Thanks guys. The ones pictured are 3/8 oz on a heavy 3/0 hook. Poured some 1/4 and 1/8 heads today and gonna tie some more up tomorrow. Stayed with 3/0 on the 1/4 oz but it's a lighter hook. Used a 1/0 on the 1/8 oz. I'll definitely post pics of any catch on them. Ohio river temps are running about 36 - 37 degrees, hopefully it wont be long!
  3. Went with the St Croix Mojo Drop Shot. They had the Elite tech Smallmouth at Cabela's, really liked it, but didnt have the ML. Had the ***. I was impressed with it too. Felt sweet! Liked the Mojo just a little better. Had a $20.00 gift card so only dropped $80 on the rod. Can't wait to get on the water and try it out. Thanks again to everyone for all the responses and good info.

  11. I'm guessing 56 lb but not sure. Bought my boat used 5 years ago and this motor was on it. Still is. Lookin to upgrade and was just wondering what # thrust it was. Pretty dependable TM but I have busted a couple of cables on it. Bout $60.00 a pop to replace those. Gonna move up to 70 or 80 lb.

Lot of guys said same thing about brakes, fstr385. Had an old Quantum 500EX finally bite the bullet the other day and the wife felt so bad for me she ordered me a couple of these KVD's. can't wait to give em a shot.

  24. Lotta fantastic info skeletor! Appreciate it. Rod will be used for droppin only. Not goin over 7'. Never dreamed of getting this much good info and help on a rod purchase. Should be able to check out a Cumara at Cabelas. They used to carry some Dobyns but not sure anymore. Carry some fenwicks but not sure on the elite techs. Probably drive up here in the next couple of days and check what they got. Only a fifty minute drive and got three or four good buddies in the fishin dept. That and keep checkin on line.
