  1. Was throwing a zoom toad one time. Already caught one and working my way around the pond. I passed a culvert, decided to cast back to it one last time. It was like the fish was playing centerfield. I didn't hear the toad hit the water, see a splash ring nothing, my bait was gone. I thought it went past the culvert to the bank or I threw the bait off. I started to reel and the line suddenly came to life. It was hook and pretty far down, landed it and returned it safe. but it was certainly a surprise and made me laugh.

I just picked up some new swim bait hooks, 5/0 eagle claw lazer sharp made for DOA swim baits it has a longer shank part. Used them on both the super fluke n swimming super fluke seem to fit a bit nicer. Suppose to not tear on hookset n make hook set easier since the point is through a thinner part of the bait. I also use 5/0 super line and std 5/0 EWG. Superfine do get nicer distance and a slightly faster fall. All depends on what you want.
  3. I have tried to post the site before, but not allowed. It is a site like TW but out of Ohio. I can forward the email to anyone interested. I am sure other places will be selling them.
  4. Thanks man. I know I missed my draft and was lucky to get players like Craig, Furcal for the first half, and Lynn off waivers. I know next year Craig ain't coming cheap. Hope I can hold it together, but either way this will be my best finish in 4 yrs playing, 3 was my highest and 4 was my lowest
  5. Just got an email, anybody see these? What colors peaked your interest? I like the Bruised and Bluberry Red, blue and red flakes always do well in my waters. Cinnamon blue and green pumpkin tomato are interesting as well as sprayed grass and south africa special.Deffinately might pick some of these up in 6" lizards for spring or trick worms.
  6. I won 7-5 I am in the championship game!....swept him in all offesive catagories and won era to pull off the W. This guy I am playing, I have had a tough time beating him all year.
  7. He is CRAZY OUTTA THIS WORLD! 70 IP as a starter and a 0.73 era!!!!!!!!!!! Have your wife stick that in a needle and shoot it Roger! Think it was last year, maybe the year before when he was a toughted rookie I had him but he didn't quite work out, but I had him cuz I liked him his fall call up the year before when he got hurt. Hanging in there, we are close, after I have 4 starters go today we should be closer, he is up 7-5 with alot of pitching stats in his favor, he has about 12 pitchers and no position players on the bench. My fear is that the ground I gain today and tomorrow will be lost sunday with all his SPs being double dippers this week and he may crush me on shear IP numbers like k's whip, and qal starts....Give em an extra day push em to monday skip LOL Next week

I haven't had much luck with the MTRS. I got some in the red bug or apple color....But the standard Rattlesnake in junebug or trophy hunter are killer for me. I might pick a pack of these up, gonna see if Academy has them before I order.

Grande Bass rattlesnake'O http://www.grandebass.com/5_rattlesnakeo.html Anyone see or use these yet? Any thoughts or opinions on how you would rig it or if you would try it? To me it looks like more shimmy on a texas or a drop shot but a little tougher than the standard rattlesnake.
  11. That sucks but it happens. LOL I made it through, it was close until sat night. then I got a lead and kept it. Beat the 5th seed, now on to number 2 who I beat 2 times already the last time was to knock him outta 1st so lets just say the statistics are not in my favor. but right now we are dead even 5-5 with 3 ties.
  12. Nice story, glad it was a good time. Sounds like you are gonna have a great fishing partner for life. Kids are funny, mine will brag too when he catches more, and he even will tell about the fish HE caught on my rod and reel with me using it
  13. Went out this morning. Same as Jax, numbers but nothing of size. Landed 5 but missed just as many in an hour. Top water plastics, zoom toads and vibe worms seem the best right now early.
  14. Grande bass has a 3.75 inch baby rattlesnake. Might be a different lure that they haven't seen before. seen some big fish brought in on it posted on their website
  15. Anybody have ennis-entrek. Seen them at a store but haven't heard any reviews
  16. I was third with 155-110-21 good enough for third. My playoff history though is I finish first second or third then tank in the playoffs
  17. zoom trick worms and magnum trick worms, any color really but red shad and baitfish are my favorites, grande bass rattlesnake in june bug, black/blue flake or trophy hunter kvd fineese worm in mutilator. all fished texas rigged weightless with a 3/0 to 5/0 hook sometimes a EWG or just a std offset worm hook depending on cover and thickness of the worm. Usually fish them parrallel to grass beds, across culverts, around shady areas/overhaning trees and through light weeds near waters edge. you can let them sink and slowly reel in or pick up the pace, lift the rod tip up and bring them top water.
  18. Cool article I am from there, matter a fact not to far from waldorf and went to school in La Plata. I never seen or heard of them before in MD, fished out of Solomons island and North beach. I know they were down on the coast of Va. But what I learned here in Jax is that the salinity has a lot to do with rain and warmth. They said last year they were finding flounder and blue fish farther south towards palatka than any other time and the stripers where down by the d**n on lake george. last year was the I think 4th yr of a drought, this year two tropical storms and it is a whole different ball game, cooler and less brackish, they are not nearly as far south from the reports i read and folks I talked to.
  19. Nice fish man.
  20. That is all I use, the EWG, hook ups are no problem. Rig texas weightless just like any other soft plastic. I use zoom so it has the slot that helps you out keeping it all lined up. Others use the screw in or Stanley has the double "frog hook" screw in for soft plastic frogs.Honestly never used a screw lock but they might save them from tearing. You may want to pick up a pack and try them.
  21. How about Medlen? The guy is sick! I picked him up a month ago after his second start.
  22. Didn't Boston fire Francona? Boy that GM up there outa be the next to go, buy a bunch of players that can't live up to expectations fire the world series manager then hire a loser big mouth bum for a manager and then fire sale the team Lololololol finally some has worse moves than Angolos Lololololol
  23. Yeah I learned that quickly, it is all about them. The minute I put the rod down and focus on them the more fun all of us had. I keep the bait simple too berkley nibbles, they like them cuz they can bait their own hook I like them because you get a lot for 3 or 4 bucks and it doesn't die, or worms. I also don't mind if they quit after 10 or 15 mintues because they are bord, instead of forcing a long drawn out trip. Last time though with my my 5 and 2.5 yr old it lasted 45 mintues. Now I will take my 5 yr old for bass and take my rod, if he get bord he usually finds something to intrest him catching bugs or frogs and still enjoys when I catch a fish to take a pic or to release the fish.
  24. Nice man congrats on that!
  25. Clear to slightly stained baitfish is the go to color, never fails. Watermelon red for clear or lightly stained. Red Shad for any water color works everywhere in FL. And June bug but even better is June bug red flake or June bug chart tip for staind water or overcast days. I fish small ponds and 99% of the time fish these T rigged weightless.
