  1. Our club is cancelling our last tournament of year at sabine river and replacing it with another location. Two places on my mind are Henderson and Bayou Black near Houma. What are yalls thought or maybe other ideas of places bout two hours from Jennings?
  2. Can anyone tell me anything about the Sabine River. I am fishing a buddy's club tournament later this month, but gonna try to go take a look at it next weekend. I've never been there before so any info would be appriciated.
  3. yeah i saw that too. Can't beleive people will stoop so low. They could have at least waypointed from a distance and came back after the weekend. SkeeterDon that could have been his 10lb 15oz fish from last year on Toledo.
  4. Did you see this for yourself, if not where did you here it. Just watched a video of him and he is confused and best practice he had was day before yesterday with 5 fish totaling about 8 lbs.
  5. I'm with you Fanatic. Foot went out Easter week and now I'm putting wife in school, so money for the new foot hasn't found me yet.
  6. I sat this one out I was kinda hoping someone here would tell us how it was.
  7. I've been on a spot like Bass-Fanatic is talking about for about a month now (a spot on a spot and catching anywhere from 17 to 35 FOW). Went saturday but didn't spend all day there I ran around because the wind finally allowed for it. I ended up not catching the size that I had been, but never really got the schools fired up either. I caught 50 to 60 fish (50% largemouth and 50% whites). Majority was on drop-shot in 24 to 33 FOW. But I have to add something to what someone on here mentioned a few days ago, fish STILL have eggs. I decided to keep six fish to fry up today and five of them had eggs the other was a kentucky. Had fun but just getting more and more confused as to what these fish are thinking this year.
  8. Good job Wesley...much better than my weekend stringers.
  9. TBendBassin have you been in last couple days? One more thing the deep water fishing is kinda new to me. Saturday the wind is upwards of 20 mph, other than dangers is it stupid to try the deep holes ive been fishing. Oh and I'm in 17 to 32 fow.
  10. Well its been slow this week but tuesday I fished deep and caught about 40 bass (top five weighing about 19 pounds) and some white bass in about two and half hours. Came in to get a bite to eat and went back out and caught about 15 to 20 bass (top five again about 19 lbs) in about hour and half. Top five from both trips combined would have weighed about 23 lbs. Problem is its in the wide open and the wind this weekend is not gonna be easy, and the fish aren't quite the size as I was getting. All of the big fish had eggs so I guess they were heading up to spawn, but I can't catch anything shallow. I was very confused to see so many fish with eggs, as a matter of fact I thought they were just fat from feeding, but a guy at our camp cleaned a bunch of fish he caught deep and they were definately about to burst with eggs. So my question is, where are the big fish now I can't find them? All im catching deep right now are 2 pounders.
  11. Buckjunkie, I camp by Carrice Creek and this not the year to come here. Normally its good but this year its definately not.
  12. If anyone does good today let me know, I just got off the phone with my partner and he is having a hoorible day. I dont know how but he hasn't had a bite all day. Just curious if its that bad or he is just not doing it right. He says he has tried everything but I dont know. I'll be there tonight so hopefully if it was that bad it will get better by morning.
  13. Catt I've been watching the launches on the Calcasieu for 2 weeks or so and they were closed till like Monday i think, but they are open now.
  14. Going to run the boat and maybe fish a little on the Calcasieu, then packing the truck to head out tomorrow. Im gonna be at the bend till the 14th, so hopefully ill get something going. Oh how I've been waiting on this vacation.
  15. Catt you winked...was it you that caught it?
  16. Im with you Catt. Wife tried to make me leave the house for the weekend. I decided to paint the house so that its done and I dont have to do it on a good weekend.
  17. Mid-lake Texas side. Caught about 20 total but I'm not one to show off the little ones.
  18. Well made it out in the crowds today. It was a tough day for me, only three keepers. One of the fish went 4.7 and she had definately already spawned out. Hope, if yall made the trip, that yall had a better day than me.
  19. Headed up Saturday for a day trip, I didn't realize every one of those tournaments were this weekend. Oh well, glad I'm just going to pass a good time and not in a tournament this weekend.
  20. thats a nice backlash too
  21. bayouXpress you are right the sacalait have moved in the shallows. In Carrice we have been catching them in 1.5 to 5 fow.
  22. Well normal tournament weekend, I went Friday and did some more scouting and thought I figured them out. Well I was wrong. I didn't go to any of the areas I went last week so I wouldn't mess up anything I had there, so I went to new water and it was slow in the morning. From daylight to eleven I caught 9 small keepers and two thirteen inch fish. Then from eleven to eleven thirty I changed what I was doing and caught 18 pounds in that thirty minute span. I'm on them right. WRONG. The water temp dropped even more Saturday night and I manage only 12 pounds for the tournament. Just couldn't get them to bite. But if it helps anyone all I changed on Friday when I went from catching small fish to good quality fish was change from a spinner bait to a chatter bait. I guess that small change made the difference, but didn't catch even one fish on a moving bait on saturday. Everything was on senkos deadsticked.
  23. iClass, I haven't been to Blue Lake this year myself, but a partner of mine went there last week. He said its not really worth trying with a big boat still too shallow. Take that for what its worth, like I said I didnt see it with my own eyes.
  24. Dam Yankee I wasn't there Monday, but to make you feel better I haven't heard very good reports about Monday. The best report I heard came from way up north past 1215.
  25. Finally made there this weekend started out good saturday except for the five foot waves I had to jump right at daybreak. Just fished for about two hours to scout for next weekend, then went to pick up my 7 year old son to go perch jerking. In the two hours that I scouted I caught 9 keepers(released) and 1 throw back, of the 9 I had a 4 lb 6 oz and a 3 lb 10 oz. the rest where just solid 2 to 2.5. We then caught 3 bass(released), four big bream, and 16 decent white perch. Went scouting again for a bit this morning and caught a couple keepers one about 3.5 but mainly culled a couple spots for the tournament next week. Oh then I had a blow out on way home.
