  1. Looks good Brad.
  2. We caught 3 today that had bloody tails with this one being the worse. We caught a bunch last weekend at the same lake all with bloody tails. Water temp today was 74 degrees. All were caught in 2 ft. or less next to timber.
  3. I work at an automobile salvage yard selling used and aftermarket car/truck parts.
  4. Caught this girl today at Harrison County Lake in Northern Missouri. She hit in a foot of water on a Zoom Super Speed craw in blue berry color. I assume she was on a bed as her tail was a bloody mess. This is by far my biggest bass to date. We couldn't get the scale to work when I caught her but it was a lot bigger than my father in law's 4.5 that we weighed earlier in the day. Anyone have a guess at what she may weigh? We were thinking at least 6 if not bigger.
  5. I hear lots of good things about Power Pro braid. It is pretty inexpensive too!!
  6. I use the Yum baits the most but carry a nice selection of Zoom and Havoc baits. My #1 go to is the 5" Yum Dinger in the bream color.
  7. I have this combo along with the silvermax combos and like them a lot. Sure they aren't the best ones on the market but they work well enough for me.
  8. Great job!! I am horrible with jigs so I need to do this one day too!!
  9. My father in law fished in a tournament on Saturday and weighed in with 16.87 lbs with a 5 fish limit. I think we ended up in 6th place or something. It was nice to weigh some fish as we blanked in our first one.
  10. My suggestion would be to wacky rig a senko style of stickbait. Let it sink for a little then give it a twitch and let it sit again. It drives the bass nuts. I always have one tied on just to make sure I catch at least one when I head out!!!!
  11. It is a like button like the one on facebook. This guys life jacket was the inflatable kind, but apparenty didn't inflate.. I wasn't there but that is what I was told. Also a few years back one of my father in laws friends did a stupid boating mistake and was thrown out of his boat with that type of jacket and it only deployed halfway.. Now this guy is a big guy and he thought he was going to drown. Luckily another boat watched it happen and got to them quickly. I will only wear the old style life jackets.. I don't want ot have to worry about it not inflating.
  12. I will be drooling over your video once the kids go to bed tonight.
  13. After reading this thread before this weekends tournament I have never even thought about it. So all day Saturday I tried to make a mental note on each one. All of them were to my right side except for one.. I got short stringed on a spinnerbait and all I could do was go left and the same time as I was swinging it into the boat.
  14. Just today my father in law and a friend of his were fishing a local lake, when they heard a scream for help. They quickly fired up the motor and rounded the bend to find a man struggling to stay above water. They managed to get him into their boat and back to shore. He was fishing in a small aluminum boat when it began taking on water. He had a life jacket in the boat but was not wearing it. I guess he couldn't get to it when the boat was sinking. Besides the obvious safety ideas, I think everyone should take some type of swimming class.. even if all you do is learn to doggie paddle. This guy did not know how to swim at all.
  15. Ended up having a wonderful tournament today! We ended up with 5 fish for 16.87 lbs.. Not too bad. First place was 21lbs. We got a few keepers right out of the gate and had 3 in the boat in 30 minutes. We hit the first cove with some timber in it and caught them on wacky rigged senko style baits. Once the wind picked up we picked another nice one on a spinnerbait. We ended our day in another cove out of the wind and caught a few more nice ones on the wacky rig and a t-rig crawdad. All but one of our keepers came out of less that 2ft. of water. Our biggest was 4.86lbs. I can't even begin to count how many shorts we caught, it seemed like we went through a spell and couldn't buy one over 14". Kyle
  16. Has anyone around here been up to Harrison County Lake in Bethany lately? I have a tournament in the morning and I have never been there before. My father in law has been 2 times before but not this year at all. It is suppose to be in the 80s tomorrow with a pretty good south wind.. I think they are calling for 20mph or so. Any tips or ideas? Thanks Kyle
  17. d**n!!!!!! Do you ever catch small fish???? Congrats on another beauty!!!
  18. Awesome fish!!! Any chance you need a step son to take fishing???
  19. Very nice!!!! Congrats to her on a very nice bass!!!
  20. That is AWESOME!!! For sure something they will treasure for a long time!!!!!
  21. I love the regular Vicious fluoro in 12lb test. I tried the Pro Elite in 17lb and hated it. I couldn't do anything right with it. I would give it another shot if I was catching big fish like you have been posting lately though!!!!!
  22. I have the same line on 4 of my reels and love it. This is my first venture into fluorocarbon line and I am really impressed so far.
  23. I have never tried drop shotting. Is this a good technique to use when pitching to timber in 10' of water? Or maybe shallow laydowns? I would normally throw a T-rig worm or other soft plastic. Just looking to give the fish something different to look at..
  24. I use the 12 lb fluoro and love it. I make sure I spray some line conditioner on it before I head out each time. I did try the 17lb elite fluoro once and hated it.
