Help Choosing A Baitcaster
Took a look at the sales at ***, great website. Free shipping over $50, or $5 2 day express! Picked up a Daiwa VIP SM 6'9 M/F for $49.99. For now, I'll just use my cheap Daiwa reel that came with the strikeforce combo until I can upgrade. I really want a Shimano Chronarch 51e, but I'd settle for a Curado 51e. Would that pair well with the rod I picked up?

First Trip To Okeeheelee
Hey all, Had my first trip to Okeeheelee Park today. Was an experience for sure. The amount of cover was ridiculous. Was pulling in wads of weeds with everything but a weightless worm. Fished a few different areas, nothing seemed consistent. Finally decided to take a peek at the ski areas where you cant fish, since I saw a few guys doing it anyways. Had some hits instantly. The water there is ridiculously deeper. Then, I got kicked out by some guy in a truck saying I couldn't fish there. Lame.

Help Choosing A Baitcaster
Tackle Warehouse currently has the Curado 51E on sale for $119. Tempting... Also, for whatever reason I can't click on the link to the rod. And right-click->copy doesn't work either o.O Mark

Help Choosing A Baitcaster
Hey all, Few months since I got into fishing seriously, and broke my first rod! I purchased a Daiwa Strikeforce combo, and an extremely hungry bass snapped it like a twig last night. Was a 6'6 MH rod. I plan on looking into warranty options, but am also looking into an upgraded setup. For my lighter tackle, I have a St Croix 7' MLF rod with a Pfleuger President reel. Works great and fit my price range perfectly. I'm looking for a baitcaster to deal with my heavier tackle, but still have the ability to throw some lighter stuff (3/16th oz lightest?) So, to compliment my spinning setup, could you guys suggest to me some baitcasting setups? Thanks!! Mark

Help Iding Lake Plants And Shells
Hey all, Been wondering this for a while, and I'm hoping someone could help me ID a plant and a clam shell like object that I catch often in our lake. The plant has very thin stems, and a small purpleish knob/bulb at the top. The shell looks almost like a clam or scallop shell. But its black and dark orange. They are attached to objects, because when my hooks pick em up, you can see where they were torn off. The biggest one ive dragged in was ~4in in diameter. My red eye shads pick up both of these items, along with small sticks and other small shalls constantly. Finally, why I ask is I simply want to get a better idea of what the fish are seeing and living in down there. Any suggestions on what may be good to fish this area with? Thanks, Mark

Suggestions For Shallow Lake
Hey all, I was looking for some suggestions on fishing an extremely shallow lake with a ton of debris on the bottom. I don't know how shallow it is for sure, but at its deepest i estimate 6-8 feet, if that. Just yesterday I lost 2 texas rigged 1/4oz worms, and a carolina rigged worm to rocks/other objects. I even caught a 3 foot deep squarebill on something and nearly lost that as well!! Any suggestions? FYI, its not the hooks getting stuck on weeds from a shotty rig job, but instead the sinkers getting lodged between objects. Thanks, Mark

My First 5 Pounder!
I was fishing some magnum worms weightless around an area of rocky bottom I know of in the lake behind the house. From the shore. It was pretty cold out. About 55. Which is much cooler than usual. So, I decided to rig on an 1/8oz jig with a black mister twister grub. 2 casts in and she hit it hard as it was falling towards the rocks

Rod/reel Suggestions New Fisherman
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll probably just pick up a spinning reel/rod and also learn to simply fish bigger lures. Haven't had much luck yet, except with some bigger zoom worms.

Rod/reel Suggestions New Fisherman
Hey all, Fairly new Florida fisherman here. I've fished all my life, but never seriously with my own equipment, etc. Recently, we got a house with a decent sized man-made lake behind it. Its full of Bass! However, I have some concerns. First, the lake is very shallow, and has very little cover because its kept "clean" by the community. At its deepest, I estimate its depth is around 7-8 feet. Second, the ecosystem in the lake still seems to be developing, seeing as the biggest fish I've caught yet is only around 2 1/2 lbs. So, my question is. I like to use lighter tackle, because it seems to work better with the shallowness of the lake and the size of the fish. My only pole, though, is a daiwa baitcaster. It has a supremely difficult time casting, say, my 1/8 micro jig. Are there any relatively non-expensive reel/rods I can get to cast light tackle with a baitcaster, or will I need to get a spinning setup Also, any tips you guys can offer a newbie on fishing a shallow, murky, coverless lake would be appreciated! Thanks!!
