  1. I believe most of the time they are just giving me a sales pitch to something there promoting for the maker of the product itself. I use my own judgement if it looks like it might be worth trying then I will purchase it if not I walk away.
  2. I live in north east louisiana and we have a few good lakes here. My favorite lake for bass fishing is located on Barksdale Air Force Base called Flag lake. I have fished it for many years dating back to the 70's. I have done well for the most part except this year we have recieved way to much rainfall and I am afraid that messed up the spawn and I havent had much luck catching bass this spring. Although I have tried many different lures but not much to speak of. Last month or so I caught several using baby brush hog blackberry in color and that seemed to be the only thing I could get them to strike. Have you bass fishermen encountered this same experience in your locations?
  3. I hope somebody can tell me where I can purchase some Berkley Frenzy Poppers. I have looked and havent had any luck. I have catching on average four pound bass they hit as soon as it hits the water. It's been awhile since I have caught bass like this. The first day they started I was'nt there ten minutes and a four and a half beautiful bass was in the boat To make a long story short I ended up with thirty bass of course I did'nt keep them but I had a blast. So please let me know if you know where I can buy some Berkley Frenzy Poppers. Thanks
  4. Man I'm glad to see it, I'm happy foryou . I need some that luck here in La.
  5. Yeah I've been fishing Bistineau for many years I love the lake and have pulled some very nice bass out of there. But for the past 3 or so years they have drawn the lake down so much to where it's gonna need a couple of years to get back even close to what it used to be. Last summer the lake was really unfishable. Now cypress Lake is looking good I just have'nt given it a chance in the past few months but again I have caught my fair share out there. They have really been catching alot of crappie out of lately. I'll try it out here in the next 2-3 weeks and let you know how I do. WookieeJedi.
  6. WookieeJedi, Thanks for your information. I have been fishing Flag Lake on base alot recently because normally it's one of my most productive lakes. It's bad when all you catch is couple after fishing hard all day. I live close to Lake Bistineau and it was the best lake in this area but they kept drawing it down because of the salvania took over and I live three miles from the Red the same marina the hold the Bass Masters I'll fish there this summer when it gets really hot because of the current and oxygen right now the lakes should be paying off. Like you said the bass are scattered around thats a good point. I think I'm going to try my luck at Lake Bistineau again I have'nt been out there in three weeks. I fish more off the yellow boat road back in the back but there are alot good looking places to fish on that lake I'll be glad when it gets right again like it use to be. I just have understand what this crazy weather has done but at least it seems to be getting better I dont want a repeat of last summer that was really hard on the fish and us to. Well I hope hope everything is going well for you in Claiiborne Parish Thanks for your help.
  7. I tell you people I have never seen bass fishing so bad like it's been this year. I went today and only caught two bass all day. I used everything I had to offer them but there just not interested in it. Not to long ago I remember being able to out and catch a mess of bass easy but something has changed and I really dont think bass fishing is like it used to be. I dont have no answers for it it's just the conclusion I have come to. The weather has been ok but the blue skies. I just got home from the lake and I'm a little wound up over this. I will gladly to anybodys openion about this wierd season so far. Tell me if this kinda thing has ever happened to you or if you think you might have something to help me with the reason the bass are not feeding like they normally do cause I'm stuck.
  8. I live to close to Bass Pro Shops, Im in there at least once sometimes twice a week. Im from Bossier City La. so I spend money I dont have. Just yesterday I went and bought me a Johnny Morris Signature series Reel and I also thru in the JM carbon light signature rod. Dont get me wrong I already fell in love with it and I aint left the back yard yet but I'll try it out on some bass tuesday thru saturday if the rain would go on. The reason Im down on myself is because I already have a Johnny Morris carbon black the rod and reel and I fish with all the time it's just I could have got another one just like the one I already had it works great on sale but instead I let that feeling I get about buying dang gum fishing stuff. I really did need another baitcaster but It drove me crazy because here was a chance to buy a new rod and reel so I spent what I call alot forthis one instead of whats on sale. I know how silly I most sound but told evry body that they were sold out of the other one. I now I just have to live with this awsome Johnny Morris signature series combo. Do you have any advice on how to stay away BPS if you do tell me like it is I can take it.
  9. Thank you Very Much: To all of who welcomed me.
  10. Im from Bossier City, La. I live about three miles from the Red River where the 2009 and 2012 Bass Masters was held. It was something else seeing KVD and all the other greats fishing where I've fish a thousand times. Any way I have lived for 30 yrs. I have been Bass Fishing a little longer than that. I wa raised up Baa Fishing I went a good bit with my dad at a young age and Thank God Im still Bass Fishishing with him today. We head out about 3-4 times a week and we fish hard take seriously I love the sport and thats why Im joining this forum so I can continue to learn all I can about Bass Fishing. Thank for your support. Itold you I live right here where the Bass Masters was held but thats where I do most of my Bass Fishing. I can go to several area lakes and catch a whole lot more fish. One of them the better ones is on Barksdale Air Force Base there are some huge Bass in that lake. I use basically several lures one of my favorite is the spinnerbate and around the tree's I use a baby brush hog and lizards. Thats just to name a few. Later this summer I'll start fishing back in the Red River where theres more of a current and oxygen and shad it actually will be in better shape than the lakes if we have another bad summer like last year. ok well thanks for your time.
