  1. you can put both on your shirt and if you fish a bass open or the flw series they will simply ask that you cover up the other badge with a piece of tape. Simple because they prefer not to have the other badge show up in their pictures. So go for it!
  2. I am signed up for all 3 of the 2016 Northern Opens. I am in need of a co-angler who wants to link. It will secure both of our spots but we need to do it by the end of Feb. If you are planning on fishing the Northern Opens as a Co and are in need of a Pro link, please contact via p.m., respond to this thread or call me at 616-337-7988. Thanks
  3. I like to drop shot along the "mile roads"!
  4. welcome, there are lots of members from FL here to help

a-rig is my first choice on schooling fish, sometimes I have to get the first bite on a crank bait then pull out the a- rig
  6. looks good!
  7. I register for events as soon as registration opens. Some people wait as long as they can to register. so personal preference will prevail on that. just keep in mind that on the co angler side most events fill up pretty early. Also you may want to throw in some bfl events, its much cheaper than open and everstarts so your money will last a bit longer and its the "normal" progression through the ranks. just my 2 cents, good luck
  8. Most of the fish I have had to fizz have been from 15 ft or more of water but I have had a few from as shallow as 8 feet that needed it. I always check the live well a few mins after putting a fish in to make sure its upright no matter how deep the water is. though prob not necessary on shallow fish but its habit now.
  9. I was going to say senkos, b/c they do catch a lot of fish in many situations, but since you took that off the table I would have to recommend a spinner bait. they are great b/c they can be fished shallow or deep, fast or slow and they go through weeds great. the next best option for general all around use would be a swim jig. good luck
  10. Palomar for 90% of my applications. for flipping the snell with 7 wraps and 1/4 inch of tag.
  11. being you are new to fishing, rig with braid and switch btwn leaders based on what you are throwing.
  12. nice pics, I miss the fall colors of the north, thanks for sharing...oh and good job
  13. I hold them on their side with my left hand and have their bottom against the wall of the livewell and use the right hand for the needle, and then give them a lollie-pop and a sticker
  14. you might not be carrying enough speed to have it trimmed up very high...the slower you are going the less u will be able to trim it up....but I am shooting in the dark until more info surfaces
  15. I use gym bags to store the original packages. I write on the outside of the gym bag a general term for what type of plastics are inside i.e. "tube", "worm", "craw" so all my packages of tubes are in the tube gym bag, all my packages of worms are in the worm gym bag, ect. It makes finding what I am looking for easier, then inside each bag they are organized by size and within each size the colors are organized. so when I unzip the worm bag for example the shorter worms are (4 inch senko's) are at one end organized by color (I use r.o.y.g.b.i.v. but customize to your liking), all the way through working up to the 14" worms at the other end. so when I grab the bag I have a general idea on which end of the bag to start looking based on what size I want. Of course if you don't have enough room in your boat just downsize to carry a couple packs of each onboard and keep the rest at the house and restock the boat after each trip. I have been using this system for about 3 years now and have found it very helpful. But on tournament day I already know what I want to throw and keep 2 packs of what I want to throw in my cooler to make things even faster. Just an idea, good luck
  16. so you have the disease too??? welcome to the support club lol
  17. welcome
  18. there are good clubs and bad clubs out there. most are pretty good and you will deff shorten your learning curve by joining one. however the best way to find out is to join and put in some time with the club. It might take a bit for everyone to open up, but once they realize you are a good person and become friends with you the potential for information is huge. the first club I joined I learned quite a bit. good luck
  19. I use a polomar knot and don't have any issue, however you said you like the snaps. so tie a good polomar knot onto you spinnerbait and give yourself a length of leader and tie a snap (or o-ring) to the other end of the leader. so when you want to snap on a spinner you just snap it to the o ring or snap and when you take it off it will stay with your spinner. just an idea for you, but your best bet is to just do away with the snaps all together. just my 2 cents. good luck
  20. for summer rain the north face makes a great rain gear set that has no insulation or liner but keeps you dry, for cooler temps I have been very happy with bone dry from bass pro shops. good luck
  21. nice fish with or with out a tail fin!
  22. Bad A##!!!! I love my z7 but thats the big daddy to my lil toy!! Looks hot, rip some lips!
  23. i know you mentioned you wanted a half ton, but just food for thought here. I own multiple 3/4 ton chevys with the 6.0 liter v-8, two of the 2003's have well over 200,000 miles on them. Also these trucks are in my service fleet so they tow trailers with about 4-8,000 lbs 5 days a week. They are in great shape, dont leak, dont burn oil, ect. I would take either one of them across country today. So the point of the story is dont freak out to much on mileage, more on the condition of the vehicle. Esp if you can find a used one from a guy that fixed things (or had them fixed) as soon as they poped up, vs the guy that only fixes problems when it causes complete failure. the other thing to think about is depending on how far and how often you are going to be towing. half ton will be fine but the heavier drive train is benneficial if you are going to be towing often. just my 2 cents
  24. i have an 8ft Talon on my boat. If they offered a 10ft at the time i would of done it. If you are going w power pole deff go with the 10 footer
  25. not durring tourneys but quite often when "fun" fishing. they seem to prefer Chris Leduex and the oak ridge boys up here in west michigan
