For the extra $ I would go for the Chronarch. Its got a better drag system, and is a little smoother. I love the Chronarchs ability to cast just about any kind of bait. It also comes with a nice little bag for storing or transporting

Super tuning varies from angler to angler. I like to take down the whole reel and clean all the factory grease and lube out of it. Soak the bearings in acetone until all the factory grease is out of them. Then take the spool bearings and put them in a cup and put 1 drop of oil on each side. Then, all the gears I make sure are packed with grease. Some say a little goes a long way, I like mine to be well lubricated. If you have never done this before, make sure you keep the paperwork for the reel handy so you can use it if you lose track of the parts placement. Another option is to send it to DVT, and for a good deal he can do it for you. As far as parts you can use for the G from the E. The only thing would be that you can take the crankshaft bearing from the Curado E and use it to replace the bushing they use in the Citica. Just so you know, you could take the Citica out stock and beat that thing all day long and it will take it. Dont be fooled just because its a G. They still are great reels. Shimano is just putting the reels back to where they should be as far as options/price lineup. When I relubed my Citica G, it was like night and day. Im gonna honestly say that the Curado E is going to be known as the best Curado that Shimano has ever produced, due to the amazing features that Shimano put in it. Unfortunately, since they had to make the adjustment to put it back in perspective, and let the Chronarch take the reigns again, people are set on the E, as am I. Since I own all of the E line up (except for the Chronarch 50E), I will be adding a Curado G to it as well. Ive used it, and I like it, and will tune it my way.

That was Citica G vs Curado G. We are on Curado E and Curafo G now, and the fact that its not much of a downgrade.

Umm....I dont know what finesse fishing is. I dont really do that kind of thing down here. I go straight for the juggular! Seriously though, as long as the line is thin enough you shouldnt have a problem. Use like a 20-30# braid and you should be fine, but I would rather fish a 6-8# line like YoZuri if your gonna do that kind of thing since that line is very strong for its size.

Umm...I own a Chronarch E7, Curado E7, Curado 50E, Citica E, Citica G, soon a Chronarch 50E, and Curado G7. But I dont know what Im talking about since all I fish is Shimano

Down here in the swamps, I dont see a difference. I would rather have the confidence of straight braid than have to worry about fluoro or mono breaking in heavy cover.

I have a Citica G, and it sees a lot of use being my Spook reel. I have no problems with it. Tore it down and lubed it my way and it feels better than new. The next reel that i pllan to purchase is the Chronarch 50E for my spinnerbaits, but after that I will be grabbing a Curado G for my collection as well. I have no doubts of them, Ive seen some pretty big fish pulled with them and no problems. I would still rather fish that than a Lews knowing Shimanos design is proven.

Spiderwire Stealth, and Power Pro. I like the Stealth for my 65# because its 12# dia. Power Pro for my 40#.

Braid is very smooth. Just dont used crappy braid.

Good choice to use Shimano . Also, for light baits you need a reel like the Curaddo 50.

Good choice. Just make sure you use a M action rod to take up the "no stretch" of the braid.

I like a shorter rod too. I use a 6'6 Lightning Shock M.

Only downgrade with the Shimano was not puting the bearings in the knobs.

Yes, has to feel good in the hand. I palm 100%, so its got to be a good feel. I like my 50E on a Vendetta, and my 200's on Sellus rods.

Find yourself a new or used Shimano Curado or Citica and a Shimano Sellus MH rod. Spool it with 12# YoZuri and be done with it.

Ok, here I am. Im gonna have to agree with Hootie, the Lews is smooth, but the Shimano Cronarch will be the proven soldier on the battlefield. I prefer the K.I.S.S. method on everything, and Shimano has proven it works. Also, dont get fooled by drag lbs, the Lews is inaccurate.
