6Lb Sufix 832
If fished 6 lb 832 jigging walleye and its held up to 7# walleyes and 25# lb big head carp. 4 lb smallies wont be an issue. Just check for fray.

6Lb Sufix 832
Im going to respectfully disagree. Ive used both 832 6/2 and pps8 10/2 and both are very similiar in diameter. If you are by chance basing your finding on what the spool says as how much line capacity the ci4 has, thats for mono, not superline. They are different measurments. My 1000 ci4 gets 3 spools of pp super 8 10/2 with not a lot of backing. There is no chance super 8 slick is 10/5 or even 10/4. Shimano made this line to compete with 832.

Do Think St Croix Would Do This
yes, they definitely would. The avid line was revamped around 3-4 years ago.

6Lb Sufix 832
Suffix 832 is 6/2. Power pro super 8 slick is 10/2. I like super 8 high vis yellow more than 6/2 lime.

Do Think St Croix Would Do This
The rod is most likely the older version avid. Dicks ran a huge clearance on them over the winter. St. Croix wouldnt let you send it in for a "swap" but you could send it to them and they would send you the avid you want for shipping cost plus 10% depreaction value per year based on your rods age. Go to st. Croixs website it will tell you how to check the date on your rod based on the ID above the handle. The value of your rod is 190. So if your rod is 5 years old you would get a 95$ credit for your avid (190*10%)*(5)-95$ depreciation 190-95-95. So the 66mf is 180 plus 20$ shipping . 200-95 you would owe 105 plus 10$ shipping to them. Not worth it IF you have an old rod. Your rod goes up 19$ per year so check the date of it.

Mono Or Fluro
Well "rando line" from dicks in my area would refer to seaguar which i recommend highly. I dont like invizx because its too stretchy like mono but you may like it. Very abrasion resistant and easy to handle. I prefer the red label seaguar. Very easy to handle and has the lowest stretch of seaguars lines. But if you want to just jump right in to it and abvoid any hastle with it you can try tatsu, toray fluoro, or sunline shooter. All very good fluoro. I use sunline on a few of my reels but its something i have to order as i dont have any place near me that sells it.

Mojo Vs Legend Tournament
while you do have a valid point that spending the extra cash won't really "make" you a better fisherman, it does come down to quality. before owning legend extremes and legend tournaments, i used to have some mojos bass rods. while they performed well, they were built less than what i would consider quality. each rod i owned had at least 3 guide inserts fall out while some had 5. this was from using 10-15 lb fluoro... without getting into a what's better and why you don't need to spend for a rod or why you do, i will just say i will 100% of the time pay twice the amount of money (St. Croix mojo vs St. Croix Legend tournament) for a rod that is built better and has a life time warranty vs a 5 year warranty. St. Croix's customer service is excellent as well.

Mojo Vs Legend Tournament
I own the 69mlxf legend extreme and have fished a partners 68mxf. Id choose the 69 mlxf anyday. However for uour multi purpose i would choose the 6'8 for wjat you want.

Esp Rods?
I know some of you trout fish small streams/rivers and im looking for a new rod for small spinners/drifting jigs. Has anybody used these new(ish) esp ultra lights? In particular the 6'6 ultralight not the power light. Seems like they have really nice reviews but info is few and far between.

Bps New Extreme Xps Rod?
So i made the mistake of letting my 11 year old cousin fish with my st croix legend tournaments and legend extremes so he wont pick up his lightning rod anymore. He kept telling his mom "i want an extreme". So since i take him out a few times a month i though i would get him the bps new extreme since its cheaper than dropping a rod worth 5-6 xs that over board. Hes tall so i was thinking of getting him the 6'6 mh or 6'10 mhxf for his jigs/weightless plastics. Hes using a citicaE on it. Hows the sensivity/weight of the rod? Dont wanna let the little guy down with a flop.

