  1. Yeah. Pretty sure it was a 4-5 on the official scale. I took the picture from my boat and had to zoom in and crop to get it big enough to see anything. Still looks pretty small even after doing that.
  2. First time to Wabaunsee with my neighbor today. He's 85 and hasn't fished much on a boat, but he handled his ned rig like a pro after I finally was able to talk him into using it. We had about 50 between the two of us with a good mix of smallmouth and largemouth. He caught his on a ned, and I fooled most of mine with a baby brush hog on a C&C rocker head but also caught fish on a wobbler, squarebill, and a senko. I lost all my good fish. Had one that was probably 3 lbs that flipped off as I was reaching for him at the boat. Lost another good one on a Mag Wart on the dam that threw it on the first jump. We caught 4 easily keeper crappie on the ned and brush hog that my neighbor kept for dinner. Here are some pictures I took of Bluebasser86 and Cassie today! A four An almost three
  3. Throw the ned. You'll be fine
  4. Took my wife and daughter out to lake Lenexa to see how much lake time a 1 year old could stand. Turns out about 30 minutes. Made 30 casts with a frog while tied to a tree and had 5 blowup on it. Landed one. This was at 2 in the afternoon, so I'm sure somebody could whack em pretty good out there and have some fun with a bit more time.
  5. You should tie up more than just one big one this time.
  6. Ain't hard to catch em at Douglas.
  7. I'll be there. Looking forward to Clayton's report from Miola later today.
  8. 1lb 1oz big bass. That's about all you need to know.
  9. Welcome. I'm in Mission too...at least for now. House sold last week.
  10. http://www.nwd-mr.usace.army.mil/rcc/nwk/7daylak3.txt Some crazy inflow numbers from this weekend after the rain. Lot of lakes 2-4' high now. Saw some pictures of the riprap by the Hillsdale Point ramp being completely submerged.
  11. Have a very cheap two piece 6' rod you could use. I think it's a berkely. Good thing is that it's cheap and I don't need it anymore, so I wouldn't really care if you broke it.
  12. Cut my fishing teeth at SMP back when I just had a john boat. Hate that it is trolling motor only, but I guess it keeps the traffic down. It's a fun lake, and I'll definitely be considering purchasing a permit again if the smallmouth fishing takes off.
  13. Guess I'll be throwing a topwater tomorrow.
  14. Fished Smithville today as a precursor to KC Corporate Challenge on Saturday. Caught a 3-6 and a 2-2 on baby brush hog very shallow in pockets with cover. Spawn should really get going this weekend with full moon and rising temps.
  15. Fished Leavenworth today. Was my first time out there. Pretty good bite early but no big ones. Caught some nice crappie on the ned and a 3 lb wiper on a jerkbait. Seems like the lake gets a lot of pressure. 6 or 7 boats in the water when I left in middle of day on a Wednesday.
  16. Got my bluewater LED kit awhile back and have been working on the install since I pulled the boat out of the deep freeze. Got the decks finished up tonight and will hopefully have the compartments and livewell finished tomorrow. I'll probably be headed to leavenworth on wednesday during the day to shake it all down before thursday nights start up to make sure I didn't break something else cause I t-tapped a bunch of lines that I use to power my electronics rather than run three more sets of power. Hope to see you guys on the water soon.
  17. Thanks for the tips. I haven't got the kit yet, but I'm already planning it out in my head. I ran the electrical for both of my lowrance units using waterproof heat shrink connectors, and when I snaked those I left an extra string in the conduits in case I had to do it again. I'm not too worried about running the wires or putting holes in my boat/livewell. I've found you can basically seal anything nowadays with the right product. Why did you go with separate switches instead of attaching to your Nav Light switch? I was thinking I'd just attach to the Nav switch...
  18. Any of you guys install bluewater led's yourself? thinking of putting them on my rig. Doesn't look too bad
  19. Jeez, man. Easy on the ice cream
  20. Can somebody poat a link to the "official" Thursday night scale?
  21. I don't think so either. Butler seems to be no wake for you Wichita boys. http://kdwpt.state.ks.us/KDWPT-Info/Locations/State-Fishing-Lakes/Region-4/Butler But it doesn't say anything about Douglas being no wake. http://kdwpt.state.ks.us/KDWPT-Info/Locations/State-Fishing-Lakes/Region-2/Douglas
  22. Let's run by Blue's place on the way and "borrow" his boat. It needs a proper test drive. Just put your pond hopper on his trailer, and he'll never know the difference.
  23. Anybody got an open seat tomorrow? Thinking about taking the day off if I can get out with someone.
