  1. This xs1∅000000000000000000
  2. I use to use the ci4. Just wasnt as smooth as i liked it to be. Took it back amd got the patriarch. Smoothest 200$ spinning reel. Great drag. Just as light as the ci4. Only issue is the spool could be larger. I went from the ci4 1000 to the 9530. Love the reel. However if i was going to be spending around 350 for one, it would be the shimano sustain.
  3. Only rods i fish are legend tourneys and legend xtremes(except for 2). Wouldnt trade them for anythng. Fantastic rods. Some blank st.croix makes are underrated. Some are not. I qctually own the ltb 7'1 mhf. Rod will exceed your expectations if you havent used higher end rods. The rod is very sensitive. As for your spinning set up, i would personally go with the 610mlxf. I use the legend xtreme 69mlxf and its probably my favorite rod i own. I use it for pitching ng 1/16oz - 5/16 oz jigs for walleye and then most all finese bass fishing. 3/8 weight would be the max id use for either rod as the tip would start to lose its purpose. Id be using casting gear anyway bass fishing with that weight.
  4. The price of that ebay auction is ridiculously high. Xts can be found new for 250.00.
  5. They did. It was the curadoE. Just not as refined.
  6. There is.. http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/Tuning_handles_Shimano.htm
  7. I would be all over a new glx but if I can get a 844c for a clearance price, I'm going to refreshing the website every second until when i hear they are going so i can buy the lot before 00_mod
  8. anything ending in .97 or .47 is clearance and an additional 25% off the red tag. Look closely to others though, sometimes a clearance item doesn't have a red tag there and you can miss a sweet deal.
  9. I've seen that before too at a bait shop. A guy bought something like 10 of them right when he came in and said to the lady "these babies catch fish" I haven't seen the black packaged ones since. It would be interesting to know if there is a difference though.
  10. If you have ever owned/used a pixy, type r(especially this) or steez you would.
  11. I use a very moderate mh rod for shallow/mid cranking and 12-15lb fluoro and do occasionally have fish shake off but very rarely.
  12. I think within the past 3 years the avid blank was updated but thats about it. The only st.croix release for icast this year is the new (or alternative to the current from what they are saying) xtreme rods. Legend tournaments were done last year as well as the walleye with the release of the eyecon/rage. It seems that the avid would be next in line but i just dont see it for another year or two. You won't be disappointed with either though.
  13. Xship is a double bearing supported pinion. Diawa has had this on ther higher ends reels for a long time.
  14. Actually diawa had its own version of xship first. Even though i only fish shimano with a few pfleugers and diawas, there is an abundence of shimano pushing for more of their mid tier reels when companies now are putting out comparable products.
  15. Zoom trick worm in green pumpkin/blue tail dipped in jjs chart.
  16. I'm a big fan of the 1.0 and 1.5 in sexy shad, chart/balck back and a custom red/black/orange.
  17. this is good advice.
  18. Has anybody used the new quantum kinetic pt yet? Im a shimano guy but have a deal that could be too good to pass up for a 6:3:1. Pros/cons? Can it cast 1/4 oz baits on up? http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Reels/Casting-Reels|/pc/104793480/c/104760180/sc/104259780/Quantum-Kinetic-PT8482-Casting-Reel/1307306.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-fishing-reels-casting-reels%2F_%2FN-1102352%2FNe-583%2FNo-48%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104259780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat104793480%253Bcat104760180%26WTz_srn%3DBy%2BBrand%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNP%26recordsPerPage%3D48&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104793480%3Bcat104760180%3Bcat104259780
  19. I do not switch. It feels more natural to cast right handed and reel left.
  20. I use that same line for my shallow cranks. Really impressed with its castability and sensitivity. Not the most abrasion resistance of seaguars line up though.
  21. Have not used the rod but the curado should give you no problems. Love mine. Great great reel.
  22. The revo s is on sale for 99$ which is only 10$ more than the caenen. Id give that a look over those 2.
  23. I just received a second pack of 5/0 ewg hooks. Pretty neat.
