  1. Technically, you aren't suppose to, I'm not an outlaw or anything but as long as you aren't beating jigs off of there boats 99% of them don't mind. Most of them fish too so they are ok. The way I see it as long as you are being respective and don't damage property I don't think there is a problem with it. I have flipped docks there for years and I haven't ever had anybody get on to me...I guess that doesn't mean it's right though....
  2. Anybody from Southern Illinois?? I would like to see a midwest region. Illinois is grouped with the Northeast??? I live in extreme southern illinois (35 miles north of cairo) about 5.5 hours south of Chicago to give you an idea and I can assure you that even though bass are bass amongst the country, southern illinois waters are considerably different then New Hampshire waters ( which Illinois is grouped with). just my 2 cents...let me know if I have simply overlooked a page where I should be looking
  3. It's a little further drive for you but Lake of Egypt is about 12 miles south of me...awesome lake. It is a power plant lake, produces some pretty awesome fishing. You can catch fish off the main lake, but this lake has lots of little fingers. And don't overlook the banks on the main lake. There are houses on roughly 50%-60% of the lake...if you are having trouble boating fish, start flipping the docks, almost fail proof on that lake. Make sure and pay attention to your fish finder...lots of hidden brush piles that hold fish. If you want a real treat, hit it at night
  4. I only live about an hour and 15 minutes from KY lake...I haven't hurt any detailed reports about spawning cycle, but I do have a friend who fishes tournaments and said they tore them up about 3 weeks ago there in about 12 foot of water on alabama rig. I'm guessing they might have been staging for spawn? so you might hit it right in the middle of spawn or right after...wish i had some more info for you
  5. I'm new to the forum and live and fish Southern Illinois...I'm 25 years old and have been fishing since I could walk. I'm an addict. haha. I have grown up fishing strip pits, farm ponds, small lakes, and any other backwaters that I can reach by 4 wheeler or foot. Due to a lot of time spent at my career I'm not able to fish as much as I would like anymore, but some strip pits and farm ponds within a mile of my house still allow me to slip out and wet a line some evenings. I also fish Lake of Egypt (a warm water discharge power plant lake) a little. Tights lines to all! As my grandad use to say, "turn em inside out!"
