I purchased the Abu Garcia Blackmax and Silvermax combos at my local tackle store. I think I payed $50 for the blackmax, it came with a 6.6 medium blackmax rod. The silvermax ran $60.00 and it came with a 7' MH silvermax rod. Not the best in the world but good enough for me. I started out with 10lb stren and now am using 12lb flurorcarbon on them. Kyle

I was checking these out at Walmart today myself. I don't own this model, but I do use the blackmax and the silvermax reels from Abu and love them.

I agree!!! My local tackle shop is selling these for 89.99 right now and you get a nice set of Lew's pliers with a nich sheath with it. Hoping to pick up a few more soon!!

I just got the Speed Spool model and love it. It is my first one. I WILL be selling all my other reels and replacing them with Lews!!!

My local Walmart has the same deal going on. As soon as payday arrives I plan on stocking up on a few things!!!

I have the Lightning Shock rod in 7' M action and love it. I use it to throw wacky worms and weightless worms and love it. I am using mine with 10lb mono. I dont think you will regret it.

The KC Star showed the water temp to be 76*. I dont know where they measure it though.

Not sure where they measure the WT at La cygne, but the KC star has the water temp at 76 from last Thursday's report.

I have a Bill Dance fat free shad in a crawdad color that I have had around for a long time. I have been unable to find the exact same one. When I bought it, it was originally $6.50. It is always a fish producer for me and my father in law. So anytime one of wants to use it we ask for $6.50. Kind of a stupid name.. but both of us know exactly what lure we are talking about!!

I have 2 that I really want to learn to fish this year. One being a jig.. always have one tied on but have never caught anything on one. The other one being a deep diving crankbait. I am generally a bank beater, but want to learn how to find and fish deeper water this year.

I would have to go with a 8" plum color worm. No matter where I am fishing I can always count on this color to produce at least one fish for me.

Anybody fish at Smithville Lake lately? I haven't been out there for awhile. Just wondering if the bass are biting?? Thanks everyone Kyle

I really like the Red Eye Shad in sexy shad. I have caught largemouth, smallmouth and white bass on it.

Hey everyone, my name is Kyle and I live in Kearney, MO. It is about 20 miles north of Kansas City. I have been fishing most of my 35 years. I normally fish close to home like Smithville Lake, Watkins Mill and Pony Express Lake. My favorite fish to go after is the largemouth, but I am happy to fish for just about anything!!! I have 4 kids, 3 of which are old enough to go fishing and love to fish in their grandpa's pond!!!! I can't wait to read and participate in the discussions on this site Kyle
