  1. I'll also vouch for the Cortland toothy critter. I was up at coeur d' alene lake last year fishing in a tournament. I lost like five or so baits before my boating partner gave me some Cortland toothy critter. I didn't loose anything after that.
  2. I too remove the split rings and use duo locs.
  3. I use 80 # on my okuma Swim bait. I started out with 30 and like mentioned I lost a few baits.
  4. I have yet to reach that 7 pound mark as well, but have numerous fish in the six pound range caught out of Jordanelle Res. I wish I had my pictures still, but my Cpu crashed about six months ago and away they went. I had about tens years worth of pictures
  5. First would be roboworm straight tail in 4.5" & 7" in bold bluegill and tequila sunrise. Second would be chomper drop shot worms and third would probably be 4" Maniac salt stick in changeable craw, or 4" *** bass trick sticks in tomato core.
  6. Hey, thank you for the input. It's much appreciated
  7. I believe in Utah you can only have two hooks if I'm not mistaken. I was looking at them today at Sportsman's warehouse and they do look interesting.
  8. My fav is the maniac salt stick in changeable craw w/ orange texas rigged fishing it down off the rock piles, or a lucky craft pointer 78 in the smallmouth color and brown or rainbow trout.
  9. Those chompers are one of my favorite soft plastics, that and roboworms. I probally have every color in roboworms 4 1/2" straight tail.
  10. I'll be in Texas March 22nd thru April 2nd and would like to target some bass. I have a trip planned to lake fork, but am also planning on going to few different places like lake Lavon and lake Winnsboro. I'm from Utah, so I'm not sure if my tackle other than my jigs really have what it takes. (I throw alot of shallow cranks and finesse rigs.) I'm just looking for some insight of what would typically be used this time of year down there. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Jacob
  11. Once again I'll be going to Texas later this month and would appreciate some input on what lures I should look into bringing. I live in Utah and mostly throw small shallow running cranks and finesse type setups. I'm not sure if these would be worth bringing? I'll be in the Dallas area and have a guided trip set, but would like to go to some other places as well. I'll be taking a MH baitcasting rod, a M glass crank rod and a M spinning rod. Any input would be much appreciated.
  12. What size trailer hook would you typically use on a 3/8 oz spinnerbait?
  13. Hey, thank you very much for the link!
  14. Thanks all for the warm welcome
  15. I know where you coming from living in Utah and all. A good few fly fishermen around here give off that elitist vibe. Especially on the middle and lower Provo river. I avoid those places like the plague.
  16. Thank you much.
  17. I will be going to Texas March 22nd thru the 2nd of April. I am kicking around a idea of getting a guide for lake fork and was wondering about recommendations? I am still green when it comes to bass fishing and would like to bring a fly rod along for the trip. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jacob
  18. Hi my name is Jacob and I just recently got into bass fishing about two years ago. I use to primarily fly fish until a good friend at work got me into a local bass club and I was hooked. My favorite rods are Fenwicks and don't really have a particular favorite reel brand. My favorite techniques are dropshotting and pitching Jigs. Nice to meet you all and tight lines
