Thanks for the replies guys, I have high end cranking rods but they are all for 15+ divers and I don't feel enough with them if I choose to throw a DT5 or Bomber A 8ft. I might go with the Powell, but I saw a few rods that I liked today that had a very bulky blank. Does the powell have a blank similar to the thickness of the Skeet Reese Cranking Glass rod?

I use Copolymer rated for 14#s as backing, I put 5 yards on.

I'm with JF on this, if that was me, I woulda been upset, now the fact they were elders I probably wouldn't have thrown something at them because that's just lack of respect, but I would be pretty furious talking to them. How can you not see a kayaker with a BIG ass ORANGE flag at the stern of the kayak. The whole point of the flag is to avoid that situation, boaters that are not responsible should not be allowed to launch.

Especially the kids younger than me that don't wear a life jacket.

I let the big bucks walk, I've had a nice mature 8 pointer line up beside a fork horn, took him instead. I think the older ones should walk, I'm not into mounting anything unless it's a trout, fox, coyote and squirrel.

I got bit by a recluse here in VA, found a home inside my kayak when it wasn't in use, that was not a joyful experience.
