Hey Big-O Since this thread is anything RAGE. Have u fished any of the Rage saltwater products? I ran across the crabs and shrimp here at Dick's the other day almost grabbed a pack of the crabs, they were on sale. Do you have and tips, tricks or info for any of the saltwater Rage products? A favorite maybe? I am sure one of them shrimp might get me a LMB here in the St Johns River huh.
  2. Yeah LaRoche is a huge piece, but I hear he has a shot at staying. O's said they might make La Roche an offer in that case please take Reynolds lol. Hoping the O's pull in Hamilton, long shot. But back to the Nats, I think Sanchez is asking too much for what he is and Greinke would be great, probably is too much $ for too long though. But I definitely think he will fair out much better in the NL. Excited to see Strasburg back to full strength without any limits. Hope he posts 20 wins. With him and Gio 1-2 spots in the rotation should at least be very good looks like Lannan is gone and detweiler is in the rotation
  3. So what's ur thoughts on the Nats free agency situation? I personally like Edwin Jackson, u think they should shell out some $$ and ink him long term? Or you think the should shell out some $$$ or $$$$ and go for Greinke or Sanchez? Lower but good solid innings guys are Dempster and Guthrie. whom both I like as well but deffinately not as dynamic.
  4. Lol that is for sure in told the cards fan when they faced him congrats lol boy was I wrong! So what is the deal with Tim is he back in the rotation next yr? Is this a buy low sleeper deal? I am sure 75% of folks are going to draft a more "sure" starting pitcher before him. Would u gamble?
  5. Agree, Gaints played like a TEAM, hats off to Tim Lincecum for doing what was best for the team. And the rest of the guys too. You don't see that much in pro sports anymore can't wait to talk it up will y'all next season, we have what 3 almost 4 months til pitchers and catchers report!
  6. Own two pfluegers, one president and one templar. They are by far the best finish and durability for the price. Very smooth too. U may also want to checkout the purist too, while very similar to the president it boasts higher grade bearings, sealed carbon drag and hybrid construction for $20 more. Dunno if all that is worth it to you. I have yet to touch one and play around with it.
  7. Well I never fished frogs, hollow body type, I wouldn't do so with my setup. I have heard many of you all that do you gotta set the hook good n hard on them. With the soft toads/other plastic topwater I fish, a bass hits, 2-3 seconds and boom set. Never have to swing for the fences, just use a 4/0 or 5/0 EWG weightless on the setup I mentioned before. That being said I do understand to a point where the heavy braid setups come into play, it is with heavy pads and hollow body frogs. To the OP I guess you have to decide on your setup based on type of cover (lite weeds/grass vs pads) and type of frog (soft plastic/hollow). You see both ends of the spectrum and what you feel comfortable with. It all catches fish.
  8. I guess it just depends where you are fishing. I am fishing ponds with grass/weeds under water, near the edge or light grass sticking up maybe some lite slop. One pond only has weeds at the edge(carp do a nice job). No reeds or lily pads in any ponds around. The fish hits top water it is out of the weeds, n he just never gets back down in them. I had one pond problem was the dead weeds near shore, 20# braid fixed the but majority of the time I am running 8#. I always think people that run that heavy braid are nuts unless ur fishing lily pads i guess. Lol My question is this, what type of line do you use to throw a buzzbait? It is no different right, fished the same way IMO.
  9. I lived in st Pete and second what fishindaddy said. But will add there is good shore/wade fishing for salt water species there. But if freshwater is what u prefer look into lake Seminole(think it is brackish) http://www.pinellascounty.org/park/08_seminole.htm There is mirror lake and miggiore http://www.stpeteparksrec.org/lake-maggiore-park.html Lake Seminole is probably the closest to the pass and has decent shore acess and a couple ponds within. Mirror lake is small of 20th ave n 4th street. Guess it is 10 acres at the most. Tons if shore acess very busy but never saw many fishing it. Don't know much about maggiore only know of it. I know of another park at the end of 15th and 25 or 26 street (use google earth) if you are interested in salt there is park off central ave to fish off the wall. And right by you there is a park near the veterans hospital. Or fort desoto state park. Can give u a few more ideas if u want. South for bass is the braden river, here is manatee's web http://www.mymanatee.org/home/government/departments/parks-and-recreation/parks/braden-river-park.html The websites should give u some ideas of piers, ramps etc. and u can see other places than what I listed. Hope this helps
  10. I fish them just fine on my 6'-6" MH/F carbonlite rod with pflueger spinning reel and 8# stren megathin mono. Use vibe worms topwater on that as well as various weighted and unweighted plastics. The frogs are on the heavy end as far as weightless soft plastics go(comparing to say a weightless trick worm) and plenty cast far on this setup. never hand an issue with using 8# the fish never get a chance to bury themselves in thick weeds.
