Rip Bud The Catfish
May have been 5 feet. I am positive that the manager told me that fish was 65 years old and weighed almost 150 pounds. :-)

Rip Bud The Catfish
Just by looking at the pictures I took last year when we went maybe 4 feet.

Rip Bud The Catfish
The guy there said it was given to them by someone who had it since it was young. They said it was 65 years old when it died based on how old it was when they got it and how long it was there in their tank. I think Bud was there since it opened.

Rip Bud The Catfish
Went to Bass Pro Shop in Concord NC today. Was really excited to show my wife and daughter the huge 150lbs blue catfish named Bud in the tank. However, he died from a bacteria a few weeks ago at the age of 65. Also, there was an albino catfish in with him too that also died from the same bacteria. Apparently the aquarium has been cleaned and a new 54lbs blue catfish will be added in a couple weeks. Joe

Bass Pro Shop Trip!
The one we are going to in Concord NC has "uncle bucks". It's a really big snack shop. Has tables and stuff. Sandwiches, hot dogs, I've cream, etc. The food is great there too.

Fishing Year Round
Mitch, I started fishin seriously 2 years ago Christmas Day. Talk about frustration. Lol I practiced 7 days a week. Learning knots, casts, species, etc. read countless books, mags, and watched every show and video I could find. Here it is present day, I still do all of the above. Except I have something I didn't before,,,,, experience. Keep it up year round and it gets better every day!

Fishing Year Round
It is awesome. Getting up early and bundling up. Just cruising the lake and watching the water. Find a downed tree. Drop shot. Hook set. :-)

Fishing Year Round

Fishing Year Round
As long as there is no thunder, lightning, hail, monsoon, etc. I will fish. There are some locals here that put away their gear in about September and leave it tucked away until the next spring about May. I would go nuts! I caught some giants last winter on drop shots. Some of the people here hunt when they are not fishing on chilly weather. Others just leave the tackle alone to sit in the shed. How many of you all are the year round folk like me? Joe

What Was That Monster?!
If that is the case then it had to be Asian. I need to find out if they make home in NC. Or if someone put one or more in there years ago. I would have gone in after it had it not scared the poop out of me. Lol
