  1. I heard that the buff gloves were not comfortable when wet compared to others?
  2. I was thinking maybe like a three pound braid which makes it like 6 or 8 pound test.
  3. Just got a pflueger trion micro, and put it on a 5ft ultralight Berkley cherrywood. Should I spool up with 4lb mono or flouro, or use that size equivalent braid to get a little more strength? Maybe a hybrid line?
  4. Well, on a trip to Walmart for groceries, I stopped in the clearance fishing section. I got a pflueger trion micro, and put it on a 5ft UL cherrywood, 19 for the rod 20 for the reel. Should be a fun little setup:)
  5. How should I have my settings on the baitcaster.? I practice but I can still only cast maybe 40 ft, idk I don't judge distance well but it's not far. And can I use a stiffer line on a baitcaster?
  6. Great to know! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? I don't have a ton of cash floating around and they seem to be a little pricey, but they seem like a good little investment.
  7. Thanks for the info, i was looking at the Simms gloves because of the open palm, supposed to help with grip on the rod and reel. And the buff sounds great, I like all the options on how to wear it. And congratulations on fighting through the cancer, I'm glad you can still enjoy a great hobbie out in the wonderful outdoors:)
  8. I have a Johnny Morris bait casting reel in a 6:4:1 ratio, on a 7' MH BPS Nitro. What would be the best use for this combo? Thanks for the help!
  9. Good to know, I would still like more feedback, but the trion is winning right now. And again, what are the advantages and disadvantages to front or rear drag?
  10. I don't thnk landing a bass on a 5wt is a problem, I use a 6wt. But when casting larger flies, an 8wt would do much better. From what I understand it is also much easier to cast larger flies if you can double haul, which I am in the process of learning to do.
  11. Whats the advantages and disadvantages to front and rear drag?
  12. I know tackle warehouse has the Daiwa Laguna, Okuma Avenger, and Quantum Q-VEX. Reviews in any of these? i want to use one for my Light setup.
  13. I have the gloves for stripping line when im fly fishing, im tires of cuts and line burns.
  14. Im looking at getting some sun gear, i think i have decided on Simms sun gloves, but what about neck/head wear? I was looking at either the Simms Sun Gator, or Buff Angler Headwear. Reviews, suggestions?
  15. I think im going to get simms sun gloves, but as for neck/head wear, should i get simms sun gaiter, or Buff angler headwear? any suggestions slash reviews?
  16. Iv heard great things about the Lightning rod as well, but it tends to be about 20 dollars more, for what your looking for though, sounds to me like Berkley is the way to go.
  17. I have had my cherry wood for a long time, and for a cheap rod its great, its still running strong.
  18. I just got a Redington Pursuit in a 6 weight, for 110 bucks, im loving it! Good performance and i still have some cash in my pocket.
  19. Thanks, but i was looking for something a little more on the cheap side of things.
