  1. Thats exactly why I just sit back and watch from a distance. I can't make myself fish the bank during the spring. I stay out in slightly deeper water that other people might fish, but wont get the constant parade of boats.
  2. Best advice is to never buy any Berkley line unless it has the Trilene name on it also.
  3. I bought a Duckett before last spring, and after catching just one fish I knew that every rod I buy will be Duckett. I love them.
  4. Reach to far over front of boat to get a bait off of a stump, while a "GOOD" friend had control of the trolling motor. I guess he realized I was getting hot.
  5. Try Duckett rods, they are awesome rods and don't cost as much as G Loomis
  6. green mirror 580G
  7. New trolling motor installed last night, now if the prop shop will call me back I will be on my way to the bend this afternoon. I will let yall know how I do, or how wet I get.
  8. Ok. I'm good then. Thanks
  9. Boaters safety course? I never heard anything about this. Is there an age limit?
  10. Just spent all my money at tackle warehouse. Nothing better than never having to leave the house. The list you gave are places I only go to waste time I never spend a dime in any of them.
  11. I use 100% fleurocarbin 8 or 10lb test with a small plain hook with a spinning rod and reel. I have fished with many people who use weedless hooks and they never seem to catch as many or even get as many bites. I guess its just a visibility thing. The best bait in my opinion is a zoom trick worm with a finishing nail (size depends on depth). You talked about budget and thats why I use finishing nails, cause the little lead nail weights that you break for different sizes cost more and you dont get near as many as a box of finishing nails. I dont even use the rubber bands around the worm I just hook right into the egg sack of the worm. And I do use it anywhere even very stumpy areas (if they a little finess to get them out), but dont think you wont get hung up or lose a couple fish, but I don't make long cast when in the stumps, thats just asking to lose everything that bites. Hope this helps.
  12. My way may not work for everyone because of the expence, but I work on bridges and always have pvc and concrete on hand. I take the first ten inches of the pvc(side with the bell) and face it up in a bucket of concrete(put a screw in the bottom side so it will not ever come out). I put 12 to 18 pieces to a bucket, depending on the size of pipe(there is the expence, 12 to 18 bells means 12 to 18 pieces of pvc). When I go to the water I bring 3ft to 4ft pieces of pvc to put in each bell, glue them in and drop it. You can make it without the bell idea, just straight pvc, but much harder to transport. Great thing about the pvc is that you hardly ever get hung up.
  13. I use everything. Every rod and reel I use has a different bait and each bait I feel better on a certain rod reel combo. I use phfluger, abu garcia revos, shimano chronarchs, etc... and use falcon and duckett rods. I dont have a favorite all the time just with certain applications.
  14. One trick to know is on a catfish's head they have a small soft spot that you stick a thin wire into and it will kill it instantly. Other than catfish i dont know if any other fish do this. I normally don't keep fish I release, but when I do I put them on ice so I dont really have a problem with them being alive.
