro. It was pretty cool to see how the green blended under the water, and am sure it does an even better job in the merky stained water we have down here. Basically wanted to do the test for the YoZuri to see how it compares to other lines under water, seeing as how that is my nylon line of choice. Getting my next rig here in a couple of months, I was trying to decide wether I was gonna buy the 600yd spool of clear or green 15# YoZuri to use for it. Now Im sure the fishes view is a lot different than ours, especially when under water, so I tried to imagine that as well when looking at the line. So far I seem to be leaning to the green. Anybody have any eperiences with the colors that made you lean toward a certain color? Did you feel you had caught more fish when using a certain color?
  15. ROTFLMAO, that is great!
  16. Gambler EZ swimmer, Bright Copper
  17. Berkley Lightning Shock, Shimano Sellus, Abu Vendetta.
  18. Just checked, still there, lol.
  19. I have a box for Topwater, Crankbaits deep, Crankbaits shallow, spinnerbaits and jigs, and terminal tackle-hooks and weights etc. You just have o organize to what works for you.
  20. Just got the large Shimano bag, and EVERYTHING I own/need is in there. There is still room for more if needed. Just an idea, 5 3600 boxes, 1 3700 box, 7 gallon size ziplocs full of plastics all on the inside. Front outer is all 50 bags of Gambler swimmers. Left outer has cleaning/repair kit, gloves, pliers, scissors, 5 spools of line, and L&L. Right outer has cull kit, bug spray, dips, dyes, and other misc stuff. Rugged bottom with cleats, and the material is strong thick stuff. I think the bag weighs close to 60-70lbs with all my stuff in it.
  21. If your gonna leader, you need mono, it floats, do not use fluoro. In all actuality, you should be using a good 50-65# braid for frogs, and if those toothy critters take it, SOL.