  11. Yes all the time. I fish on the way to work do usually I only have time for a lure or two. Or I take one of topwater, vibe worms or toads, and one of something else like trick worm, stick or fluke and us just those two. Or sometimes same lure but 2 different colors. like others there are times when u wish u had more. It is good though if one presentation doesnt work you have try other methods until u get a strike.
  12. Awesome reel! Not a bad collection of booze either lol
  13. Nice fish. What time were u out? We hit a spot at 645 left around 830 with 1 between us and a couple misses. But the pond down the street had them bust bait and my buddy landed 3 small ones. Said they were done by 930. Pressure was up and down today. Hoping Monday or Tuesday is good, they have that front coming through. It is gonna be tough for me to get out but want to so bad. Lol I would think skinner would hold some decent fish, it also flows to a creek. I think though it might have some pretty heavy pressure and if people keep them. And u can really only acess that one side.

Got a pack of watermelon(only color they had) at Walmart lastnight. Got one on it, fishing was slow today all around fog came in. Hope to get some other colors shortly. Can't wait to fish the spot I have in mind for these.
  15. X2 on the belt buckle http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0015HOFAS?in=1&is=300 Something like this, the bigger the better.
  16. I have fished the big one on the right business park once. Talked to a guy fishing also when i was there he said it has bass and a gator. I fished it early summer, June, and haven't gotten a chance to get back up that way. I fished the area closest to skinner but looking on google earth there are some nice areas around back. Me and my buddy have been meaning to get up there and try it out again. I will let u know if we do.

I know what I am going to pick up this weekend. I have been waiting, I have read/heard that lizards where more of a bed/spawn bait and reds and chart where good colors. Sound like they can be used anytime. What is some of the more popular colors, that is always a weak point of mine, there are so many. Should I choose them to what works for worms in my area like blk w/ blue flk, junebug, red shad? or go something more natural?
  18. You ever watch any Disney movies? Darby O'Gill or Pinochio, sword and the stone etc. If that is not exposing your kids to drinking and smoking. I think it is funny and I have never seen mine act it out. You all are correct it is an overly sensative society that wants to butt into everyone elses business. Shame, if people worried about their own actions half as much as their neighbor they would probably be better people than thinking they were better people.
  19. Nice work guys. Got a couple missed a nicer one today on the blugill shad flukes. Cold this morning, 50 is too F-ng cold for me, I think I need to move further south. LOL nothing on popper or weightless trick worm. when I worked the fluke fast was what they seemed to like....slow was a no go.
  20. Once you come down u will never want to go back lol trust me, my parents just retired and jumped at the chance to move here.
  21. ^^^X2 or any of the Pflueger spinning reels are great reels for the price you are looking in. Here is something I read on the subject a while ago. http://www.fieldands...-narrow-vs-wide
  22. Is that a move forward or backward LOL. As an O's fan as long as they keep hochvar in the rotation I will be happy. LOL Just kidding Seriously they have a good pen when healthy and Paulino was looking to be a number one or two starter. decent rotation. Maybe a second place finish next year for them in the central. I had Escobar on my fantasy team. They have a seriously underrated line up. Gordon, Butler, Escobar all had great years. Getz and Francouer are good role players. Once hosmer and mouskakas bloom you all will have a nice little lineup. Biggest thing with them is the entire team seems to always get hurt!!! stay healthy next yr and you the royals could be this years baltimore. Oh yeah and their catcher, he was a call up? or backup? he started to start mid season right? he looked legit too.
  23. Awesome fish
  24. Rod: Dobyns Savy Spinning 693SF Reel: Pflueger Supreme Soft: Evolve Baits Fluid Worm in gill oil Hard:Deps pulsecod in every color but really like real blue gill Wire:Cavitron buzzbait in black
