Agree with the above poster about the Sellus, it is good, and a strong backbone. I had no problem muscling out big bass out of heavy Kissimmee grass on my last tourney to help me win. The only other rod I would suggest would be the Veritas if you want to go more toward the $100 range.

The PQ is good, but disposable.

A decent cast would be about 90 feet. If Im fishing the flats, then that is the only time I am really going for distance. Other than that, just like mentioned above, its more of an accuracy thing. Just like in shooting, you have to be accurate first before you can go for speed and distance.

I dont know where you fish, but for a good all around rod, I would look at the 7' M Vendetta. I use it as a dual purpose for my spinnerbaits for tourneys, and when Im fishing around town, I can throw just about anything on it and it does just fine. I have a Curado 50E mounted on it, I throw plastics, to topwater, to cranks, jigs, etc, all with 12# Yozuri. If your going to use braid, make sure you get a good quality reel, dont buy something cheap. You might be looking around the $150 range. Everyone on here knows I fish Shimanos, and for a good reason, they last! You might be able to find yourself a used Curado E online, you might want to go with either the E6, or an E7. Or nomatter what kind of reel you end up with, just make sure the speed is either in the 6.range or 7.range, its easier to reel a little slower than buy something too slow and have to crank your arms off. Good bait. My wifes grandfather fishes the baby brush hogs t rigged, he catches plenty of bass on them. I dont have the luck that he does with them, so I just stick to my lizards.

Its because they know you wont kill them.

When there are bass neear the shore, a good way to get them is casting onto the bank, and walking the frog to the edge. Twitch the frog at the edge of the bank, this may get the attention of the bass. Once the frog hits the water, it has no chance.

They will both last as long as you take care of them. If it were me, I would spend the extra $ for the Curado, its built a little better. The Citica is not a bad reel though, I have a Citica G6, and I like it.

It doesnt absorb, it just puts a coating to allow the line to be more slick.

SX is magnetic brakes only. In my opinion not good. Centrifigal brakes are easier and more precise. Citica is going to be the better of the 2. If your gonna spend the extra $, just buy a Curado.

Hybrid

Always fish them. Any cover they can hide in they will. Anything weedless you can throw in there will be good.

Save your money, get a Citica and a $50 rod. It will be worth it in the long run when your still using the Citica 10 years + later. Put it on a MH Sellus rod and be done with it.

Get a Chronarch 200E7, put on a sturdy MH 7'+ rod, and spool it with some 65# braid. DONE.

Its not expensive at all, thats the thing. You can get 600yds for $20 from TW. I use 12# on my 50E that I use almost every day, and Im not afraid to cut line, or retie, because its not going to cost me a fortune to have to respool. Trust me, you wont regret it, and it will save you $ in the long run. If you want a line that you can use for all around fishing, this is it.