How Do You Hold Your Rod/reel?
Casting gear i one or two finger the trigger most of the time and palm when throwing jerks. More relaxed feeling. Spinning i hold the foregrip above the reel on the cork. Feel a lot more this way.

A Little St Croix Advice Please
All my rods are st.croix and the majority of them are legend extremes amd legend tournaments because i prefer the split grip. The recoil guides are nice and havent caused me any issues. There is alot of people saying that a croix is underrated. This is true for some of thir lines but their M is not a true Mh and their mh is not a H. This is the legend through the extreme series. I dont have much experience with the lower end rods except the mojo bass cranking rod Mhm which was certainly not a H rod. My new legend tournament MHM is also not close to a H power. The extreme and elite i am almost certain are built on the same blank with the differences being the components (guides grip etc). There is a 7mhf and 7mf in the extremes and legends elites. You camt go wrong with either. Both are great lines.

Shimano Sienna 4000Fd ?
Still the bottom end professor....
-
Shimano Sienna 4000Fd ?
Well its the bottom end of the shimano line so the features it shares with the higher end shimanos are very slim if any. The reel is smooth ill give it that but theres too much plastic which would make me question its longevity unless you are careful with it.

Shimano Sienna 4000Fd ?
Im pretty sure thats the regular price...

**shimano Stradic Ci4**
I use 2 stradic ci4s the 1000 and the 2500. The 1000 i use for walleye with 6-10lb pp super8 and the 2500 i use 8-10# fluoro for bass wacky rigs and drop shots. The above post is a bit out of left field saying to use a 4000 size spool for 8-10# fluoro.....the 2500 handles it with ease and is very manageable. Ive put 6lb mono on the 1000 just to try amd it worked great. I owned the fi versions and upgraded to the ci4s and am much happier. The fi nd fj just felt like tanks on my rods when i upgraded. The ci4 gives a perfect feeling and perfect balance to my legend extreme 69mlxf. The biggest draw back people seem to have with the ci4 is the foam handle. Some like it some hate it so they go for the paddles on the fi/fj. Ive pulled 20 lb flatheads out of 20 feet of river current pitching wingdams for walleye with the 1000 and it handled them as well as carp flawlessly. Using this reel and the weight saving factor will be determined by the rod you use. The reels are very light and unless you have the right rod it will feel tip heavy. If it does try the fi or fj. Both are solid reels. Unless your saltwater fishing i cant imagine using over a 2500 series reel. I think my ci4 is smoother than my fis were but the difference isnt much to where you will be "wowed". Gonna have to go to the stella for that. But the ci4 is a very smooth reel.

Silent Lipless Cranks
anybody have any idea what stores sell them? i was at cabelas a few days ago to pick up some for the spring as i saw a few in their catalog. both fishing sales men looked at me as if i was speaking latin and flat out told me they don't have them. i explained that they were in the catalog and as you are a d/c i'm sure you have them somewhere in the plant. they told me they didn't carry them.....how lame is that? so i'm going to avoid going there for a bit as that was ridiculous...i may just have to order some but i'm close to a few cabelas and a bass pro shop/dicks and curious if anybody has found any on shelves anywhere?

Kvd 1.0
I throw them a mile with ease on a 7'mhm/curado51. What ree/rod are you using?

Walmart?
x2. walmart would probably exchange a half empty bottle of soda. just go in their and ask to exchange it. i'm sure you won't be asked any questions.

What Size Spinning Reel?
I personally fish to 1000 series shimano reels but do a lot of walleye fishing so line capacity isn't a huge issue. 2500 series reels seem to be a very common standard in which people buy.

What Do You Use Your Avid For?
I got that exact rod for a STEAL from Dick's when they had their .97 cent sale. rod was marked down to 99.97 and i got it for just shy of 75$. had a model number from st.croix only 2 years old i believe and i trade up to the legend tournament for WAY less than cost or a legend, led alone an avid. i did use it for a few days and it was a very nice trig/plastic rod.
