  1. Yep. It's the snot grass. Lol never heard it called that before. Swim bait like you said worked the best.
  2. Yep. Did that and those bass attacked it. Then the bite stopped after about 30 mins. However, looking back I wonder if a weed less Carolina rig would do well just tossed right into the moss?
  3. Forage is 99% of the pond floor. It went down like I said about 1-2 feet. So if the water appears 2 feet deep it is actually about 3-4 ft counting the forage. I was just surprised that they popped up out if that stuff out if no where. So I guess when the water warms up in match they come out to "enjoy the weather" and feed?
  4. Lenses were polarized Berkleys. Just always thought of bass as suspending in open water; not hiding in giant grass blades lol. He pulled a Houdini.
  5. Fished a pond today with a friend and caught a few on swim baits. The pond is about the size of a football field. The corners drop to about 6 feet but the rest of the pond is about 3 feet. The water is crystal clear however the entire bottom has moss like grass about 1 foot. Can bass hide within the very bottom? What I mean is that I coasted a minnow where there was no movement and it almost looked like the bass "shot out" of the moss and took the lure. Then when I put him back in he swam straight under the boat. If the bass "hid" in the moss they are not visible to me. In the summer you can see dozens of bass swimming all over. In the cold now they seem to have disappeared. Was wondering if they are warm and toasty in the mossy stuff.
  6. Hello from Fuquay Varina! We have a beach house in Kure also. :-)
  7. Jigs and drop shots are ready for tomorrow! So even though it is extremely cold at some times, they still gotta eat, but the bite is less frequent?
  8. Good point. How much warmer is the deeper water than the top?
  9. So is there a certain temperature that bass will pretty much say "no way it's too cold for me to eat". I know I've caught them in 40 degree weather buy it has been a bit colder in nc the last couple days. I haven't been out since. Joe.
  10. 2 hours then lunch then 2 more hours. Lol
  11. My friend and I enjoyed it. We spent 4 hours in there and ate lunch at their restraunt they had. Food was pretty good. A little over 2 hours each way to drive there. Once the one here in Cary NC gets done, it will be about a 15 minute drive. :-)
  12. Well, not sure about hootie, but I did it several times on purpose. :-) Jax and Milo were chasing it like some serious large mouth. Lol
  13. Lol! We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and the dogs don't care when I practice with a small weight. The cats however are a different story. They chase that thing all over the garage. Lol
  14. Man I did that soooo many times today. Lol
  15. Clothes, rebel pop r lures, crank baits, decals, worms galore, lures lures lures!!!! Too much to list. Lol
  16. Man that was awesome! 4 hours and an undisclosed amount later, I am one happy angler. :-)
  17. Just me and one of my buds that's it. Lol
