  1. Trailer hooks on jigs? Let me know how that works out. That wouldnt do me any good for what I use jigs for, but maybe you have a different idea in mind. Swimming, I might see the trailer hook idea useful like a spinnerbait, but not in heavy cover or slop mats.
  2. Nice catch, where abouts you find that one?
  3. I was mostly a Rapala man myself, but since I found a really good deal on Bomber baits last week I bought a lifetimes worth. I have been fishing the Shallow A's and Square A's and they are very impressive baits. In fact I like them better than the KVD 1.5's I have. Rapalas warranty is tough to beat though, they will send you a new one if you have a broken lure. As a matter of fact I recently sent them a firetiger rattletrap that I bought back in 1992 that the hook anchor had ripped out, and they sent me a brand new one no charge.
  4. I would stick to well known and trusted brands. Just remember that price doesnt mean better. From what I have been hearing lately the Bass P Carbinlite rod is amazing for the $. Also, Shimanos Compre is pretty sweet, I love mine. Spending more than $150 for a rod is rediculous to me. Even more than $125 is just a little much. I feel there are plenty of superior quality rods in the $100 range. Save the extra money and buy a little better of a reel than you may have purchased, especially for what your looking for. Take the extra $75, and put it into a Hawg Handle to gibe you some extra leverage on the fish. They look sexy on a Chronarch E.
  5. No, just able to check it out. It is amazingly spacious!
  6. bring me back a Scorpion, lol.
  7. Shimano has a nice big duffle style tackle bag for like $60-70. I know im gonna get flack for the Shimano, lol, but its awesome. Its on my Santa list, I hope it shows up under th tree.
  8. Im gonna get you to get a 50E one day, you will see, then its all over! lol
  9. yeah, Id get the 50E too, this way no problems sailing light soft plastics.
  10. I think Im gonna have to buy one of those Carbonlites for my crank rig Im gonna put together. They look good, and keep seeing good reports like this.
  11. its all real heavy cover down where I fish here in FL, thats the only reason I dont bother with the leader. Otherwise, if there is more open areas, then take WW2 advice.
  12. I would go a good Abec7 bearing, and carbon drag.
  13. If you are fishing cover, I wouldnt worry about pitching a jig with a fluoro leader. I would use straight 50# Power Pro and be done with it. The fish are not gonna worry about the line, they wont see it, its gonna be a reaction bite.
  14. I only use the regular clinch knot, and have never had a knot failure yet. Palomar for braid only.
  15. As bosn stated, you want to go for an aluminum framed reel, thus the Citica. Gonna be the best choice for you.
  16. Get a Curado 50E and some 12# YoZuri, and you can throw anything.
  17. For something decent, expect $200. If you really want to keep it cheap, go with Abu black/silver max style combo. Expect to get short life. Save the money, buy a Shimano Citica at least, then fish long term.
  18. What do you mean you cant get 200Es? Hello, Chronarch, or Curado on the bay? You havent looked hard enough have you?
  19. get the Citica E, sent it to DVT for a supertune and crankshaft bearing, and put a Hawg Handle on it.
  20. Gambler Ugly Otter and Mega Daddy.
