  1. Are most of those regulations for length? Or can they be for weight too? Any red fish longer than 25 inches had to go back in the water. They didn't say anything about their weight though. I can't imagine a weight limit. For example what if you caught a 24 inch red fish that weighed 12 pounds. You would hate to throw that one back.
  2. I was watching a redfish tournament today on TV. Several times the competitors said the fish was "too big" and had to throw it back. This happened a number of times. Why would you have to throw a fish back that is too big?
  3. Teal, I found some good deals on Raleigh Craigslist. Will definitely keep my project boat. Like I said, my daughter and I put a bunch of time into it. And who ever said more than one boat is a bad thing ;-)
  4. I will definitely have to keep a picture of it next to the steering wheel. Lol As crazy as it sounds I have grown quite attached to this little monster. You guys can see the before and after pictures in this thread section too. It was actually a lot of fun. ;-). I believe the original thread is titled my first boat project.
  5. Our daughter helped me paint it and "make it" so it's sentimental. :-)
  6. Still keeping the John boat though as it is my first project.
  7. Leaving the boat as is. Just a trolling motor and what you see. Two people tops. Unless my six year old sits on the middle bench. Buying a nitro or a ranger in the next few months.
  8. If you are hinting that it is too close to the end, the boat has already passed that test. When I fish solo I obviously sit in the back at the motor. I walked to the front on the water and sat there by myself also. No issues and both seats are very plush. With two people, the passenger at the front is fine there as well. Actually quite "appealing" and comfortable too....
  9. I'm not "concerned", just curious. When it was bare I could carry that thing myself by the side easily. There are no tags or anything on it. I did however guesstimate the boat bare at 100 pounds and with all the stuff on it in the picture I figured about 250. I just may carry it canoe style. Lol
  10. In that case as pictures it's probably about 250lbs. My goal is to keep the weight in the boat with gear and passenger under 400. I've had more but I don't want to risk it.
  11. Average that will be in it with me and wife and daughter or one or the other is about 400 with gear at most and solo and gear maybe 300. How much does the boat look like it weighs now? Just curious.
  12. 10 foot aluminum. Also how much can it hold with passengers and gear? last year we had it with about 500lbs of gear and people just fine. It didn't have the seats on it though. The trolling motor did well and had no stability issues. Just curious as to how much it weighs in this picture with the battery, trolling motor, fish finder, seats, and the rod holders are like a pound each.
  13. I wound up putting a seat on the front and a seat on the back I left the center bench empty. It is very stable in the water. I've had several compliments too from the before pictures and after when they see it. :-)
  14. I'm gonna do some testing today to see how it planes with the water based in where they need to go. :-)
  15. Seats aren't bolted down yet. Just sitting there. They can be moved. The paint is an outdoor mix with primer and paint included. Then a clear coat.
  16. Sudbury, that thing tipped then slid across the highway. It was sad. Shrapnel everywhere.
  17. It looked like a brand new Ranger. Not sure of the model.
  18. Teal, my guess of $85k has to be close. I think it was close to that with what he had and the motor, electronics, trolling stuff, power polls.
  19. His truck was okay but the boat was totaled. Electronics smashed and the power pole bent in an "L". Fiberglass all over. Terrible.
  20. Saw a guy on highway 401 here in Raleigh North Carolina take a turn to quick and flip over his $85,000 bass boat. No pics because it was hard enough to drive around. Truck was Cops and EMS everywhere. Be careful out there when you're towing your prize!
  21. Trolling motor issue for Ike I think. Man this is gonna be a close one today!!!!!!
