Weedless Swim Bait
Ok. I'll try that. :-)

Weedless Swim Bait
I can puppet a minnow pretty effectively (toot toot) and the bass love it. I need a weedless option for these little guys. ;-)

Weedless Swim Bait
I love the swim baits I have but here in NC the hydrangea is growing with the other green under the water. I use a lot of weedless stuff too, but I like my minnows. They catch the snot grass ALL the time. Do they have weedless minnows or can I make one of mine weedless?

Pollen Hide And Go Seek
Here in NC the weather has been 80's and sunny just about every day. Also, we get our annual dose of pollen. I was in the water today and while trolling along, I couldn't get a hit for almost half an hour on anything, anywhere. I noticed a light breeze and it pushed all the "surface pollen" to a cove in the corner. I had an idea that maybe a bass or two decided to take cover. Man was I right!!! Lol. Cast after cast they took that plastic minnow. In the words of Hank Parker, "they shmashed 'em"

Are These Bass Beds?
Cool. At least they are in view. :-)

Are These Bass Beds?
So to be blunt, when they are in the beds like this, have they already "had the mate process" or is this before or after?

Are These Bass Beds?
I saw those and I thought someone dropped a trash can lid in the water. I walked closer and saw the fish. I almost had a heart attack.......

Are These Bass Beds?
How long will these beds be there for? A couple weeks? Months? I dunno. :-(

Are These Bass Beds?
I scared her away when I came by. :-( I was on the bank. If I had my boat I could've snuck up behind her trolling and cast into it.

Are These Bass Beds?
With me bass fishing for a little over a year I have yet to see my first bass bed. The temperatures here in North Carolina have climbed to the upper 60s and low 70s this last week. I went to some local ponds and lakes that I fish and I found these images. Are these beds? Did I do a good job sight fishing? Lol In one of these areas I dropped a swim bait minnow out in front of the fish and after three attempts it took it. My pole with a lizard was not close by and swim bait was all that I had.

Help With Mounting Transducer
Mine has 5 speeds forward and reverse. Should I just drill?

Help With Mounting Transducer
If I just have a regular trolling motor and no other electronics, where would my interference come from then? The water flow from the propeller? I'm torn if I should mount it on the TM or just drill and epoxy. The trolling motor is the easiest option, but the drilling is the most reliable but it takes a bit more work. Joe

Help With Mounting Transducer
Again, my John boat is all aluminum and I would have to drill in the bottom of the floor or drill into the rear outside bottom corner. Both locations would have the two screws clean through the boat.

Help With Mounting Transducer
How reliable would the recommended transom mount be with marine epoxy? I used marine epoxy for a hole as big as a pea and it is dry as a bone. If I drilled into the bottom of the boat, I would need to put the epoxy all around the two screw holes. Once it dries overnight I should be good right?

Help With Mounting Transducer
NBR, That's exact what I want to do. I'm glad to hear it worked for you. :-)

Help With Mounting Transducer
That kit is like eighty bucks. Trying to save money and just do it without the kit. Can I just mount it to the trolling motor with clamps? I don't see why I couldn't. I could run the wires carefully just like it was bolted on.

Help With Mounting Transducer
Looking at the Lowrance Elite 5 DSI. The transducer says to mount at the bottom at the boat by drilling into the lower hull. I have an aluminum John Boat and if I do that, I will have to hassle with marine epoxy to plug up any water leakage around the screws for the bracket. They make a trolling motor kit for $80 to attach it to my trolling motor. Can I just get some reliable clamps from a hardware store and mount it with the existing transducer to my trolling motor and save the money? - Joe

What Does This Button Do?
5 Dollar Fishing Game replied to 5 Dollar Fishing Game's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsI've only messed with the knob on the other side. (So I don't backlash). The knob I use I allow the lure to gently fall to the ground when I tie on a new bait. The other side where this button is usually has a dial from 1-10 which I always set to 5 in my other reels. Is there a link or video that tells me how to adjust this style?
