Should I Use Braid?
Once you get used to the sensitivity of braid its really hard to go back to straight mono/flouro. Like others, i highly recommend 10-15 braid for spinning reels, add a flouro/copoly leader for clear water. A shimano with 10-20lb braid is pretty much the best line management you'll ever get with a spinning setup.

Finesse Casting Rods, Phenix Recon And St. Croix Avid
I had that bfs paired with a phenix recon 682. Was too whippy for me, felt like a noodle. I'd go for the 683 if you go the recon route. Would be a killer finnese combo.

Found Some Gen1 Cumaras
Wonder how many cumulus rods they have in stock, would love to get a 6'10 for a backup, but at $350 cant do it...

Chronarch 51E
Best finesse reel for the money. And if you want to throw even lighter baits in the future you can always put in an avail spool in...

Finally Got My Nrx!!! Wohoooo!!!! (Pics)
Its really hit or miss, i shipped and & recieved broken rods from usps, ups, and fedex. I dislike fedex the most because they accused me of not shipping correctly and refused to cover it. I try to use usps as much as possible. If the rod is short enough, priority mail is the cheapest & fastest.

Megabass Orochi Xx
Nice, either one of those reels will pair nice with that rod. The curado will look really nice on it.

I know pvc doesnt guarantee an unbroken rod, but if the endcaps are put on correctly, you have a way better chance of getting your rod in one piece.

Wish more people shipped rods in pvc tubes. After about 30+ rods ive bought, atleast 5 showed up broken....

What Kind Of Line Will Best Suit My New Reel

Cost To Ship Rod
Definitely agree, use a pvc tube. Between the big 3, usps, ups, and fedex, ive shipped and recieved rods and all have been broken. So, i only ship in pvc now. If you want a guaranteed shipment, id use fedex ground with a pvc tube. I use usps priority from time to time which is the cheapest, but they constantly fail with there tracking system and the rod shows up late or gets lost.

Maxima Fishing Line
I gave the 20lb a shot for swimbaits and loved it. Liked it so much i tried out the 6 & 12. I think 10-12lb is a perfect crankin line.

Does Flourocarbon Matter As Much As Companies Say It Does
I think your general consumer just see's flouro in the name. most likely has no idea its a copoly. Im giving sunline another chance, just picked up a spool of 7lb sniper for my alde with the ktf spool. I feel like it'll be a good match. I tried tatsu and sniper in the past, i can justify sniper, tatsu is over the budget though. $37 for 200yds of flouro is a bit much... And this is coming from someone that doesnt typically budget himself when it comes to fishing, lol.

15 years ago i thought that was high end gear ^

Let's Play "remember When"
Still got it, mitchell 308 and a berkley rod. Dad won it in a miniature golf tourny back in the 60's. Id fish it for fun if there wasnt a hairline crack by the hook keeper....
-
Backing Knot
Id use old braid as backing and connect your flouro with an alberto knot.

Let's Play "remember When"
Remember when.... All you had was one of these, a handful of lures. old fiberglass rod, mitchell 308, 8lb mono, and thats all you needed.... [
